I know its probably pointless me posting this as the thread has already gone off topic SO many times its barely worth checking in on any more but there is a thread regarding earthquakes in general in the Fragile Earth Forum.... Quake Watch 2011 and a post about Northern Cali having a 3.3 is probably better off there in that you might get more responses etc.

ABC News: U.S. Officials Alarmed By Japanese Handling of Nuclear Crisis
Things are not OK, listen carefully. I'm genuinely worried for the future of Japan.

At the least if people can spray using firehose then why not RC mechanical robots? But then again I also heard about the 'Kamikaze' culture and how the Nuke Power Plant employees were willing to give the ultimate sacrifice (their lives) to save the plant and their country. Only Japananese can do that.

Oh, I don't know about that. I understand where you are coming from; however, approximately 350 firefighters and paramedics made that ultimate sacrifice on 9/11 in NYC. There are selfless heroes in every community around the planet. These Japanese heroes are only the most recent members of that club.

Not to diminish the above mentioned sacrifice, but doing something you know might cost you your life, heroic as it may be, is a bit different from doing something guaranteed to kill you.

Really? Everything i have heard/read indicates that the potential to die is high, but is not a guarantee....they are wearing contamination suits. Got a link that says otherwise?

No. I was commenting on Kamakazi/Japanese culture comments.

I know you will not like this angle from which I am quoting but if you look at the similarities it is quite striking because they seem to fit. I am starting to wonder what if Babylon like it mentions sitting on many waters be cities are near the coast were they bring in trade and those cities will be brought to ruin in the way they are described in the quote below. This may be a precursor of what to expect when Babylon falls in the future and some say it is America some say many cities but I say Iraq because it mentions the River Euphraties.

Revelation 18

Warning to Escape Babylon’s Judgment

4 Then I heard another voice from heaven say:
“‘Come out of her, my people,’
so that you will not share in her sins,
so that you will not receive any of her plagues;
5 for her sins are piled up to heaven,
and God has remembered her crimes.
6 Give back to her as she has given;
pay her back double for what she has done.
Pour her a double portion from her own cup.
7 Give her as much torment and grief
as the glory and luxury she gave herself.
In her heart she boasts,
‘I sit enthroned as queen.
I am not a widow;[c]
I will never mourn.’
8 Therefore in one day her plagues will overtake her:
death, mourning and famine.
She will be consumed by fire,
for mighty is the Lord God who judges her.

Threefold Woe Over Babylon’s Fall
9 “When the kings of the earth who committed adultery with her and shared her luxury see the smoke of her burning, they will weep and mourn over her. 10 Terrified at her torment, they will stand far off and cry:
“‘Woe! Woe to you, great city,
you mighty city of Babylon!
In one hour your doom has come!’

11 “The merchants of the earth will weep and mourn over her because no one buys their cargoes anymore— 12 cargoes of gold, silver, precious stones and pearls; fine linen, purple, silk and scarlet cloth; every sort of citron wood, and articles of every kind made of ivory, costly wood, bronze, iron and marble; 13 cargoes of cinnamon and spice, of incense, myrrh and frankincense, of wine and olive oil, of fine flour and wheat; cattle and sheep; horses and carriages; and human beings sold as slaves.

14 “They will say, ‘The fruit you longed for is gone from you. All your luxury and splendor have vanished, never to be recovered.’ 15 The merchants who sold these things and gained their wealth from her will stand far off, terrified at her torment. They will weep and mourn 16 and cry out:

“‘Woe! Woe to you, great city,
dressed in fine linen, purple and scarlet,
and glittering with gold, precious stones and pearls!
17 In one hour such great wealth has been brought to ruin!’

“Every sea captain, and all who travel by ship, the sailors, and all who earn their living from the sea, will stand far off. 18 When they see the smoke of her burning, they will exclaim, ‘Was there ever a city like this great city?’ 19 They will throw dust on their heads, and with weeping and mourning cry out:

“‘Woe! Woe to you, great city,
where all who had ships on the sea
became rich through her wealth!
In one hour she has been brought to ruin!’

Similarities

Many nationals been told to go back home, come out of her.

Consumed with fire and mourning and famine.

People of the world will be terrified like many are by watching the news footage and mourn.

Effect of the economy cargos and materials the effect of trade via ships which have been destroyed by the tsunami.

Plagues like one disaster after another, earthquake, tsunami, death, famine, radiation and smoke and now snow.

Smoke from her burning people stand far off, radiation smoke people are staying far off.

What do you think?

A 3.3 in Northern California is not unusual. That's almost an every day event.

I would be more concerned with Southern California. 4 and 5's have been going off in the Gulf of California for days now.

Is it possible to locate the quakes that hit Japan, starting with the 9.0 in what order they hit ?
I ask because maybe we can see a pattern ?
Looking at USGS you can just see a cluster of squares. It would be nice to see a numbered order of epicenter.

  • I haven't seen any reports of voices from heaven.
  • I don't get what it is that makes Japan so wiked in comparison to other places.
  • I don't think Japan is a big producer of wood, metals and marble, nor cinnamon and spice or myrrh and frankensense and olive oil. Horses? Slaves? Had it said PS3's or Mario Games you might have been on to something.
  • The store shelves may be less than abundant, but no famine that I can see and no plagues.

It is based on what someone heard, the person who wrote this said a voice from heaven. Sound is now digital it travels through the air and space and maybe the description of the vision is the description of how we will pick it up which is from space via sattelites.

I still have to look into the material side as they too could be symbolic but there are similarities I never said it was The Babylon as predicted, when Babylon does fall this is how people will be like as we are now watching Japan. If Babylon are many cities then it must be a combined network trade of materials and I am sure most of them mentioned can be ticked off, slaves today could be seen as illegal imigrants and traffickers.

You can get a list in sequence of events

At USGS
earthquake.usgs.gov... I usually just look at the 5.0 plus list
or pick by country/region

You mean God the Destroyer? Well odd that but I read somewhere in a book that says he promised not to wipe us out with flooding anymore, something about rainbows as a sign to seal the deal..

That Tsunami looked like water to me...

Reporting a quake from Younstown Ohio, USA -

Mahoning County has felt ground motion from other earthquakes before, but until Thursday morning, had never experienced one of its own.

Michael Hansen, coordinator of the Ohio Seismic Network, said a magnitude 2.6 earthquake occurred at 6:53 a.m., its epicenter just east of Salt Springs Road near state Route 193 on the city’s West Side.

Not that common in Ohio. Just saying.

Here's a link to the local paper.

Yeah, I get what you're saying. Words which don't fit reality can be rebranded as metaphors which then allows them to be twisted to mean anything and fit any facts (always after the fact, of course).

I think you need to pay attention to the specifics there Zorgon. Chapter 9 verse 15 of the Book of Genesis (King James edition) says...

"And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh."

His specific words were, "and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy ALL flesh." This is not a blanket statement to the effect that there will never be flooding which kills humans again, merely that he will never again seek to purge the Earth with flooding, killing everyone and everything but a small flock of faithful folks on a boat rammed with animals.
Its a pretty specific promise if you examine it. You have to remember that in the Noahs Ark story, EVERYTHING but that which resided on the Ark drowned and died. Thats everything everywhere on the planet. Water covered even the highest peaks, so that no dry land existed anywhere on the planet. God promised that THAT specific event would never be replicated, not that flooding would be banished from the world for all time!

Wow, Bible discussion? Isn't that better served in the Religion forum, or the BTS side? Can we get back on topic here, ie, the quakes continuing, rescue efforts, etc?
