Is It Possible To Create a World-Wide Self-Fulfilling Doomsday Prophesy?

Simple question: With all the negativity played out on the internet recently, much associated with real life disasters, can we as a global society work ourselves into such a frenzy that we create an otherwise non existent self destruction? If so, I would not look forward to December 20th, 2012 for the day after............

All it takes is Obama saying: "I predict the world ending in 3 days" and him then shooting every nuke america has to every corner of the planet... And you got yourself a self fulfilling doomsday prophesy...

I like to think that humans could stop it, but my faith in humanity has been wavering. There are just too many selfish people

I wonder often about this with the level of knowledge at our fingertips now. I try to rein myself in from letting my mind go down apocalyptic paths. I try to stay focused on my S.O., my family, my kitties, and trying to be kind or do the right thing in local situations in my life.
