Ufologist Stan Friedman and Shostak from SETI will debare on July 21st. Pulled this off of the UFO Updates site:

Just a quick reminder that Dr. Seth Shostak and I are scheduled
to discuss UFOs and SETI on Coast to Coast Wednesday, July 21
from 11PM-2AM, Pacific Time.

This is the replacement for the June 22 program which was
postponed because Seth came down with Pneumonia.

Some of my views are expressed in my article "UFOs: Challenge to
SETI Specialists" on my website:

Friedman crushed Shostak 57% to 33%, with 10% voting for a tie.

Friedman really knows his facts. Seth is an excellent debater.

I take much of what Friedman says with a grain of salt but it was interesting nonetheless.

As well anyone should...he's pretty well regarded as a disinfo agent...

Mr. Friedman seems like a pretty upfront/honest type of guy. I just met him for the first time this past weekend. Bought his Top Secret/Majic book and I'm not sure when I'll be able to read it though.

Um, where'd you hear that? I was under the impression that Stan Friedman was more or less the top UFO researcher in the country.

Who isn't labeled a disinfo agent? Really, if you have a story or study ufology and you get any type of public credit then immediately the paranoid wackos come out from hiding in their bunkers (aka their parents basement) and call you a misimformation agent. Back many years ago I wanted to take UFOology seriously. I started going to MUFON and other local UFO meetings. What I sadly learned very fast is that 99% of the people I met had some sort of psychological or paranoia disorder. I lost all hope in the field.

I think Stan Friedman is a pretty good guy. I have seen him do his Roswell thing several times and he is an available person. If you email him he will respond.

1. You're in good company. Jacque Valle pretty much decided the same thing....

2. I agree.

Do a little research and you will find several references to Friedman's association with the CIA, couple that with the fact that he's not as readily labeled a "wacko" like some others in the field who actually have better and more "believable" information makes me at least raise an eyebrow when it comes to Friedman. Don't be a sheep just because he seems like a "pretty good guy".

Man you are so right. It's the standup researchers who aren't given to flights of sci-fi fancy that are usually strung up onto the old "disinformation agent" cross. Normally it's the strangest most paranoid freaks with the wildest stories like Rich Reed or David Icke that get the lions share of the respect in the UFO community.
