Now, on the other side of that coin, if it isn't true, what's the purpose other than relaxing restrictions on use of oil? i mean we're told we're close to the end and need to conserve, but these people say there is no end, endless oil, so burn burn burn.

There are many teams of Petroleum Workers, whose job it is to fly around the World, to all the Capped oil wells not in use, and do a vent and BURN of all the Natural Gas that has filled the Wells!!.
Yes they just BURN it off, sometimes it takes weeks of 24 hour burning. Then they move on to the next one and do the same.
Apparently it is Too expensive for the Petroleum companys to collect this cheap, clean burning fuel, so they just......burn it off.

A Company in Silicon Valley has an organism that "eats" carbon and produces neat refined fuel that can run a car.

The Biologist Craig Venter has discovered organisms that produce hydrocarbons 5 miles deep in the Earths Crust.

Oil, is probably the Earth's lubrication, just like we have cartilage, saliva, gooy things in us....

Anyway, the problem is not burning fuel, it is TOO MANY HUMANS on our Planet!!!!!!.

Well with algae oil gaining steam I'd say it is possible there was plant life back
then like algae that could have made the oil.



This also shows we do not need to be in the middle east for the oil, we
just like the big profits from war and funding 700+ bases in 130+ countries
and the military industrial complex will JFK or MLK anyone that looks
to stop their revenue stream.

That planet is so rich with abiotic hydrocarbons it's crazy. It friggen rains them from its atmosphere.

This is actually the answer. It doesn't matter if the oil is abiotic or not, if you look at the production numbers most of the oil producing nations are past "peak oil". Whatever/wherever the oil is coming from it can't keep up with the demand from the civilization.

Oil discoveries peaked in the 60's and since the 80's we have consumed more than we have discovered. And it's the easy stuff we have extracted, oil gets harder and harder to extract...

Name one. Like the other poster said, there are places, like Texas, where there are thousands and thousands of abandoned oil wells, if they were refilling then they wouldn't all be abandoned would they?

I totally agree with the above. If they can get oil out of it they are going to be doing so. We aren't dealing with oil shale and tar sands because it's easy. Nor are we drilling in waters that are on the fringe of what we are capable because it is easy. We are doing these things because there is a desperation IMHO for oil and what will happen when gas becomes $5 a gallon and stays there.
