At least if you are a follower of Carl Johan Calleman (Klick!). He is of the opinion that the end of the Mayan grand cycle is on october 28th 2011 instead of december 21/23th 2012.

Here are the 9 Waves of Consciousness with start date and purpose:

1. Cellular – started 16 Billion Year Ago – Action/Reaction
2. Mammalian – 820 millions years ago – Stimulus/Response
3. Familial – started 41 million years ago – Individual
4. Tribal – 2 million year ago – the Mind
5. Cultural – 102,000 years ago – Reason
6. National – 3,115 BC – Law
7. Planetary – 1755 AD – Power
8. Galactic – Jan 4, 1999 – Ethics
9. Unity – March 9, 2011 – Co-creation

Anyway, there is a lot of criticism on Calleman and his theory ( See here for example ) because of some mathematical errors and whatnot but hey, it's the first one that will end so that's fun in it's own right. Enjoy the possibly last cycle of our times!

can we, for once, NOT have an end of the world prediction? or better yet, one that comes true?

the OP talks about the end of a calendar CYCLE and makes no mention of the end of the world. big difference.

as well, the OP states no predictions... simply dates of calendar changes in reference to said cycles.

so keep the flame thrower in the holster, and save it for for the next GFL landing.

March 9th is also the first day of lent for Catholics, including me.

that is because the mayans NEVER predicted the end of the world NEVER!!!! all they did was make a calender that had an ending, wow we make one of those every year too.

don't get me wrong i love the prophecy stuff to a point but noone with half a brain can take any of it seriously.

A few things to mention...

1) The Mayans have not changed their date to adjust for Calleman's math.
2) Calleman's ideas about the evolution of consciousness is different than the Mayan's calendar used for the long count.
3) Nobody else has been able to confirm if the October 28th 2011 date is valid and accurate.

With that said, I still highly recommend understanding his work around the evolution of consciousness, and recommend watching Ian Lungold's videos on this subject.... GREAT work on it.

If you go by their theory... we are still in the cycle of ETHICS, which is what is playing out in the middle-east and around the rest of the world. If you go by the 2012 date, we won't end this cycle until next year.

Watch the entire Ian Lungold video.... highly enlightening.

~Namaste

I like Calleman´s approach. He has good reasons and he explenes, what they are based on. And he doesn´t speak about end of the world, not even end of the cycle and starting new cycle - thet´s what makes his idea interesting to me is, that he thinks, that the end date is one and only, it represent the end of the creation of life, not cycles, that repeat itself. He also criticises, that 2012 theme is very commercialised, many people make profit on it and ridiccule all other possibilities. We´ll see what happens... though major changes are happening all the time around us :-)

Kinda.

The calendar doesn't "end", as many think. It re-starts.

I'm pretty sure that the end section of the calander is known as "end times". Pretty sure the Mayans predicted hectic events for this period.

I shouldn't say "the Mayans" predicted bla bla. The Mayan leader, an alien God made the calendars. Most / all major ancient cultures had real-life alien God leaders. The aliens told me they will return in 2012 so they may once again be our leaders

So why is it the beginning cycles lasted longer then the last two or three cycles? To me its just someone trying to get people to follow them. If the world ends in 2012 as the western cultures are saying, then fine. Wipe the slate clean and start over

A logical explanation for the cycles becoming shorter and shorter is

We are becoming smarter so change will happen sooner - because in order to accept the change one must be smart (enlightened may be a better term).

Are you serious about learning about 2012, or do you simply want to make any excuse to debunk this so you can feel wise and better than the people who examine the data in an un-biased manner? It's a serious question

Huh? There was a thread the other day saying that, according to Caleman, the new cycle began somewhere Feb 11th (or 9th?). Hmmm...

It's here: ATS Thread

Let's say this theory is right, and today is a new day. The rumors of the Irak Dinar RV (re-evaluation) and new economic system based on prosperity would now make sense, as they would greatly and rapidly increase our view of life.

It is rumored it could happen any day now (Dinar RV).

Just to be clear, Calleman's theory isn't about a 'we are all going to die horribly while being eaten by alien reptilian overlords', it's more like Ian lungolds theory of a hightening consciousness and since i'm a fanboy of the RA material, that one is talking about 2011 to in regards to a 'harvest' (again, not a harvest in a getting eaten/destroyed by aliens or something doomandgloomy like that) so who knows? the RA material is regarded by some as one of the very few 'clear' channelings. Not exactly hard-science of course but you can't have everything (yet) Link to the harvest thing
