a nuclear reaction doesnt necessarily mean an explosion or anything. From what I understand, if you have enough raw radioactive material together/close enough, it starts to ionize the air or something along that line.

Theres actually a funny-ish story about this from the manhattan project when they realized this happens. I guess they almost took out a stadium or something. Heard the story long ago in middle school in my history class, so dont quote me on it!

You do realize how silly this thread is right? Let me put this into perspective......WE DROPPED NUCLEAR BOMBS ON JAPAN BEFORE....The jet stream didn't carry all of that nasty radiation strait over to the US now did it?

Don't know.
DID IT?

You think the US government would have told us if it did?

Nah,
Don't sweat it. They would never lie or conceal any thing like that.

Right?

News keeps saying radiation and temps are down?

Any validity to this?

Nuclear Radiation is not all that is happening in Japan...
So many vehicles turned over and are spilling the contents in the water...gas, battery acid, fuel tanks, chemicals, hazard cargo.
Pets, and other animals have drown, and human life...all this will create bacteria. Just let your mind take in all that has happen in Japan.
Telling everyone to stay in his or her house to avoid contact with Radiation! What!! You cannot hide from air entering your home. Just think about when you are in the house and you can smell your neighbor BBQ.
Than what will happen to all the radiation that falls down on your house, property, and children’s swing sets.
You cannot wash radiation off anything; it is there for many years.
Yes, the winds will carry it along for innumerable miles.

Just my thoughts.

Wow - thanks for that Valhall!

If the radiation was 1000 times BEFORE the explosion, the question is: where was it from???

I am rather startled by that to say the least.

No doubt you have seen my other posts so I won't repeat myself except to say I'm pretty sure the reactor HAS exploded, and the core WAS exposed. What they are reporting does not make sense.

I posted in this thread, too: www.abovetopsecret.com...

Ok so um I am not really sure how to respond to you except: Again I live in Nevada, actually Las Vegas to be exact where they tested the first nuclear bomb... remember that...following me so far?? Thousands of people thought it a good idea to sit by and watch this bomb explode...those very people have died of funky cancers and #...
OK are you still following me? Well, they and their families had to sue the U.S. government to get the medical care taken care of because GUESS WHAT?? The U.S. government DID NOT tell us that is would be too dangerous to be around...So you think they would tell us if we were exposed when we bombed them? HA! Look at what happens during tornado warnings...Do they give you enough time to be prepared to lose everything? I mean come on!

And re: to everyone else --- Thanks and yeah I am already prepared just in case....I'm sure it's worse case scenario, but never hurts to be ready! Scrambling out to get supplies last minute is simply not in my repertoire!

I would assume from the venting. They had already started venting prior to the explosion.

Hardly.
Media seeks for disclosure, but now all they are doing is speculating.
They think the Japanese government is disingenuous.

Fractured Facade says:

Just look up the jet stream winds... That will carry it exactly as I said.

Not rocket science.... Lets hope they can minimize or contain the release, if it gets into the prevailing winds and jet stream... well, it wont be good.

Please understand that I'm being serious with the following question--this area is not my forte, okay? If the above is a cause for concern, then why was there no "fallout" here (USA) after two bombs were dropped on Japan during WWII? What is different this time?

Always wondered how they can find sufficient numbers of people who would volunteer their lives to work on containment of sister reactors when the #1's core is partially melted and the steam cloud is deadly at that proximity.

I hope they're not using young soldiers, while diminishing the risk.

And why would a soldier be punished for refusing by going AWOL under that environment/conditions?

Not guilty, your honor!

The bombs dropped on nagasaki and hiroshima were PUNY(compared to todays bomb and radiation wise, although still horrible). The radiation that would be released from a meltdown here ( annd im guesing when i say this ) would probally have more radiation then 5000 of the bombs dropped on hiroshima and nagasaki. IT is horrible what happened there, but why do you think people can still live there. Because the radiation from the bombs dropped weren't nearly anything compared to todays nukes, and the radiation that would be released from a meltdown

Another Japan nuclear reactor fails
A third reactor at the Fukushima No. 1 plant loses its emergency cooling capacity, bringing to six the number of reactors that have failed at the two Fukushima nuclear power plants since the earthquake and tsunami...

The two atomic bombs were highly ineffecient compared to our nuclear factories and bombs. That's why there was little radioactivity, those bombs were dinky in terms of radioactivity.

Something just crossed my mind....has anyone seen any live footage of the Nuclear Plants since that explosion, and if not why not? I know I haven't.

Where are we anyway, last I heard one is confirmed in meltdown process whilst 6 cores are now at risk. Is taht where we all are? Thankyou
