I'm not fully on board with this story, but I'm not going to openly bash someone that is trying to get a story out if it is true. If it's not true, then shame on him and Mod's should be able to move his comment to the Skunk Works forum and upon learning of same, we can all ignore any future comments. However, in the spirit of denying ignorance, I'll remain neutral at this point. Now, in regard to the BBC reporters...

Initially, official word stated there was "no worry of wind because it was blowing East - out to sea... Which is where a boat would be. And your reasoning that BBC reporters have counters and would bug out doesn't make sense because they are on land. Two different directions. Even our weatherman last night said that the winds were basically in a circle pattern right now. So if it is there, we'll know soon enough... maybe!

here's a map of current Roosevelt location. There's 3 other men on Mount Rushmore...maybe they have a ship too

Im getting this news as family relays it so of course its going to be broken up and of course its going to be barely mentioned on TV, Radio , etc.

Im simply trying to share an event within my family and information to all of you. I can only hope that a story comes out on the mainstream media so that i can start to get apologies directly from all the skeptics in this thread.

I don't mean to be rude, but posting the same comment over and over again, directing us to read CNN, plays down your credibility. Right now it seems like you read the CNN article then, after realizing the ship you needed couldn't possible be in Japan, changed the ships name to the one CNN says is in Japan.
We need more proof that your cousin and his shipmates are experiencing this sickness, because it seems like your uncle conveniently changed your cousins ship name after you read CNN.

You, sir, are a liar. That's your own words up there. I have located the Roosevelt on the East Coast. Repeating messages to all of us about an aircraft carrier does not take away from the fact that YOU SAID your relative was ON THE USS ROOSEVELT.

That is impossible because that ship is in Mayport, Florida.

It makes sense to me. This is simply relaying what the OP knows, there wouldn't be a lot of other information, they're not ominpotent. Otherwise its just research needed.

Did you really need at all to post the same reply to all of us?

Seems suspicious to me. A US Navy carrier was moved that was 80 miles off the coast due to radiation (shortly after #1 exploded, but that is a different subject altogether), but no reports of any US troops out there anywhere helping with the clean up.

Which has been known since day one.

No where is the Roosevelt mentioned.

Soooooooooooooo......the e-mail was wrong? You said that he got an e-mail from his son, while in quarantine, and they're not letting him out of this room, but yet he has free reign on e-mail? And the e-mail said he was on the Roosevelt, but neither of them are in the vicinity of Japan???????????? So who was lying, your uncle, or you? I pick you.

Your story has changed WAY to much in just under 2 hours for me to believe you...sorry.

When I was in the Air Force we had an e-mail address list that allowed us to look up most other AF members
e-mail addresses. This list almost always mentioned the base they were stationed at or the base could be figured out through the e-mail address.
Perhaps for proof that you are telling the truth... (If the Navy has something similar) you can U2U someone who has access to this list and they could look up your cousins name, to see if he really is on the George Washington. (I don't have access to Navy servers)
It's a thought and it would greatly enhance your credibility and reputation, since this is a very serious topic. I'd hate to see this thread moved to hoax or you banned especially if you have told the truth.


Edit: Nuclear matters are taken very seriously in the military and the US general public still has some memories and fears left over from the cold war. It is surprising to me that they are letting these 30 sailors e-mail about radiation exposure when they aren't letting the general public truly know the seriousness of this calamity.

Erm I didnt 'bash' him, I just pointed out that the reporters in the area all have geiger counters and would leave very quickly if they were at risk.... Thats about all I said on the matter.

i can totaly see this happening

but clarification please..."A cousin within my extended family was on a US Naval Ship that entered into the mess in Japan to help save people who were stranded from the tsunami and clear out some of the initial debris. Him a long with 30 others were sent home almost immediately because of an instant illness that has caused them to continuously vomit, have blood coming out of their ears, and he has lost 25lbs in a matter of days. They were all diagnosed with radiation poisoning and are back in the states in hospitals near their hometowns"

wierd for people under quarintine.. "There are a few computers within the room they are locked in and people in the room are emailing family members"

i understand in the wanting to hurry up and get the story out, that the first info is not always on spot. but also understand the skepticism with the story as laid out. maybe wait a bit longer before posting next....

Presenting baseless claims as facts when a lot of people, many of whom may be more gullible than others and are already on edge, is a careless move.

And as for people "screamimg hoax"...well, when information is posted which refute the OP's claims, and the OP refuses to listen, well, people get a little upset.

plus if this was true, I'm pretty certain they wouldn't be allowing people the access to email to spread this around until an official statment (if any...if you prefer) was released. I'm sure immediate family members would be notified at best but it seems a bit fishy to me
