People seem to only care about things are immediately effecting them...so if gas goes to $5, it's hard
for me to imagine any one but the lower class trying to fight or riot since the middle & upper class won't be hit as hard...I also wonder about technology being so extreme that anyone who participates will pay the price...after saying that makes you kind o0f wonder why we have those so called "secret" camps set up across the country?

I know things don't bother us till its in our face and almost to late to do anything..If gas goes up to 5 dollars a gallon it will cost my husband about 50 bucks a day to go to work and come home we sure will feel it!I thought about those "secret" camps the other day sure makes ya wonder..thanks for the reply

Not only am I fairly new here, but I'm not the sharpest bulb in the drawer.

We protest against whom? For what? I've heard that the government is the tool of Rothsderbergers and the Zionist International Popes. If we get nowhere by protesting the government, do we go to the local Masonic temple demanding our freedom?

I'm trying to be at least slightly humorous, but I honestly don't have answers. Help?

I think that's me I'm not sharpest bulb probably why i ask so many questions all the time..I'm talking about our government an the so called elite ..gas prices, groceries, unemployment and the hundred other issues we have

I 've been involved with the gulf coast since July...here's one place where one might expect to see upheaval & actually everyone should be protesting against BP plus gov agencies...this epidemic effects us all...however if you don't live in the gulf region to witness all the illnesses of the people, lost jobs, the TOXICITY of the sand, water, & air , animals & plants dying and the TOXIC food...then you are probably blinded by your shades or don't care as you think it doesn't effect you. The truth is slowly emerging & the MSM is starting to finally report. It's sad how we've become desensitized & I think that is one of the major reasons no one seems to care.

So to be honest I thought it was great that Egypt started, then Lybia, & hopefully more...
thought about the US...but until it's something that effects ALL people, I don't see anything happening.

I'll be in the same boat...live in small area & have to drive a distance to make any money.

Ocean water pollution from the BP oil spill is one of the largest vital environmental issues this planet is facing at present its one of the “worst environmental disasters in U.S. history”and we still dont know the full impact on the environment..
And yes i agree everyone should be protesting against BP plus gov agencies on that tragedy..and we have become desensitized if its not happening to you why worry its there problem its plain and simple in my eyes we dont care unless its smacking us in the face and even then we sit and take it no one wants to get involved..And you know what i dont see anything happening either "WE THE PEOPLE", "UNITED WE STAND", "DIVIDED WE FALL"
America, we the the people shall stand united. Im not sure about that ..and what John F. Kennedy he said Efforts and courage are not enough without purpose and direction. "
I have to wonder what direction were going in?

gets off my soap box..

Stockholm syndrome. Most Americans are absolutely and wholly convinced that they, too, will be mega-billionaires. As soon as they win the lottery. Or get that promotion. Or get signed to a sports team. Or get a record deal. Any minute now. And since these Americans are all on the verge of having more money than they could ever spend, they certainly don't want to do anything that would impact their massive wealth! So they bow over backwards to make sure the wealthiest men and women are as comfortable and secure as possible, because, you know, the rest of us are going to be there by this time tomorrow!

That's true everything has gone digital but wouldn't it make more impact if we took it to the streets?

The problem with that is that people will be quick to protest the recent Financial Reform and Healthcare reform bills, Obama and won't dare protest the Federal Reserve as we should be doing.

The GOP will label any protesters protesting The Federal Reserve as Anti American Terrorists.

I agree Ive thought about that no one wants to be labeled a Anti American Terrorist..And I'm sure that's what would probably happen

Look at the price of gas, food and consumer goods in other comparable developed countries with similiar economies. Many of you on ATS complain about socialism and government needs to stay out of your lives...yet here is capitalism "righting" itself with the price of gas and food going up. How do you know that this high price has always been the true price and through subsidies and governement money it had been brought to the consumer at a lower price.

I agree that people should be protesting Wall Street and the big oil companies, but if you don't actually understand what or why you are protesting, there is no point.

In Canada, we pay more for gas, food and consumer goods. That is the reason why "economy" cars have been more popular despite having a better per capita income than the states. Why the heck would I need a gas guzzling escalade to transport 2 kids around??? I think its probably a good thing that the "real" costs of things are finally being realized by the American consumer and hopefully you will be able to adapt your lifestyle to it. The rest of the developed world have years ago...

The sad reality is that a clearcut majority of GOP driven protests are rooted in racism and hate. The mantra is to make Obama a "1 Term President" and that is all that matters to these Anti American racist pos!

Yeah, cause all Republicans dislike Obama because he is black

Yes I agree. I have boycotted buying BP fuel for a while now here in New Zealand. Try to advise others to do the same. But not many really care. Real sad.

Then what is it exactly that you yourself see without using nor citing one of the GOP's daily talking points? What is YOUR opinion?
