Adding to this are the arrival times and the high tides. Here is a map of the arrival times:

Here is a source to find your high tide:

TIDES

I estimate that our high tide will be whithin a half hour of any possible tsunami.

This is real. Everyone needs to take note and prepare. If you live on or near the coast or know anyone that lives on or near the coast on the PACIFC RIM, you need to monitor this and evacuate if needed.

Tsunami Advisory Issued for Washington Coast

LINK

This from the local seattle news:

SEATTLE, Wash. - The National Weather Service in Seattle has issued a tsunami advisory for the northern and central Washington coast. The advisory was triggered by a magnitude 8.9 earthquake that struck near the east coast of Japan. The initial wave on the Washington coast is expected around 7:05 A.M. More information will be posted as soon as it is available.

I will say it again: This is real.

Please ignore all attention seeking statements. They have been alerted.

A source in seattle has told me they said on the radio that the wave is expected to only be about a foot high....if this holds true, then it will only affect low-lying areas right near the beach.

I will update with any new info.

I'm a good 20 miles off the coast and at around 1300 feet elevation so I don't think its coming anywhere near me, but am definitely warning my family that lives on the shores in NorCal. Hopefully it doesn't intensify as it comes across the pacific, Japan got it bad already. Thanks for the heads up OP.

Taiwan is getting hit with smaller waves than expected.

That's good news that the Tsunamis might not be as powerful.

News says Pearl Harbor is expecting a 3 meter wave. Will not move the fleet. Won't that initial wave just get bigger as it travels across the Pacific towards me????

Have you heard anything about the size?

I would think it won't be big by the time it gets here, but I honestly don't know how big is considered 'big'?

I mean, 1 foot doesn't seem like much, but they are not going to issue evacuations if it isn't warranted.

Also, I just heard that ocean bouys are showing one meter rise, which is apparantly very significant of a large wave.

I won't be sleeping tonight.
