Yep, the longest provincial Prime minister in Canada has suddenly decided to leave political life.

Apparently, he began aving problems lately in his party about a tax reform of his.

Here is a link; www.theglobeandmail.com...

The big question now; was it really motivated by the facts stated in the article, or will we learn he retires in Québec, or at least, in the east side of the continent?... y,know... to escape radiation?...

I have to take care of the kids and will be back later.

See you later.

Wasn't there a spying scandal recently reported on ATS where the treasury detected a breach from hackers? Perhaps some "sensitive information" has been garnered and used as leverage.

No conspiracy, his MLA seat was going to be the next target, if not the target, of a vote recall. But Campbell is a rat and I wouldn't put it past him in the least to jump ship. I'll wait to see if his wife leaves her position at a school in Vancouver. If she suddenly quits then something is definitely up. But I'm fairly sure he quit because we are still hissing his name in conversations.

Ya and now we have Double C, and I don't mean bra size.

She will destroy this great province.

This is old news, and it's even dated Nov 2nd.

I doubt this is related to Japan and the reactors at all... :/

I never thought that someone could take over for GC that I would dislike as much but then C-squared won the leadership race.

This is the same woman who cut the province's daycare subsidy and then b*tched when she wasn't able to get her own children's daycare covered through the ministry.

If I didn't love BC so bloody much I'd be long gone.

More likely something rather mundane. Like a porn video with him and a male prostitute about to surface.

I'm back!

Thanks everyone for your posts.

I didn't know about the date, I will check on that, but it's the first time it was talked on TV where I live, that is in Québec.

This is somewhat of a big news, I'd say, but I had never heard of his situation before. It was "weird" to hear, given the current events regarding the whole west coast.

He is a rat kinda person? A true politician then; it explains why he stayed for so long.
But keeping an eye on his wife to see if she too resigns from her job is a good idea.
But it would also be normal, I guess.

If his friends start moving, it will really be suspicious then,

BTW: I don't want to fearmonger, I was just surprised as I said above.

On a side note, on the french news channel LCN, the news anchor, at 5:02PM, tonight, while talking with a nuclear expert, said something like ( it is a translation ) "...of course we want to see ( our ) people feeling reassured, but we could also paint to them the real picture of the situation..." The anchor in question is of very good reputation here, he is not a bu******er. Or he would be VERY god at bu****ng...

I will try to transfer it on my computer as soon as possible as I taped it on my TV system's hard drive.

If ever you are back here, you should know that, yes, I should have looked at the date. But what you fail to see is that he was told to go out on November 2010, and resigns a few days after Japan's catastrophic events, in March 2011, as his land might be hit with radiation?

Your quick to point, I see. Hm.

EDIT: Just to say, I will look into CC... thanks!
