I think the prophet Jeremiah saw a lot of the 'lying pens of the scribes' in his own lifetime - so it seems to go a bit deeper than perhaps
subconscious shading (i.e. the way Mssrs Aland and Nestle etal. consciously and subconciously pick and choose between ancient hand copied texts of the
so-called canonical Greek New Testament to suit their own faith-based belief systems)
If Nestle, Aland etal. were in fact 'atheist scholars' (and not self styled 'Christians') we'd have very different sets of texts to be
considered 'the original reading' in many many cases...
And I truly believe that these persons sifting through all the messy textual copies at their disposal like Nestle or Aland etal. make 'subconscious'
choices as often as they do conscious ones...
