Ugh- that's not good.Do you think it's an aftershock of the one on the 11th or a totally new one?

Well.. this one is inland so it could be an aftershock.

Then again, it could be something new and unrelated.

I am watching a live stream commentary and the guy is commenting on how long this one is lasting as well.

They are still waiting for damage reports. Hope the 9.0 didn't reactivate Fuji. This is the last thing Japan needs right now.

They also stated it was a horizontal quake, like the 9.0 and other aftershocks.

Considering the last time Fuji erupted was also the last time that Japan got an earthquake near this big, I would reckon that this isn't very good news. I would hate to see a volcanic eruption to top off the disaster, but from what I've read it's at least a possibility. Keep us updated, this could be big.

We must all question what is going on... Not to mention the bad gut feeling of something really weird to happen...

I was reading how the previous eruption of Mt Fuji was brought on by the onset of a large offshore Earthquake in 1707. A stratovolcano 12,000ft overlooking Tokyo Bay beginning to make 'noise' isn't reassuring.

This doesn't sound good at all.

I have been looking online and the only information I find on this one is via twitter posts.

I don't even want to think of what could happen if Fuji decided to wake up.

the Fiji eruption could be the catalyst
to get the radiation into the jet stream.
We better hope Fiji don't erupt as America
would greatly increase it's chances of seeing
radiation particulates on it's mainland.
This could be a bigger disaster.
Not to mention what it would do to the locals
in Japan.

Yes TRUEAMERICAN has mention the force is heading south after the previous EQ.
To review his insight... pull up his previous treads.
That to.. Puterman and many others..

Its going to get ugly!

I don't know what the Japanese govt is waiting for ... they should have started systematic controlled evacuations of children ... elderly and women atleast .. it's a lot I know .. but they have to start somewhere .. and as many as they can ... before it's impossible ... they can always come back if things quite down ...

Yes, I noticed on Google Earth Real-time Earthquakes page that this latest 6.0 near Fuji was located almost directly where 3 plates meet at one point. I don't know what the heck is happening.

I hope TRUEAMERICAN is ultimately wrong, but he has been right so far.

Very good point not to mention all experts expect a 7.9 'aftershock' in the coming weeks which could trigger another tsunami and further damage to the reactors.

Very creepy indeed. Look at this screen shot I took-

[atsimg]http://files.abovetopsecret.com/images/member/b17399ec5260.jpg[/atsimg]

The first arrow pointing at a 5.4 yellow-dotted quake happened a few days ago. Now look at the other arrow pointing at the red-dotted 6.1 near My. Fuji. It's on the opposite side at yet another plate juncture point. Looks like the whole area is possibly becoming unstable. Maybe TRUEAMERICAN is onto something.
