Christchurch hit by huge dust storm- quake fatalities rise to 160

March 3, 2011 - CHRISTCHURCH - Strong winds whipped up huge dust clouds in earthquake-hit Christchurch Wednesday, as officials defended the devastated city’s building standards. Gusts of 70 kilometres per hour (44 mph) buffeted emergency crews in the ruins of New Zealand’s second largest city, hampering the search for bodies amid fears of masonry dislodging and trees toppling. “In some places it was difficult to stand up, you’d look across the city and see these enormous clouds of dust blowing down the main avenues — it’s been a terrible day,” mayor Bob Parker said

Wow. The poor people of NZ can't catch a break.
I haven't seen this up on the board yet.
That whole area has been through hell this past year.

I have also heard something about a huge lwave in Wellington NZ on RSOE, but can't confirm it

EDIT TO ADD:www.stuff.co.nz... Thankfully, it was just a big wave and not a tidal wave.

Lucky the winds didnt cause much more damage in NZ.(Im from Oz, and have alot of Kiwi(maori) mates.)
They have had enough bad luck over there for now. (160 dead 82 still missing)
But those kiwis will fight on. They will battle on.
They aren't out of the danger yet but they will help each other through this, just like us aussies did for the floods and the fires.
Us Aussies and Kiwis are the same, we help each other out and will fight for each other when we need to.
Those Kiwis might be getting kicked now but that just makes them stronger.
We will be ok here Down Under. (OZ. NZ)
Thanks for your thoughts about us down here.
