Yours is a balanced view. I am not an Obama defender. The more I think about it the more I agree that he might be taking a more visible approach to this problem. What I was doing in my first reply was responding to the to the quick to jump on anything Obama bashers.

At least when he was in the Senate he was present and accounted for, which was the only way he voted by never taking a stand.
He seems to be unaware that this time around doing the same will be political suicide.

The political divisions in this country are sickening to say the least.

We are all Americans, and the Gov. has us all arguing and nitpicking over BS!
Seriously? We're arguing over presidential vacationing practices

It has become out of hand, guys. Let's just all try to remember that this shouldn't be about supporting a political party or a specific politician. They do not give a crap about you or I. Why should we argue for them? We should try to argue about what would do us all some good. In all honesty..........who the hell cares how many days HW took off, or where Michelle and President Obama go for dinner? It's all a distraction and it's getting worse and worse.

Star for you.

I involved myself in this thread to shut down the idiots who put party before nation. There are people here who think that the POTUS should not be entitled to a personal life outside the office.

No one is asking him to GO to Japan; we are just asking him to DO something. To be presidential. Not some golfing buffoon who is too far above the problem to pay attention to it with anything more than off-the-cuff remarks.

Absolutely correct. He is the PRESIDENT. He gave up his personal life for 4 years when he decided to run for the office of the president of the most powerful (maybe?) country in the world. He treats the job as if it were an annoyance and shouldn't impede his personal time. Sorry bub, you don't have personal time. Don't like it? quit.

So in your infinite wisdom that he be treated like a slave without being allowed to disconnect from the day to day operations of the Govt so he don't snap or go crazy. We need someone who is mentally, emotionally, physically fit to hold the office as y'all that crunch numbers all day every day can attest to this.

How about we deny him food? Clean clothes? That is how asinine you sound. Seriously, he's got the undoubtedly and uncontested hardest job on the planet and needs to be able to disconnect so he don't lose his cool and let one fly against a friend.

EPIC FAIL.

All you've shown so far is that you're another one that's willing to defend the indefensible.

You cannot argue that obama is at least giving the perception that he is disengaged from the work part of being predident, while making sure he and his family enjoy all the perks.

He's been working to get an economic plan in place for weeks.
What the hell are you talking about. Did you see a headline that he was in South America and somehow equate that to him not working???????

This is what Im talking about. Putting party values over country. This equates to putting personal values over reality. You'll always be angry by arguing your above point. Presidents go abroad. It's what they do. It's an American president's specialty in fact.
No one "fails" as you put it.

For weeks? Did you really say he's been working on an economic plan for weeks? He's been in office for over two years! I've said it before so I'll say it again, in two years just what has he done to HELP America? Created a new form of welfare ( 3yrs of unemployment), tied our hands by banning all drilling here in the US (notice how the price of oil started climbing after that bit of news), snuck in $105billion into a health care bill that nobody wanted, wants to enact Cap& tax err trade (which would further prevent any form of growth of business or industry). But through all this he's only spent weeks on forming an economic plan. Maybe a few less golf outting and a few less parties at the White House, maybe he might actually get something done.

Update 2:38 p.m. A small amount of radiation, the coast of southern California reached. That said a diplomat from Associated Press recently. The amount is according to the diplomat, however, "one billion times below the levels that would threaten public health."

Gosh. There he was today with the President of Brazil holding a press conference about how the US wants to be one of their biggest customers for oil and bio-fuels and also wanting to press green energy agendas globally...what a slacker!

Let's not forget about Obama's $2billion loan to Petrobras

The U.S. is going to lend billions of dollars to Brazil’s state-owned oil company, Petrobras, to finance exploration of the huge offshore discovery in Brazil’s Tupi oil field in the Santos Basin near Rio de Janeiro. Brazil’s planning minister confirmed that White House National Security Adviser James Jones met this month with Brazilian officials to talk about the loan.

The U.S. Export-Import Bank tells us it has issued a “preliminary commitment” letter to Petrobras in the amount of $2 billion and has discussed with Brazil the possibility of increasing that amount. Ex-Im Bank says it has not decided whether the money will come in the form of a direct loan or loan guarantees. Either way, this corporate foreign aid may strike some readers as odd, given that the U.S. Treasury seems desperate for cash and Petrobras is one of the largest corporations in the Americas. …

Another complaint was that Obama wanted Brazilian president from the Workers Party, Dilma Rousseff, to sell Brazil’s newfound oil to the US. One of the world’s largest deep sea oil discoveries was made by Brazilian oil company Petrobras in the so called Tupi oil field in the Santos Basin off the coast of Rio back in November of 2007.

The US is interested in importing oil from Petrobras, and Obama has said as much. But the US has no powers over Petrobras, which is majority owned by the Brazilian government and intent on servicing local oil needs first.

Yes shame on Obama for not flying over to Japan and using his laser vision to seal the breached reactors, and his hurricane breath to clean up all the rubble.

Ogh, this is good. obama'll send billions that's BILLIONS to Brazil and yet we have oil right of our own coast that he refuses to touch. Billions that could be spent here at home helping our oil companies, billions that could be spent putting thousands of US oil workers back to work. Great guy, he believes in helping all other economys except ours.
