Ok I know a friend or two who currently aren't members of ATS. But anyhow he wanted to see if BTS was any good. But there parental controls are set for fifteen year olds and the parental controls block him off (he uses AOL). I know that this is probably a question for AOL but I thought I'd ask is there any particular reason why BTS is keeps getting blocked off. Then I've heard stories of members not being able to post topics on BTS. So is there anything on BTS not appropriate for teenagers or something. Because nothing on ATS gets blocked. Is there any particular reason. I'd like to know this before I recommend BTS to anybody.

Why block a bunch of Chit Chat. I'm really suprised that if they blocked that then why didn't they block ATS. AOL has the worst parental controls. My friends parental controls got blocked off by them and he couldn't turn on the anit-spam. Now adays 90% of his email is spam cause he still can't turn on spam control.

That's pretty lame....Why I remember when I was at that "young and vulnerable age"....lol....as they so like to put it, these porn blockers just came out - I then conquered my lack of knowledge of the PC and busted thru every one my parents tired - what a teenager won't do...hehe

There's gotta be a way around it - if you can access the web without restraint then I'm sure you can find a way to bypass it for him without his parents finding out.

I see no reason why BTS should be kept off limits - it may have something to do with what infinite said, along with maybe some kind of cross-analysis of kids who visit BTS and kids who also visit more legit "bad" sites...

I think it's all crap anyways, but what does my opinion count for?

May be the parental controls are high for some content on BTS, now sometimes if you have a firewall and have the settings to high it will block BTS but not ATS the reason is that the firewall will consider BTS a third party and when the firewall is high it will block, lowering the firewall or giving permission to accept the site will take care of the problem. I had the firewall problem with zonealarm pro for weeks I could not figure out why I could not get on BTS and some configuration change took care of the problem.
