You seem to truly have an inside source, sir.

Do you know how extensive they are expecting the uninhabitable zone to eventually be? I am thinking the northern third or so of the islands, but local prevailing wind patterns, water tables, and terrain will have an effect.

Huh. Asians are a very small minority of the stem cell donor databases. Very small. Out of race matches are less likely.

I'm on the list in Canada. I happen to be an odd ball of European descent with some factors that make me more likely than usual to match to Asians. Never occurred to me I might get a call in the next couple of weeks.

They should probably extend their call out to Canada/US/Australia - caucasians are more likely to be on the stem cell donor lists and there is a good chance that some of those nation's people are actually of mixed race Eurasian - not that uncommon here. It might up their chances of finding a match.

(I have a number of friends who look completely European, but have ancestors who are native, polynesian, chinese. Natives North Americans may have factors that make them more likely to match Asians, making these populations of "caucasians" to be more likely to have matches than Europe.)

You and me both. I'm 7% Asian and 93% Northern Euro. They should extend it to the US! I'm on the national bone marrow registry here and have been for years. I would gladly help.

The traders know what the MSM knows.... and probably understand the situation about as well. They are all being told what was happening, not what has to happen next. Still, a friend of mine this morning mentioned that all the indexes he saw were down significantly.

The stock market is a gambling casino... and right now no one is quite ready to bet completely against Japan. Although if it were me, I would be selling anything Japanese-related minutes after the quake hit.

The fastest way to lose your shirt in the stock market is to follow the trend.

Traders are emotional idiots for the most part, with over-developed herd instincts. They believe the official unemployment, inflation and growth numbers, for goodness sakes! I watch the vatious stock channels and have heard some of the absolute stupidest analysis I've heard in years the past few days.

Most can't wrap their heads around the scale of the disaster and think the Japanese economy will recover swiftly and the world economy will find "opportunity" in disaster....idiots, all of them. Worse, uncaring and selfish idiots. [

Have to agree with you LOL!!! But these guys front run all the news they get it before we do.. That's a fact.. If something real bad happens the market will trade down before you even open the pages on ATS..

They will probably not be buying anymore US bonds any time soon. Furthermore there is a distinct possibility that they will SELL U.S. bonds to help pay for the economic an natural disasters(not to mention the nuclear meltdowns). They may cause a sell-off of US bonds...

There's no way to tell, but I think this crisis has a big wallop for the global economy yet realized.
I'm preparing for it, I recommend everyone else make preparations as well. If I'm wrong, no harm done.
If I'm right, you'll have prepared a little.

This means food and ammo for those that can afford it.

Right now according to my sources in Japan, there is a huge discussion going on about this involving the Japanese government and international agencies. There are many in the Japanese government that can't come to grips with the reality that there will a large part of the population that will have to be moved permanently. I have not heard about how large the exclusion zone would have to be. The true scope of the disaster has yet to be revealed.

Some are still holding out hope that this can be avoided. The reality is that there is not much left to do about it, #2 reactor container has cracks, it will not hold water to cool the fuel rods. Conditions at #1 and #3 are deteriorating. The situation at #4 is very bad with the pool where the spend fuel rods are being stored is boiling and is evaporating quickly. Workers are afraid and some have simply left their post and took off. Very sad indeed.

Would you please post a link to support this claim. If you can't post a link then I ask you kindly to retract this statement.

Why? Because up until only hours ago these people were putting their lives on the line for the world and they do NOT deserve slander of any kind.

If it's truth, fine, but I'm asking you to back it up. If they are in fact leaving their posts at this point? Do you blame them? No, I don't think you do, but, that isn't my point. Please provide a source for your claims.

Added note: I've heard NOTHING on USTWRAP OR YokosoNews about any workers leaving their posts and Yokoso is giving up to the minute updates LIVE and from Tokyo.

Ow-che-wa-wa!

I had not even considered that effect until now. Do you have any information on how many of our bonds they are holding? Because you are right; they will have to sell them off, and I have no idea how we are gonna pay for that.

In reality, the USA will be paying for the damage, just to repay what we owe them. Prepare indeed!

He has an inside connection and is sharing information with us. Everything he has said before this has been pretty much spot on. In my personal opinion, I believe what he is saying. I understand the need for links to verify statements being made but sometimes an inside connection is of the most help.

Thanks for the prompt response. That is my main concern right now: how much of the island is lost?

I agree completely with your assessment of the damage. Please keep us updated on how much land has been permanently destroyed.

. Workers are afraid and some have simply left their post and took off. Very sad indeed.

Mr Kan urged the company to keep key personnel at the site after it evacuated 740 non-essential staff from the station, leaving a skeleton crew of 50. Referring to the group now widely known in English as the ‘Fukushima 50’, Mr Kan said: “You are the only ones who can resolve the crisis. Retreat is unthinkable. (source: ceospaceblog see below)”

Regarding people leaving the plant
The Financial Times and others report that Prime Minister Kan was absolutely against letting operators leave their posts at the plant... ..
Yet, TEPCO ordered all workers out apart from the famous Fukushima 50.
Do you mean that now some of the last 50 workers have also left?

Yes, please do not silence our inside sources. Statements which are later being proven true at the rate of 100% cannot be silenced because of a lack of source quote. That would defy common sense. It's like an 80 year old man being carded for a beer.

I am getting my information from people on the ground in Japan that have knowledge about what is going on there. I am speaking to them directly so there is no link I can provide for you. If you check all my posts in this thread what I have posted has turned out to be true. My contacts in Japan told me yesterday morning that there would be a hydrogen explosion in reactor #2 and this was expected. Later that day it did explode. They also said the evacuation zone was going to be extended from the intial 3km and hours later is was reported that in fact it was extended.

I did not say all the workers left, some have left their posts because of the radiation fear. That is what I was told. I can only go by what they say and so far they have been right.

I am trying to relay information that you will not find from the MSM. If you want links there are plenty of sites for that. I am doing real reporting.

They won't sell all our bonds they will use them as collateral to get cash, Japan owns a lot of our Bonds we have been selling them are debt for awhile. Also a lot of buyers came into the market about lunch time, Also there was huge gold selling today as well as Oil.. If the worse case happens to Japan the Market will front run that move before you have a chance to give a excellent analysis of it.. That's just how it works,,

I will try to get clarification about that. My understanding is that they were talking about some of the 50 workers that remained behind.
