Alien movies have been around for as long as cinema. Are all these movies attempting to disclose something? Or are they simply a way to gather an audience that enjoys this subject matter in its media and make some money?

This list is by no means complete, and doesn't include foreign films. Feel free to add to it.

In comment: We see many, many posts about every new movie featuring extraterrestrials as a "subtle jab" at disclosure. A way to ease us into the idea that aliens are real. I see no evidence of that being in any way true. Creativity is within the mind of the creator, and every single one of the above movies was created by someone in order to entertain an audience (and make some money in the process).

For those who accept the idea that the above are all (I use the word 'all' because I've seen it occur for every big-budget, and many low budget, movie release since I started reading these forums) an attempt to ease the idea of aliens into the mainstream, I ask what else needs to be done to achieve this?

What if I put a list of zombie movies up, rather than aliens. The list would very likely look much the same, but we wouldn't think twice that it's just a bunch of movies that were created so people could enjoy some cheap scares (though some zombie movies, like alien movies, can be thoughtful). Why does it have to be so different when it's aliens, rather than zombies (or name any other schlock movie monster)?

My second pet peeve is the failure for anyone to actually explain how it's possible that an entire genre of movie can be controlled in order to subvert the culture (other than by societal norms and ordinary zeitgeist, that is). Who is controlling these movies? The government? What about foreign films? What about other types of media, such as books? I've been tangling with an alien story to write just recently, am I now part of this conspiracy?

Mostly, I would like it explained in a way that actually makes sense in a realistic manner, in the real world.

I think movie creators sit in a board room and brainstorm about what movie they can make that keeps up with trending themes on the internet. Zombies was the last one. now its ufos. i bet the next movie trend will be wilderness/resource survival. at the end of the day its about making money off of me and you.

I gave you a star because I think these movies are made to cater to the folks like me that love a good sci-fi flick. Not everything has to be a conspiracy, even though I have had personal experiences of an unexplained nature and have seen flying objects I was unable to identify. People love the mysteries of this world and universe and script writers and directors bank on those interests.

I personally do not believe alien movies are affiliated with any such activity's. Those movies simply display the strange and unusual, from the bowels of our minds the human imagination is capable of extraordinary things and that is what entertains us, fascinates us, and scares us.

I would say that their agenda would be more along the lines of doing the exact opposite of "easing" the public. The majority of the movies listed (Great list, by the way) are all Anti-alien, making the "alien" the antagonist in the plot almost every time.

This observation makes me lean towards the fact that they would rather have us be afraid of E.T life - as fear has been known to be much more manageable in the past than awareness.

Can't forget Halo, the hugely advertised Microsoft video game. The alien scum in this game are even called the Covenant. Bah.

It's nothing new.

Movies like this have been around forever as you just pointed out. It goes around in circles with what is popular.

Vamps were the in thing for a while and then zombies and now ufos/aliens. Personally I like it
I can't wait to see Paul and Battle LA. I like alien themed movies.

How did you get all that long list! Great job!

Certainly, that is a part of Disclosure to humanity that seems reluctant to admit the obvious. The sci-fi literature also flourished in past decades, and it presented even more complete images of what foreign worlds would look like.

Star Wars, although not being the best elaborated characters' movies, still holds the N1 popularity especially among every next young generation.

Rebels TV serials show a different face of Star Wars with the introduction of the young inexperienced Ezra who is influenced deeply with the Force. Many of the battles happen in dark, BTW, something that makes me think of a scenario when the Earth would happen to be in darkness.

I'd wish the Movie makers to be even bolder in their own Disclosure.

If tomorrow Star Wars ships descend from the sky, there won't be panic among the kids. May be among their parents.

The same can be said about love stories, crime and horror stories. And more recently, superheroes.

Godzilla was the man monster. No alien threat had an answer for him.
I used to love those movies ever since I was a kid. I think I've seen every single one. Nice to see him on the list.
