As much as I hope they don't, I canrt see why it would not be possible..

focus has been on this main one where the building blew up, so time, energy and resources may have been drawn there... meanwhile, all hell breaks loose elsewhere..

sad state of affairs but this seems to be the way it's going...

Calm down these reactors will be fine, there will be no huge melt down....

We are fine in the states, the cloud wouldn't reach this far...

Yup, kinda like the Large Hadron Collider. Until some disaster happens, it's all speculation. Damn I hate TPTB.

nhk completely ignoring this new 6.3 quake (depth 8 miles) right next door to these reactors, compared to yesterday when every quake rolling in received in-depth coverage.

Meltdown is already happening.

What do you base your claim on?

It mainly depends on whether the nuclear fuel can be contained in the reactor somehow or whether it leaks through the floor into the ground. From what I can tell the worst case scenario is if the fuel makes contact with the ground, or more specifically moisture in the ground. It will superheat water into steam and if its a sufficient amount of water could cause a huge explosion which will throw radioactivity along with rubble/debris for many many miles. There was a chernobyl documenary which stated there was a fear this could have happened at chernobyl, there were strong fears for europes safety in that instance, which gives you a rough idea. Not good at all.

If they can stop the fuel getting so hot it gets through to the ground it will probably (based on my amatuer research) not be too bad (by comparison, of course the whole situation is bad already). But problems in more than one reactor obviously increases the chance that the SHTF in any one case.

Listening to Michio Kaku he said there is enough water around japan to keep pouring on the
reactors to keep them cooled down. The worst of the quakes is over....
At best the fear mongering makes things worst..

Lets not turn a blind eye but lets wait and see what happens before we cry the sky is falling.
