What can we make of this?
I think it's a bit beyond suspicious.

America Hosts 76 percent of Islamic Terrorist Websites
by Sean Beesley

While America and the world combat terror, it appears that the terrorists and their supporters themselves are tapping into Americas booming web hosting industry to spread their venom.

With the war on terror in full swing and terrorists scrambling to reorganize and regroup, the anonymous nature of the Internet has become an essential tool. As we often hear in news reports terrorists and their supporters have become more reliant on websites, message boards and chat rooms to communicate, rally supporters, and grotesquely display their barbaric acts of beheading to the world. We in the western world generally assume that these sites are set up and run in some remote Middle Eastern country spewing their hate to the world from afar. However, the first instalment of new report by MEMRI (Middle Middle East Media Research Institute) has a shocking revelation.

It is not surprising or suspicous that the webhosts are mainly in the US. this is a free country and as the article states below hosting companies have content restrictions, it is not sure if all hosting companies are capable of screening out these sites in a timely manner. I guess these hosting sites need to hire translators so they can monitor their sites which are created in foreign languages. It is all about money as you know, eventually someone identifies the site and it is shut down, only to be opened up again at another site in another name. The terrorists are simply exploiting some of the freedom we enjoy and they envy.....

From same article posted above:

In general, hosting companies have general terms and conditions regarding content that they require their clients to agree to. The majority of these terms state that the dissemination of hate is prohibited. However, with a large increase in third party subcontracting of hosting services and thousands of news sites emerging everyday, it is not know how widely these conditions are enforced. Canada Free Press is presently contacting the companies listed in the report as to their comments.

One would think the content of sites would be more closely monitered.

The matter only confirms a theory or two of mine.

I think there might be two reasons for it: One is that the US has the largest number of hosting machines around... and the second might be sheer bravado. What could be more amusing than hosting anti-US information on US webservers?

One would also think the US government would be hot on those trails. If they're so serious about fighting the war on terror, you'd think they'd clean house - with relative ease. Again, suspicions confirmed.

Yeah I also don't understand what the Pentagon is doing i know for a fact that they have a whole batch of computer geniuses who do nothing all day but monitor the systems of Americas main computer servers for hacking as and cyber attack now these same people at the pentagon ate all captured hackers employed by the pentagons so they could with relative ease hack into these Islamic websites and shut them down if they wanted to so why wont they?

Why shut them down when you can just keep a list of anyone that visits or posts. I bet at least a few of those sites are US govt. run by your friendly CIA webmaster.

The FBI has kiddie porn sites. Why not the CIA with terrorists sites?

How do they envy your freedoms if they are themselves free to partake in it? Isnt that why your military has gone into Iraq? To liberate and spread all of this freedom that they envy so much? Sounds like you are towing the line there without really thinking about what you're saying.

There is another line you could tow which would be something like "Terrorists hate our freedom". Which is probably not at all true, but is propaganga all the same. I mean, whats the difference eh?

What easier way to monitor your enemy but to 'host' their sites.
"Have you ever heard "keep your friends close, but you enemies closer?"

An arguement that those who host the sites are supporting terror is like the stating "drugs support terrorism". As stated earlier in the post, we are a free country and those who run or access the sites are experiencing some of the freedoms we have as Americans. Maybe if more saw not the "EVIL BUSH WEST", but that this country is also powered by a underprivelaged middle class society dominated by a goverment where you have little say in policy, maybe thay would show empathyand not show so much hate. Realize there are more similarities than differences.Hate is wired into these some of these people jsut as an abused boy 'can' grow up to continue the cycle when he gets older. I say give them the internet, let them surf porn and let their mind be opened to the West. and let the NSA monitor every keystroke,e-mail and site they hit.

No, I wouldn't say hate, envy maybe, the terrorists are known for exploiting their own, (poor, oppressed, undereducated), brainwashing them, they know if freedom spreads in the middle east and more of the world is opened up, the terrorists could lose control of those they manipulate. It is about educating these or any people that while there are some things wrong in a free society, as a whole it is a far better situation than the one they are living under.

I am not towing any line here, just emptying my thoughts here so I don't have to carry them around in the limited cranial space I have been alotted....

Just about anyone with a computer, internet connection, and little knowlege can host a website. It's not hard at all. Running one right now off a computer worth about $50 on a cable connection. Would be more difficult for all these sites to be tracked down.

I'm sure plenty of them are actually US government sites. And yes, they probly do have a nice fat list of everyone who posts there.

As far as that 'they hate our freedom' rhetoric, I've heard all of that shizzit I can take. It's pure, mindless propaganda.

Speaking of propaganda, I was watching the John Stewart Show the other day and he was showing clips of all the good Republicans, in lock step - or lock-jawed, I should say - spewing the exact same phrases on all the different shows they appeared on. It was hillarious. And so idiotic. But, that's nothing new.
