Totally agree - I'll take nausea any day over a even a small earth quake.

But this is just a question - seems a good idea to see if it's isolated or not. If hypochondria comments come up, no worries. But I can tell you that is one thing I personally am not. I haven't thrown up in probably 15 or 20 years. I jog everyday and am generally very very healthy and work even when I'm not. And I never take meds if I can push through it because I don't like to have senses clouded. I think that means I'm not a typical hypochondriac. Don't you think?

Thank goodness for that.

Did they have nausea? I haven't said that anyone has died since last night

Of course (and I wasn't suggesting anyone not be concerned, or pay attention to how they feel) I was simply agreeing that many times (myself included) we can "think" ourselves into sickness from stress and concern. So, while we are paying attention to "what may come" it's also critical to remember that self-fulfilling prophecy (as example) may be playing a part in how people are feeling. Not saying it is, just suggesting we be aware of the possibility.

p.s. Hope you all feel better soon.

Probably she is pregnant

Who me? Don't make me chuckle, remember I'm woozy.

Nope! already have had all my kids so... done with that!:

1) I know what morning sickness is and this is not it.
2) The men I know who were throwing up last night are not clever enough to also be pregnant
3) My kids who have it are too young to be pregnant

And none of us - just got off the phone with 2 more people - have anything but violent vomiting. No fever. And it started yesterday for all of us. Or in the middle of the night.

maybe it is psychosematic? how do you spell that. but weird that we weren't talking to each other. and none of them by the way don't think it is radiation. they're just stumped and slumped.

I totally agree. Why I stopped watching House
And I love that show. But I was sick before I thought about this. I was just taking a break from hugging the porcelain God and went on line and was listening to CNN and they kept saying in the live feed that the wind is moving away from Japan so that is good for the local radiation levels. They they showed a map and I thought - hmm that is moving away from them... but towards us.

Of course, the question would be, are people experiencing this in Hawaii? Oregon?

Maybe there was a burp (and I totally understand that this is all conjecture) but maybe there was a burp and currents carried some at night and places would be spared.

I'm not saying this is what happened, but here is the place to look at all the scenarios and not take the authority line as gospel.

Shifting wind to blow radiation towards sea?

One of the better documented accounts of health disorders preceding an earthquake is provided by the noted seismologists Taramelli and Mercalli after an earthquake near the Gulf of Genoa on February 23, 1887, at 6:20 A.M. As early as the evening of the preceding day--about the time of the first cases of abnormal animal behavior--complaints were voiced by sensitive people of a general malaise, nausea, nervous over-excitement, breathing difficulties, foul moods, anxiety and an oppressive feeling of fear.

The wind speed will be around 2 to 3m per second, he said. Typically the direction of the wind with that speed tends to change easily in a day, he added. The direction of the wind is a key factor in judging possible damage to the environment from radiation leaking from the plant, which was devastated on Friday by Japan's biggest earthquake on record and a subsequent tsunami. South Korea, to the west of Japan, saw little chance of any radiation blowing across its territory. "We see no impact (from Japan's radiation) so far as the current winds are westerlies," said Lee Durk-hun, head of operational safety analysis at the Korea Institute of Nuclear Safety

I have a cat and a dog and actually the dog is sleeping and not hungry - that's actually interesting now that you mention in. The cat is sleeping (but that is not unusual

Our dog was outside as much as I was yesterday - which was an unusually long time for us - maybe 6 hours.

Keep an ear to the ground and your eyes open. It COULD be related to radiation, but keep an open mind just in case it does end up being a warning symptom of an earthquake in your area. You never know. Keep an eye not only on your pets, but other animals as well. And pay attention to moods and irritability in other people, too.

It should also be noted that has already been a confirmed meltdown at two of the reactors and CNN has reported that a 3rd reactor has been confirmed to have failed. Thanks I will. I hear what you're saying regarding energy waves. It's also a good point.

Maybe we're not poisoned, we're ground sick (like sea sick) from undetectable waves.

No.........not really ground sickness in that you are rocking and rolling. Some people and animals are sensitive to whatever it is that builds up before a quake.

And, looking at the data it looks like Cali is having some pretty interesting little quakes all in one region, sooooo...........................be careful. It could be nothing, but, it could be something too. Japan isnt the only place waiting for "the big one."

Yes, we've been watching that. if you look at hisz.rsoe.hu... you can see Calif / Greece-Turkey and Japan - often it's like a tug on one line around the middle.

I had a bad bug with vertigo (which is definitely related to the crud in my ears, not anything else) before this all started. Honestly, if radiation can kill respiratory viruses I think I'll go out and catch raindrops on my tongue.

But it does contribute to my general sense of not-rightness in the world to be so off kilter right now.

Odd timing to find this thread. I was just wondering if I had caught a stomach virus or something, as I've been feeling quite nauseous the past couple of days. No other symptoms though, feel fine otherwise.

Several of my co-workers have been feeling the same thing, so I thought maybe we had spread something amongst ourselves, but no one has fevers or anything like just, just nausea. Started right around the time of the quakes, so no way would it be radiation. Maybe just different energy levels moving around the Pacific?

THANK.YOU.

I've been saying since yesterday morning that soooooo many people were going to get psychosomatic symptoms and perpetuate the fear mongering.

I'd like to state again that there have been NUMEROUS impartial experts who keep saying that the radiation will more than likely not carry as far as everyone thinks it will and that comparisons to Chernobyl in the fallout are inaccurate. Graphite will carry radioactive particles MUCH farther than what will happen should there be fall out from Japan.

Stop thinking about it people, back away from your computer, turn off the news for a few hours, have a drink, listen to some tunes, read a cheery book, go see a movie (preferably not Battle: LA (haha) and you'll see...you'll feel much better
