Just read this on CNN, interesting stuff. Sorry if it was posted, I have been more focused on the nuclear situation in a different thread.

Meanwhile, the March 11 tremors shifted the Oshika Peninsula near the epicenter by just over 17 feet and dropped it by just over 4 feet, the Geospatial Information Authority in Tsukuba, Japan, reported Saturday. Those two land mass movements are records for Japan, according to government figures.

I just find this to be truly incredible!

Another weirdo.
This one was on land near Fukushima, and deeper than what was being registered (about 25km)...

I have been watching it but it seems like there isn't a whole lot going on..looks like the tremors in Japan may be diminishing in magnitude even though the shaking is still pretty frequent...

In my opinion, the Earth is long over due for a cataclysmic overhaul. The long term effects of the human population has seriously eroded the integrity of the Earths ability to withstand much more of it. You cannot suck trillions of gallons of petroleum out of the crust, burn it up and send the pollutants into the atmosphere and not have an after affect...
One of the major problems is that the earth is like a gyroscope...that tries to balance itself as it spins on its axis, and is pulled along its pathway in the solar system.
Removing the internal solids and liquids that helps her stay balanced, throws off the truing counterbalancing it achieved eons ago.
You cannot pave the planets surface with millions of miles of asphalt and concrete and not think that it will not have a surfacing reactions...i.e/ billions of tons of vehicle haulage constantly vibrating and continuously sending shock waves of sound and ground pounding through the upper surface has an effect. Stand next to a high way while cars, trucks, buses, trains whiz by and feel the constant ground vibration it causes...
When you can feel a semi tractor roll by on the top floor of a six story building, it is sending serious shock waves into the ground as well!
Building massive projects like the three gorges damn, is an artificial and unnaturally placed weight that is throwing off the earths spin...think of it like a wheel that is out of balance. It wobbles and vibrates! The Earth is reeling because of mans ignorance and arrogance...
For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction! This applies to everything. " EVERYTHING! " Keep this in mind, as we watch the Earth retaliate.

I have wondered for years what the all the tire dust that is ground away on pavement is doing to the environment long term. Billions of tires have been worn down, putting the ground up residue into the air, ground and waterways. That can't be a good thing!
The Environmentalists will bitch about car exhaust, but they say nothing about the deadly rocket exhaust of a space shuttle launch. Air transportation daily spews more toxins into the air than internal combustion engines.

I could go on and on...but I think you understand my point. Ten billion humans are messing with the Earths natural cycles...and it will react...Violently! And it should!

Mankind is stupid enough to think that he can do whatever the hell he wants, and Gia has no say on the matter.
Well, a huge serving whoop-ass is about to dished out. The age of tears is about to befall us! Get ready of it...

That's because the big rockets burn hydrogen and oxygen and the exhaust is WATER, which you can then split up via electrolysis into hydrogen and oxygen

Well Mother Earth shook pretty good that time, moving Japan 8 feet and knocking herself out of tilt by 4 inches (or degrees, (forget which) Nothing man can do can move the earth like that

it seems like this thread is dead now ... any new updates about nuclear crisis? What's with the Fukushima? How long the environment wont be suitable to live there? Any other major concerns?

I know the death toll riched 12.000 and 15.000 are still missing, costs of the quake are allready above 300 billion dollars and rising which is much more of what was expected.

P.S.: Seems like every major disaster in the world is just part of the statistics and nothing more.
