When will people learn how to eat healthy and start giving a damn about their waistline? Its sad that this is the course of America and possibly other countries as well.

Because every fat ASS in America chooses to eat like this and then bitch about how much health care costs are going up. Fat waistline = fat health costs.

I agree with you...eat healthy, prepare your food at home and its CHEAPER to live.

Actually, the "death from the menu" thing is spin.
He died of complications from pneumonia - and flu combined, which can kill any person of any age or condition. It seems to me that the people who want the restaurant shut down are trying to use that against the place, when a little research proves otherwise.

It's OK to indulge once in a while as long as it doesn't become a habit. This is not a place where you want to eat your lunch and dinner in, multiple times a week. Everyone should be held responsible for their own actions, including this 29 year old who died from being obese. Is it right to encourage a person of his size to continue to eat meals at that particular establishment? Probably not. Should these restaurants have a cut-off limit for people of his size? I don't know. Bars will cut you off when you can't stand on your own two feet anymore. If you forbid an obese person to eat at McDonalds, isn't that stomping on his freedom to eat wherever he wants?

It is no secret that large portions of fat and sugar will eventually cause health problems. If you don't know that, you must be living under a rock. You have the freedom to eat whatever you want, and also the responsibility to take good care of your body. I don't know who to blame here. Should bars serve alcohol to alcoholics? Should bakeries sell cakes to obese people? Should casinos ban compulsive gamblers? Or should we take personal responsibility for our actions? It's a fine line between aiding an addict and letting big brother tell you how to live your life.

Interesting find. Although fast food chains will still continue business as usual not matter how many people die by their hands. You have a responsibility to keep yourself in shape or share the same fate of the deceased now. Sometimes it's just not worth it for something dangerously tasty.

This is true..but a HEALTHY adult would have more of a chance of survival..As, a normal healthy individual would have a much better immune system..flu and pneumonia on top of a un-healthy immune system..and poor diet is a sure way to drop dead.

You eat fast food every sunday?! How do you stomach that stuff? Last time I saw a McDonalds from the inside was well over a year ago, I remember because I puked it all out a couple of hours later (in all honesty, I was drunk), I noticed how the plastic and cardboard they pass off as 'food' tasted the exact same way coming out as it did going in.

Haven't made myself suffer through any of their meals of anti-food since.

Blame the man, not the restaurant. That restaurant is like a crack shop for obese people. If watching other obese people gulp down burgers and fries in a disgusting manner does not shock a person into being health conscious, NOTHING WILL. I grabbed a carrot after watching the OP video!!!

R.I.P. though.

Hard times call for hard measures. Fast food can be countered by exercising regularly which I do throughout the week. I do not go to the big chain food joints but just the small local restaraunts. When a pound of tomato's cost 2$ or more and a small burger is 99 cents sometimes you have to weight your options.

I don't see the big deal here, fat people, skinny people, white people, black people, etc die everyday. What makes him special? Nothing. There is nothing wrong with being fat, there's nothing wrong with dying young either, death is natural, get over it!

Its amazing what passes by as food these days. I still cant believe this man was past 500 pounds as it is. Its truly weird how the human body can sustain such punishment until the very end when you suffer death from complications.

Myself here I have been through that as in I had an enlarged heart and almost died from it.
I could not breath for the life of me, the doctors told me If I was out of shape/ over weight I would have been a goner.
At the time I worked in a ware house and it was a very physical job to say the least.
I am 6 foot 2 and at the time weighed about 185 lbs.
I still weigh that weight and am still somewhat healthy.

Let me tell you that " Nothing matters if you can't breath"
Trust me been there and done it.
Regards, Iwinder

I knew it wouldn't be long before a sensational thread spinning this mans death would come to light here on ATS. How sad.

One thing to consider: The man was obese. Obesity and Pneumonia, especially complications from pneumonia(of which the man died) are positively correlated in multiple observational studies.

....except, being white, black or skinny doesn't heavily presdispose one to succumb to chronic degenerative diseases of aging; being fat does. It's not about dying. I care because those people could care less about preventative measures and are relying on my tax dollars to keep them alive.
