I see someone on another site says there is also smoke rising from an unknown source in reacter 3 aswell, can anyone confirm?

Lets take a gander at what that white plume cloud the *smoke* that is pouring out of
the reactor contains...

Maybe radioactive gas with plutonium in it?

The rods are exposed. This is a full scale meltdown. they are lying they say anything else now.

Been a lurker for a couple of months but felt that now was the time to 'sign-up' after seeing the fantastic job you guys have done with this developing story.

Now is it just me or are the media (or certainly that which i can access from the UK) really downplaying the third explosion? Surely this has got to be really seriously bad? And why no video yet - the world's media is camped on its door step and nothing?

This really isn't a funny comment given the circumstances the Japanese are in and what they have already gone through.

Can someone tell me what page the Japanese geiger counter is on. I cannot recall and this thread is pretty long.

-_- This isn't good news. That's going towards Japan. Be above the ignorance, just because the US is not effected doesn't mean the rest of the world isn't.

Not quite so my friend.
It's only a full metldown if the fuel melts thru the bottom of the container, which as far as is known, has not happened yet.
Granted, it could happen and that would be horrendous, but there's no evidence of this at this time from any report I can find.
Here's hoping a full meltdown can still be avoided.

13.3 in Tokyo Geiger counter? If the other site showing the US radiation count (unless they were using a different system) some states had nearly four times that!

Reactor no.2 is in full meltdown
Reactor no.1 had the roof blow off which is where they store spent fuel rods
Reactor no.3 had 2 explosions and the outer building is demolished and may also have cracks in the containment vessel

That's the status at Fukishimia no.1

I have a question on this geiger counter.

I noticed that it says 1 hour 10 minutes. It said that about 4 hours ago. Is this live, is the person resetting the thing, or is a looped video? I am curious because I will watch it if it is legit.

I do not want to be staring at a looped video for hours...

I saw on Reuters some time ago that one Japanese real-time radiation website had crashed due to an influx of viewers abroad...sooo, lets leave those sites to the people directly affected, and for us in the states, lets keep an eye on the U.S. Radiation Network.
