A BRITISH space boffin has managed to snap a spacewalking astronaut from his back garden — with a webcam and homemade telescope.


Martin Lewis' amazing photo shows the shuttle Discovery docked to the International Space Station.

Ok its not that clear a photo,cant really see much but still pretty amazing,must be a first for an amateur photographer!

I thought this was a pretty funny comment left by a user on the page:

Can you imagine if a spaceman took a picture of a man in his garden there would be an uproar.

I applaud the man's effort, not a bad shot for what has to be a long exposure with a mechanism it appears he made to follow the swift path through the sky the station has. Equally amazing efforts I'm sure we all have seen is the shuttle docking to the ISS crossing the sun.

Its very cool and all that from the ground this guy can get that resolution of an image of the space-station.
However, positively identifying that blotch on the photo as a "space man", is a wee-bit of stretch.

IMH(f)O anyway.
