Capture your own UFO video: Infra-Red photography

Many people report seeing UFOs on night vision equipment, or report seeing a UFO in a view-finder of a digital camera even when they don't see one with the naked eye.

This is because the standard CCD in photo devices is sensitive to Infra-Red light frequencies that the human eye cannot see. Cameras have IR blocking glass to filter out the IR. You can simply remove that blocking glass.

You can capture visible or invisible events then using modified equipment.

Bell & Howell sells a camera that has the IR blocking lens removed.
You can also purchase modified cameras on the Internet
(Look up IR conversion cameras).

I use a cheap ($70) Bell & Howell. I also have a Night Vision monocular with a
cable to a portable Digital Video recorder. Trouble is, I only get to look at the sky
about 3-5 minutes per night. I've seen some interesting things, but nothing worth
making a video yet.

Quite a few of us here on ATS are already using NIR modified cameras and other cool tech for these purposes. I believe systems like this can also be valuable for spotting new types of military craft as well.

One of the most common problems when discussing IR equipment on ATS is the confusion between near infrared sensitive devices and thermal infrared sensitive devices. I would like to clarify here that the OP is referring to devices (CCD, CMOS, digital night vision, and Image intensifiers) which are specifically sensitive to the entire visible part of the light spectrum and part of the near infrared spectrum. This means that the images produced by these systems are not heat based. They are instead a product of the visible colors of the spectrum (what our eyes can detect) and the wavelengths (colors) of light that are slightly longer than our eyes can sense (specifically they are slightly longer than those wavelengths that produce the color red).

UncleVinny, Could you provide us with some sample footage from your system and perhaps some photos of the equipment?

Also, what DVR do you use? Do you like it?

Just getting started myself, so I'm not an expert.
First system is a Bushnell Stealview II monocular that is attached to
portable PSD Security portable DVR.

The other is simple Bell & Howell S7 camera.
Made a rather skeptical video on that - - - www.youtube.com...

I also have a Meade telescope with a video eyepiece.
I have just started and I have not seen ANYTHING paranormal so far.

I honest think with so many people having cell phones, cameras,
and now this revived interest in NIR that we should be soon reaping a harvest
of good UFO footage.


BTW - Thanks for all the posts. I can see a vast pool of intelligence here
which is a real resource for serious investigators.
