hey guys i am relatively new to this website and have never posted before just read discussions. I was on a class trip to disney from the 8th-12th of march. i know a shuttle landed i believe it as on the 9th or 10th and we all heard it. but the day after everyone was looking in the sky and saw the wierdest contrail, it was not a plane, (looked exactly like this www.flickr.com...@N03/3370741163) ive been researching but cannot figure what it was can anyone explain?

Welcome to ATS. What you may have seen would have been this:

March 11, 2011 • Delta 4 • NROL-27
Launch Time: TBD
Launch Site: SLC-37B, Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Florida
The United Launch Alliance Delta 4 rocket will launch a classified spy satellite cargo for the U.S. National Reconnaissance Office.

Kennedy Space Center Launch Schedule

Yes, they announce the "secret" launches, too.
edit on 13-3-2011 by DJW001 because: Edit to correct typo.

Yes, ditto on the Welcome!
...and I really would appreciate it if our government would spend OUR MONEY more frugally, in ways that would really HELP the American economy. Spy satellite indeed! This huge expense helps my everyday life... HOW? The info they gather is 'for their eyes only' funded by our shrinking dollars only! A little less paranoia, please, Uncle Sam!!!

No, That is what you saw, I saw it also. It kinda did a barrel role corkscrew contrail pattern because of winds.
