INDIANAPOLIS – Thousands of union members have gathered outside the Indiana Statehouse, holding signs and chanting to protest bills backed by Republicans who control the General Assembly. Union organizers say more than 200 buses are expected to deliver protesters for the union rally in Indianapolis beginning midday Thursday.

A huge banner hung from the Statehouse's west steps reads "Hoosiers standing up for the middle class." Some workers are wearing hard hats and fluorescent yellow work-vests.

They are holding signs reading "Stop the war on workers" and "We want the American dream."

They are voicing their displeasure with the Republican governor, chanting: "Hey! Hey! Ho! Ho! Mitch Daniels has got to go!" Organizers say it could be Indiana's largest rally in years.

The times are changing. Looks like this is going to spread across the country.
