Im sure im over analyzing as I always do but I found it kind of weird that they are removing the ceiling panels in our tunnel that connects Norfolk to Portsmouth making it at least 10 ft taller in the center. First words that came out of my mouth when the g/f asked why they were removing them is that its probably so the military can bring the larger vehicles through jokingly. Then I thought about it more and thought that its not far fetched. Now tanks are able to fit. Is this a possible preperation for the chaos to come? Just curious.

I noticed that also when I was visiting family in Norfolk a few weeks ago. I figure they're just replacing it like the article states.

Although it does makes sense for them to be making room for military vehicles to pass through. Kind of a scary thought. Is there ever military traffic in the area?

Yes there are always military vehicles around our area. We have portsmouth naval ship yard, oceana airbase, Norfolk naval airstation, ft. Eustes? Ft Monroe there's a lot of bases around here.

Yeah my family lives in Newport News I believe. It would make sense that the tiles could be taken out for emergency/military vehicle needs. But then again, it is probably just regular maintenance.

I live in Hampton. This is normal repair work on the tunnel. This tunnel would not be used for military movements in the area. There are other bridges that would suffice.

Military in the area

Fort Eustis, Fort Monroe, Fort Story, Langly AFB, Norfolk Naval Air Station, Norfolk Amphib base, NAS Oceania, Cheatam Annex the list goes on and on I just cant remember all of them. I often wonder if I am very very safe where I live or if I am a prime target due to military presence in the area.

Yes Karen cleaning the tiles and replacing them are normal... Not removing the 6 inch thick concrete blocks that the tile attaches to. Im sure its nothing as always but its definitely not "normal"
Glad to see a few locals on here...

Yes there are a few locals here. I've "met" someone who lives in Chesapeake too! (Not in person just you know, met them here)
