After finding a bit of mary jane in a house, the cops started discussing what they want to take from the house. Little did they know that the band that was practicing at the time, left the mics recording.

Maybe a lesson that could be learned from this is...
Don't break the laws of this country, then you don't
have to worry about this type of action from the police.

I guess thats one way of looking at it, or another way would be to work on changing the laws?

So what your saying is that its ok for the people that we the public have hired to protect us, To do the same as the criminals we pay them to remove? I'm not excusing what the guy did, but i have alot less fear of some stoner band member than a crooked police force backed up by crooked politicians. This is the same mentality that has lost so many of our rights already.

Doesn't surprise me to be honest. The police here in Blighty are corrupt and unfit for purpose. If there's no money to be made from their actions they simple do nothing. If your house is burgled or your home attacked and vandolised then you dont call the police anymore as its just a waste of time. The police are all sitting in the backs of vans with their little radar guns hounding innocent motorists for minor offences, or speeding around council estates as if they are Starsky & Hutch...

Mary Jane is not a legal plant in the U.S.A.
If you have it,smoke it or grow it,you will be arrested.
If you don't want that kind of attention from the authorities,
abide by the laws.
The officers had a search warrant for that controlled plant.
What the officers did that was wrong was picking through
the guys stuff to keep for themselves.I am sure the officers
will be punished.
Bottom line...if this guy hadn't broken the law,the officers
wouldn't have been there with a search warrant in the first place!

What if some unscrupulous police plant evidence on your property in order to make you appear guilty of a crime so they can seize your property? Dont say it hasnt happened before.

Bottom line: unless he was a big dealer and used drug profits to buy his property (versus growing primarily for his own consumption) the only thing that they should be able to seize are plants, grow lights, and related drug paraphenalia. The house is not a legal person and can not be guilty of a crime. And in this case it seems more of police stealing from drug users than it is civil property forfeiture per se. Being a police officer is not a license to steal.
