The extraordinary image of a smoke ring emitted by the sun and captured by an amateur astronomer

Got to say, I'm amazed at these photos. Amateur? This is what you can do these days with amateur equipment? These are some of the finest photos of the Sun I've ever seen. That smoke is the aftermath of a solar flare.

That's what I thought when I first saw the pics, when I saw the article title I had this image of a big halo like cloud. I just went with the headline of the article, still very awesome though.

Looks like the hazy clouds UFOs leave behind but the Sun is
activated by Billions of volts and UFOs might only have one
millions volts at their command.

Just look like normal solar flares to me, but the colours have been changed so they resemble clouds, the sun isnt actually that colour.

And solar flares are particles of supercharged matter, they dont give off smoke. The sun isnt actually on fire,there's no oxygen.
Fires are caused by chemical reactions, the sun is powered by nuclear fussion, so there's no flames or smoke.

Still, the pictures are pretty cool

The sun looks like a giant ball covered in flawless wheat fields. Amazing.

Almost looks like an atmosphere.
Don't know if it's actually "smoke" though, wouldn't there actually have to be an atmosphere for there to be smoke?
