Idiot with an opinion, a keyboard, and no evidence to prove said opinion. Case closed, next?
Sorry I usually don't resort to such things, but the people here crying hoax with no evidence are beginning to piss me off...

1) His cat wasnt really staring at anything.. just bobbing around in that direction. This is the point of his whole video. He said
i was testing my new cameras night vision on my cat and wondered what he was looking at towards his left,
2) @58 secs He zoomed out and in while he backs up. This means he had to push the zoom button in and out while stepping back. If he was so scared and really really thought he was seeing an alien, he would not have the right mind to zoom out (for no other reason then to add drama) and then zoom in.
3) @1:27 he rushes out to see "get it"... you cant see it at all, he just runs around with the camera pointing down. If it was dark and the camera really did have "night vision" then he is running into the pitch black after a possibly aggressive intelligent species from another world in PITCH BLACK. Sound like something you would do?

It should be noted that Alex (the camera operator) is a member of ATS, and name calling from either side is against the T&Cs here.
As for the footage... I just did another frame-by-frame viewing, and the only thing I see is evidence of something/someone physically being in the yard. The motion blur is quite apparent, and for someone to have superimposed the "being" post-production style, while perfectly syncing with all of the camera's erratic movements, seems highly unlikely.
Maybe it's the American blood running through my veins, but if this has been a recurring issue for Alex and his mother, it seems like a problem that a Mossberg 500 might finish. The notion of living in a rural area without some form of personal protection just seems unnatural to me; however, I acknowledge that's certainly a culturally affected belief to have. Such would lead to a few possible outcomes...
1) A neighbor/prankster being spooked enough to discontinue the "pranks" on said property.
2) A dead neighbor/prankster
3) An injured/dead 16 year old if the offender used something to get off the first "shot".
4) Proof of alien life in the form of a "body", or "bodily fluids" (DNA) left at the scene.
These options are literally life-and-death serious, and should not be taken lightly; however, if something truly is repeatedly terrorizing this family, then it could be seen as a possible "last resort". As probabilities have me currently leaning towards the prankster neighbor/friend theory... I certainly wouldn't go on a mad shooting spree spraying the yard; however, the sound of a shotgun being pumped, or an off-target warning shot could go a looooong way towards convincing this person to discontinue their harassment.

Suspending disbelief for a moment, are you suggesting that a "being" who hypothetically traveled light-years to reach earth wouldn't be advanced enough to possess focused-light technology?edit on 3/6/11 by redmage because: (no reason given)

Sorry, I edited my prior post to make my point more clear. Personally, the footage is too rough for me to specifically identify "who/what" is even in the bushes. How are you able to identify exactly what the object is that's emitting the beam? In what frame is the "pointer" itself clearly identifiable?

Well I went through the video, frame by frame, could not find a single clear image at all. I guess this is inconclusive, no clear image to prove hoax, or prove real. Wish I could get my hands on the original. This is just of the original video, I don't have time to go through the others right now. I would be interested more in what the poster of the video has to say though.
