WOW.....really? Now what is the name of this thing exactly? Is it a comet? Is it a Brown Dwarf? Is is a Planet? Is it's name Elenin, Tyche, Nibiru or what? I'm confused?

This was said December 21st 2010 still that was last year is there anything new on this statement? I haven't been fallowing it that closely however if we were going to be hit, The high standing government officials and elite won't be that safe in their little bunkers. Hopefully an earthquake will bust their whole operation before it begins. If not hopefully Elenin will get'em so what if we all die, life goes on.

There was a Thread yesterday that touched on this...it linked to a video on nasa's buzznasa site...and yes close to the end of the video...they confirm that they can't guarantee Elenin won't hit Earth because of the chance of orbital changes on it's way here (i.e. if it bumps into a meteor or something) ...but the chances are very slim it'll hit.

regarding the first part of the OP's opening....Elenin is apparently a comet...rock and ice

Tyche - is the possibility of a huge planet just outside our solar system, could be a gas giant, could be a
brown dwarf, It's too far away to be 'Nibiru' if it's gonna be here by 2012

Nibiru - Is a Sumerian legend....it's supposed to be a planet on a long orbit around the sun, with aliens called

OR it could be a brown dwarf...

I jsut posted on that nasabuzzwebsite. I read here on ATS other day, elinin's orbit was recalculated, to 0.22 AU. thats like 194,000 miles away form us! well inside the moons orbit of 250,000 miles, the average. Any truth too that?

And it didn't return any results.....

AU is the average distance between the Earth and the Sun.
LD is the average distance between the Earth and the Moon.

1 AU = 92,955,807.27 miles

0.22 AU = 20,450,277.60 miles

1 LD = 238,857 miles

0.22 AU = ~86 LD

The comet Elenin, at its closest, is expected to be 86 times as far away from Earth as the Moon is.
