Are people really saying that because Japan doesn't donate, Americans shouldn't donate to them? What kind of twisted, self-serving logic is this?
Ever hear of the golden rule? You don't do something because someone else did it for you. You do something because it is what you would like to see
Even if Japan never donated one single penny to Americans in the event of a disaster, how would that ever give anyone a logical explanation as to why
they shouldn't donate to those people in Japan?
I mean, following that logic, why would anyone ever give money to the homeless. Has a homeless person ever given you money?
You donate because there are people in need. You donate because you have some spare change that could do some good. You don't donate because
whomever you're donating to has or might in the future donate to your cause.
