Israel shouldn't worry until the new Egyptian government is established.



A senior Israeli official is suggesting the Muslim Brotherhood should be banned from standing in Egyptian elections because it is an extremist organization. Deputy Foreign Minister Danny Ayalon said on Monday Israel would object to the Brotherhood being part of a future government “on the merit of their agenda ... and their policies. ...”

No surprise really. Israel only like democracy when it's working in their favour. When you start dictating who can and who cannot run for political office, well, it's not really democracy is it.

The MB may be an extremist organization, but Israel had the terrorist Ariel Sharon as its leader. It does not have a leg to stand on in this argument. Add to that the fact that a democracy is not a democracy when parties are banned.

I guess Israel forgot that at one time Zionist were considered a extremist organization too. Maybe they should take their own advice and get out of politics.
