The initial ufo sighting seemed to be remembered before the traumatic head injury, looks like the alien abduction memories started after that. Pretty weird that the majority of them remember the same abduction event.

Weird but not necessarily indicative of a shared, objective experience. Every person involved, patient and hypnotist, along every step of the way, expected to find "hidden" memories of an alien abduction. And not by coincidence, these memories were "recovered".

Yeah it is unsurprising they "remember" the same abduction scenario, I bet most people could think up a similar scenario if asked. Pop culture has become so ingrained with the idea of alien abduction that it is unsurprising most accounts are similar, if not the same.

I think I may have been abducted by these beings, possibly greys, or some unknown entities
I saw an alien space ship last night ( a really spaceship, not some orb or light, a real spaceship ) and there was alot of missing time.
I astral projected one night, and i was on something with a bright white light above my head, and a hand with 3 or 4 fingers flashed by my chest.
I astral projected another night, and i saw faces, and they look like the alien in the first picture but with a smaller head, and more slanted eyes

well, everyone knew since the old days that these desolate / wilderness places are not a good place for someone who have mediumistic tendency. many of the ufo encounters in the wild is similar to the olde ghost sightings..

i guess the one behind these phenomena exchange the ghost mask into the ufo mask to adjust for our supposed scientific culture

I read elsewhere that Jim Weiner had a lump removed from his leg. His doc couldn't ID it, so they sent it to a specialist - then a department of defense official took it without explanation.

Nicely presented OP.

I remember this tale from Unsolved Mysteries but have forgotten a lot of the detail of the case. Like the fact that nothing really occurred until 12 years later.

The original events occurred not long after the Travis Walton case. The period in-between, up to the hypnosis sessions in the late 1980s, were definitely a time when little grey men and abduction scenarios were seeping into mainstream. I am also not sure how reliable hypnosis is recovering 'repressed memories'.

It's strange how these abduction stories and contact with aliens have almost vanished in the 21st century. If we look back at the 1950s how credible were contactees who talked of meeting with aliens from the planets of our Solar System?

So maybe we are now looking back at the 1980s-90s as the era of the alien abduction in the same vein. We can't prove it didn't happen for absolutely certain. But most of the evidence relies on hypnosis.

But did he remember the ufo sighting BEFORE he fell down the shaft? Some suggest that close encounters are almost always abductions as well, even if they are not remembered.

I have recently become interested in this case, for a couple of reasons. At least 3 of the persons involved, Jim/Jack Weiner and Chuck Folz, are artists (as am I). Also, I have become fascinated by David Paulides research into the National Parks missing persons clusters.

My thoughts: The dramatic change in style in all of their artwork from prior to the alleged incident proves to me that SOMETHING happened to these guys. If this is part of their hoax, WOW. Also, the fact that Jim and Jack are IDENTICAL TWINS seems to me to be an important part of this- they all shared (according to them) strikingly similar nightmares.

Also, in a recent interview that I listened to, it is alleged that the MILITARY (Air Force?) was engaging in field tests in the same area where the alleged incident happened, for SUBCUTANEOUS ID TRACKING CHIPS used to locate and identify operatives. It was suggested that the technology used in these chips may have been attracting the 'non-human entities'.

This is a fascinating case in my view, and I enjoy listening to the tale even if it is a fabricated modern-day ghost story. Their artwork is amazing and the skill they posses makes me drool with envy. If I had to bet money, I would say that they are telling the truth as THEY remember it. However, if the allegations that the MILITARY was somehow involved are true, I wonder if MK Ultra mind-control techniques may have been used to confuse their minds (perhaps they witnessed classified stuff?).

I wonder if this is possibly related to the National Parks missing persons cases in some way, too.

Thanks for posting the Unsolved Mysteries video!

Here is the one that really caught my attention- from Open Minds TV:

These guys are amazing artists!

Also, according to one of the podcast interviews, the 4 men involved received conflicting reports from the rangers that work in the area screening campers... One of them, after hearing their tale of a giant light in the sky, told them that they could not access the pond that they wanted to fish due to a lack of rain, only to be told by the next ranger that there had been a huge rain storm that had raised the level of the river. It also was apparent that the rangers had communicated with themselves regarding their reported 'UFO' sighting and were purposefully steering them away from a particular area.

Another interesting tidbit is a photo of the side of a neighbor's house showing a nearly perfect circular patch of ivy that (allegedly) disappeared overnight... this supposedly happened after another abduction years after the initial incident. Here are the videos that include some of this additional information:
