Yes it is a free speech issue.

Like it or not Fox News is a member of the press as much as CNN or Media Matters or MSNBC

Text of the First Amendment:

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances."

No one is saying they should be prevented from saying/showing whatever they want within legal limits. But they shouldn't be allowed to blatantly mislead the viewers while pretending to show factual news...which is EXACTLY what they are doing.

Do you watch FOX News?

I do. I also watch MSNBC and CNN and CNBC and I subscribe to Fox Business Network.

I find very little of any of their information to be inaccurate or what I would consider an outright lie.
the only place I find information that may be inaccurate is when OPINION is being expressed. That is true
for all channels and outlets.

I don't want NON BIASED media. I want media that is principled and stands up for it's own mission statement and what they believe is right or wrong REGARDLESS of what that opinion is.

Yeah, yeah. I know I'm evil and brainwashed and all that other Jazz 'cause I don't parrot media matters and don't think Fox is evil.

I got ya.

Next!

Now your acting like a four year old -

FOX egged on the largest expansion on government in the history of the UNITED STATES, they pitched it and sold it. It is not a matter of being evil, it is a matter of being foolish...

Fox evil? No way. Entertainment is just entertainment. Gotta love Glenn Beck's great little daily lectures on how the nazi commies are coming. It's a hoot. Fox and Friends is marvy over coffee and toast while O'Reilly getting angry about unions lately is just the best (if you take into account they all belong to their own unions).

No wonder their ratings are so high. They beat Comedy Central by a Death Valley mile. Best entertainment on American TV.

In short you don't care about facts and want someone to feed you propaganda?

They even lie when it comes about net neutrality, something we should all be concerned about!

I'm well aware of what Fox was saying and doing during the Bush administration. And NOT ALL OF THEIR EMPLOYEES were egging it on.

Secondly it's not as if the rest of the media was standing firmly against on the creation of DHS or the passage of the PATRIOT Act.

My problem is that folks that share your opinion of Fox seem to think that Fox is the source of all of the Nation's problems, and that it is the only thing wrong with media.

When you have 5 or 6 different channels that parrot different levels of liberalism and in the case of MSNBC outright socialism, attacking the only channel that gives a greater voice to the different flavors of conservatism seems a bit unfair to me.

Hehehe ...i want a debate but not with you .. you are blinded by FOX false right wing ideology and false patriotism which brings death and suffering not only on the US but all over the world . Gov had fooled you with propaganda and your hands are full of blood by paying taxes and finance the troops who are raping , killing the innocent people all over the world.

p.s. ..if you asking me all MSM should be investigated and prosecuted in a court of law

I don't share that view.

I don't think my soldiers are murderers and I could care less what some politician or lawyer says.

I agree. Very likely the person making the recording will fall under a pile of it~and, probably get sued by fox for huge damages. One doesn't just run around making recordings of the masters. This is their right, exclusively. I thought this was clear?

Lest there be any doubt. FOX NEWS LIES.

Fox News gets okay to misinform public, court ruling

The attorneys for Fox, owned by media baron Rupert Murdoch, successfully argued the First Amendment gives broadcasters the right to lie or deliberately distort news reports on the public airwaves.

The court did not dispute the heart of Akre's claim, that Fox pressured her to broadcast a false story to protect the broadcaster from having to defend the truth in court, as well as suffer the ire of irate advertisers.

It's beyond me how anyone could defend Fox. Essentially, it's like saying "I know you're lying to me, presenting me with incorrect information...but I like what you're saying, so it's all good".

You are agreeing and ok with being dumbed down!!

Regardless whether this story was plant, true or not. FOX NEWS LIES! Period. They are part and parcel of the extreme right smear machine and supress divergent opinion.

I'm not sure where to even begin with that statement.

So, regardless of whether the story to smear Fox news to suppress (their) divergent opinion was true or not,
Fox News is the liar?

The story in OP is but one of a slew of allegations. It matters not if it is true as there are numerous others which have already been proven so. But nice try.
Read my last post. THEY SUPPRESS TRUTH. Admitted and proven.
