Today was/is the day of rage in some Middle Eastern countries . . .

Psalm 46:6 - The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: he uttered his voice, the earth melted.

The heathen raged - day of rage?

the kingdoms were moved - japan earthquake, possibly more coming?

he uttered his voice, the earth melted - volcanoes that erupted immediately after the earthquake? Dreaded nuclear meltdown?

If the reactor goes into meltdown, it will be the cherry on top. Too weird.

Not saying I necessarily subscribe to this, but it is just weird

It's up. I had a brain fart and pressed enter instead of tab. I posted an empty thread

Actually you should replace the nuclear meltdown with the three volcanos that erupted hours after the earthquake, Mount Karangetang, one of Indonesia's most active volcanos, and the two simultaneous eruptions in Kamchatka, Russia.

The sun came up this morning. Is that a coincidence or a Biblical prophesy. Where in the Bible one might say? Well give me an hour or so and a thousands monkeys thumbing through it and we'll come up with something.

That is a horrible comparison to OP's examples. His are rare examples possibly coming true, yours happens every day...

I am usually not one to find any interest in predictions. But lately I have been somewhat of a gullible fool

I think you did a great job OP by making these connections. It certainly is an interesting time to just sit back and watch the news. Let's all hope everything settles down. It seems many of the bible prophecies have been coming true as of late. Also many other cultures such as the Hopi and Mayans say this is a time of change.

Psalm 46
For the director of music. Of the Sons of Korah. According to alamoth. A song.

1 God is our refuge and strength,
an ever-present help in trouble.
2 Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way
and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,
3 though its waters roar and foam
and the mountains quake with their surging.

4 There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God,
the holy place where the Most High dwells.
5 God is within her, she will not fall;
God will help her at break of day.
6 Nations are in uproar, kingdoms fall;
he lifts his voice, the earth melts.

7 The LORD Almighty is with us;
the God of Jacob is our fortress.

8 Come and see what the LORD has done,
the desolations he has brought on the earth.
9 He makes wars cease
to the ends of the earth.
He breaks the bow and shatters the spear;
he burns the shields[d] with fire.
10 He says, “Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth.”

11 The LORD Almighty is with us;
the God of Jacob is our fortress.

Yes, I admit it was a dramatic comparison. My bad.

My point in the post being that the Bible is such a broad collection of ideas and conclusions and predictions and moral inspirations and allegories and metaphores and fables that it is bound to predict just about anything that one would want to validate with Divine Forsight.

Just because it is a song does not mean it can't be prophetic.

Just for an example . . . see Psalm 22, which Matthew quoted to show that Jesus met the criteria of the Messiah.

For fairness' sake, Here is a link to Psalm 46 with links to Strong's Concordance linked in

you know what, i agree with you. Its like saying "I predict in the future a world leader will be shot" and when it happens, people will say that it was a prediction, when in fact world leaders have been assassinated all though out time. I take back my other comment because people can make any historical prediction twist and bend until it seems just the same as a specific current event.

What if he says that there were riots, and a king was shot, and his castle destroyed? It would pin down the correct scenario better, would it not?

The more descriptors there are, the more difficult it is to say "well this happens all the time."

That is what is wrong with people who DO say that . . . they only look at one thing (i.e. wars and rumors of wars and earthquakes in various places) and say "We have always had those! It proves nothing!"

When, in fact, if you take all the puzzle pieces and put it together, you get a better picture that shows it does not happen all the time.

So please show me proof of nations that are in tumultuous times, along with kingdoms being shaken, and the land melting.

Your graciousness becomes you. And for full disclosure I must admit the harshness of my original post was somewhat due to external circumstances.

See you around.

Now seeing that there was a big volcano eruption . . . Kind of lends a bit of credence, eh?
