yep, truly the end of the US Constitution !!!
don't know why every Michigan resident is not headed
to the capital with pitchfork in hand.
This is purely unconstitutional just
like the damn patriot act was.

And I'll bet when that governor appoints
an overseer to come in and take over
a town. I'll bet you $100.00 he will have the
National Guard at his disposal to quell
civil disobedience.

The states or governors can NOT just dismiss
elected officials at will. Any person who votes
yes for this law is a traitor to America.

And who is to say that the corporation the
governor appoints to oversee the town is not
a foreign owned corporation like Sony.
The town's city limit sign will now read.
Owned by China !!!!

what a freakin nightmare.

How come I don’t see anything wrong with it? It is just putting local governments under the same rules as businesses.

If a business files bankrupt, then they send in people that can fire people, replace people, renegotiate agreements, void agreements. Anything that may make the company viable. Or even consider it a lost cause, chop the company up and sell it’s assets.

When a business goes on receivership, it doesn’t mater how many shareholders elected the CEO to his position, if the person appointed to go through the company sees that the CEO is the problem, then he is gone.

This is just along the lines of the same thing for cities/counties.

Currently…. When a city/county goes insolvent, the only thing the state can do is give it more money. They can’t force any of the people out that caused the insolvency!

And insolvency doesn’t just happen on it’s own. The people running the county/city isn’t just helpless victims. They are usually the cause of the problem. But people keep electing them because they like what they do, even if the county/city doesn’t have the money to actually pay for it.

Like a local county here. A local developer had some land in a flood plane that he couldn’t sell. He got his friends in the school board to convince the rest of the people that they needed a new, bigger, better baseball field!!!!!!! So…… guess which land they bought to make the baseball field. You guessed it. How much did they pay for it? Way more than he could get if he sold it for home development. By the end of it, with construction and everything, they was in pretty deep. Come this year, they was facing a million and some shortfall……… Ow wait……. How much did that new baseball field cost?.......... Ow……. Now I get it………

The point is, when you have overgenerous contracts, there is usually someone on the inside that makes that possible. If you void the contract, then the person on the inside will just reinstate it. If you just get rid of the person then the contract is still in force. You have to ditch the contracts, and the people who are awarding them.

No mater how may people elected someone to a government position, if he is the cause of the financial shortfall, then he has to go. There is a breaking point where business can’t go on as usual. We are reaching that breaking point.

Hard when people are so dense for anything to sink in.

IMO, it is time to use violence. All that peace and love crap is NOT they American way, enough is enough and it is time for a serious change and the only way I see a change coming is by violently overthrowing our Gov, and beating the crap out of every elected officials.

Then we get Ron Paul in office and we select new Governors and congress, etc. We know what we need to do! So lets just do it!

I live in Michigan, didn't know anything about this at all. The Wisconsin battle is dominating most of the news. Pretty crazy if true. Quite honestly, I don't know what to make of it.

I posted just after you did. I missed your info as I was writing my post. I wish that was just partisan BS since that would make it nothing to worry about, but since it is passed and in place, it seems as if we are moving in a very wrong political direction. We the people means very little right now.

You stubborn, I WANT TO BE NICE HERE, uneducated hardheaded people on this forum will learn the hard way when the Republicans ruin the country with other Nazi like actions.

I have warned you people but you won’t listen, with your tired old rhetoric about
“The Democrats and Republicans are the same”

This, along with the Wisconsin abomination of taking away collective bargaining rights of workers, and other draconian laws that many Republican legislators are doing across America, such as anti-abortion laws against woman, ARE ALL BEING DONE BY REPUBLICAS and it will get worse.

Ummmmm……… The people elected them. They have the votes. They are doing it totally legally.

How come when the left is ramrodding stuff through in far shadier ways than this, everyone says, “The people elected them, it’s the people’s will just shut up and quit whining about it!”, or, “The republicans need to quite fighting it and compromise!” ?

And yet, when the other side does anything, then they are nazis?

Talk about not wanting to take your medicine.

I'm in favor of this law. This is great. A leader with a pair. I guess Madow and her feminazi allies didn't find a way to castrate this guy in the government controlled education camps. If you want to know that the elites are alarmed by this man, take a look at the insanely biased coverage stacked against him. Have you heard anywhere his response to these allegations? Why don't the counter arguments ever make the news? Try using your noggin sometimes folks and take a look at whats really going on. A key component of the planned takedown of the US, will be the utter insolvency of it's government. This guy poses a real threat to the powers that be. They will probably crush him in the next election with their power of the press. But it's fun watching a little sanity for a change.

These unions have utterly destroyed America and her financial soundness. A lot of these towns are run by crooked leftists and use the public coffer as their own piggy banks. Look what years of socialism has done to Detroit, despite, by the way, the billions that federal and state governments have sent their way.

By the way this is what happens when you throw out God and reject sound moral reasoning. You eventually lose your freedoms as you increasingly demonstrate an inability to govern yourself let alone your local town.

One way or another this is the end game for the mental and moral midgets the elites have spawned in America. But the elites themselves have only a very short time......

WTH is wrong with people? It's plain as day that this law is UNCONSTITUTIONAL, don't let partisanship blind you, this would never hold up in a court of law.

Having the power to sack elected officials at will is not the American way, we already have a way of doing this, it's called impeachment proceedings through the judicial system, not dictatorship powers like this. People need to get there damned heads on right.

What laws do democrats pass but things that are at least somewhat humanistic [ a half ass health care bill] on the other hand we get things like this from Republicans ALL THE TIME.

Or... We can get behind a new approach... A new paradigm. I offer ideas, a foundation in The End of Entropy and a structure in The Ethical Planetarian Party Platform, linked in my sig. If you see something you believe will work, please pass the ideas on to others.

We can choose to move above the dualistic plain at this time, with the level of robotics we have and the Interweb.

It is plain as day that the health care bill is unconstitutional…….. But…. In regard to the state bill we are discussing……… What does the constitution have to do with it?

The constitution doesn’t dictate how the state manages it’s self. In fact, the constitution would support the bill because it would fall under state’s rights.

The Constitution is the one documents that binds and is above the states. It gives little power to the feds - who have run many miles beyond the limit that document affords them. If something is unconstitutional, no state can override it.

The only constitutional amendments that have direct force in the states are the ones that have been incorporated. I don’t know of anything that dictates how a state manages it’s local elected officials. The only thing that would have force over that is the state constitution.

I don't like Maddow, but I love the great state of Michigan.

I grew up in a Union family. My father, who worked very hard to provide for us, retired from Ford Motor Company after 35 years in the UAW. And near the end, he, too, became very disenchanted with the poor work ethic that had seeped into his union brethren. The good news is that he lives happily in Florida now; furthermore, Ford [who did not receive a taxpayer-funded loan] has recovered quite well in the past couple of years.

My mother was a Detroit Public Schools teacher for many, many years as well--also happily retired with my dad in Florida. It would be difficult to explain how frustrated she got with the rampant corruption in the Detroit school system, as well as with that once-glorious [and still great] city and its political sham called city leadership.

Perhaps "political sham" is redundant. I digress...

When you take away a union's right to collective bargaining, you remove its raison d'étre. In other words, what's even the point any more?

It's been said that

If you're not liberal at twenty, you have no heart.
If you're not conservative at thirty, you have no head.

As I get older [into my 30s now], I find myself becoming more conservative. Republican? Hardly. Democrat? Not any more. Two sides of the same de-valued coin. And they actually work for the same people...and it ain't us.

What's going on in Michigan, especially when the idea of corporations (more directly than they already are) running the show, I see a form of fascism. And when I look at some of the elitist, moral relativistic, BIG government moves being made, I see a form of communism.

It's funny how the extreme left and extreme right meet up. Actually, it's terrifying.

And the only solution to living in that fear, as myopic as it may sound, remains being kind to your neighbor. Soon, we may all have to circle the wagons, as communities, against God knows what destructive force.

Stay calm.
