The sun is continuing it's highly energetic state, and discharging almost continuous flares. The BIG spot is facing us, and more large ones appear to be approaching.

BIG SUNSPOTS: The sunspot number soared this weekend when sunspot 652 and its companion 'spot 653 emerged over the sun's eastern limb.
