"After all, the chief business of the American people is business. They are profoundly concerned with producing, buying, selling, investing and
prospering in the world."
The 1920s us Americans really knew how to live. The Roaring 20s, elections of President Warren G.
Harding and Calvin Coolidge, government at its smallest point since the beginning of Progressivism, and the prosper of the American people and
economy.
However this prosperous period came to a screeching halt after Herbert Hoover was elected President and began implement activist government policies
which for that time period were hugely intrusive after President Coolidge had only around 5% of the American people actually paying an income tax.
These two videos are amazing and truly capture the spirit of the old Republican Party and the American people when they just wanted a simplistic
government that allows them to pursue their own business without the tax man on their back.
Also below I have added audio of former US President Harrison, the oldest audio recording of any President except the lost audio of Rutherford Hayes,
so this is the oldest still in existence.
The 1950s were great as well on the economic and especially the moral front, however the government was extremely large at that time, not as large as
is today though. But taxes were above 80% and new federal agencies were being implemented, government kept expanding and to me that is not so great.
The morals of the 1950s with the government and economy of the 1920s would be perfect.
