Have you ever heard of mob robberies? What happens is that dozens of young people storm a store at the same time, take whatever they want, and then storm out as powerless store clerks watch helplessly. Most of the time these "mob robbers" end up getting caught, but unfortunately "group crime" is a trend that is rising. Is it a sign of the times that large groups of people are starting to recklessly invade retail establishments? Is this the future of America?

As I have written about so frequently, the U.S. middle class is being destroyed by this economy and large numbers of our young people are losing hope. Frustration and anger are rising from coast to coast and millions of Americans are losing faith in the system. The thin veneer of civilization which we all take for granted is already starting to disappear. So what is going to happen when the economy collapses? As our economic system fails, mob robberies and rampant looting are only going to become more common. Let us hope that the economy can hold together for at least a couple more years, because once society falls apart things are going to get really, really ugly in our major cities.

Here in Detroit the latest craze is pulling up to the valet at the club, or casino with 6 of your buddies in a stolen mini-van, then one person puts a gun to the valet while 4 of your friends get the keys to the nicest cars in the lot, and away you go. By the time the police get there, and take the report, and get onstar activated the cars are already stripped. Thieves are always at the front of innovation!

Mob robberies and rampant looting are the inevitable consequences of a collapsing economy, incrementally destroyed by design, in order to tear down the United States economically.

Inevitably, the trend will relentlessly continue on a downward spiral.

The golden age of the U.S. economy of the 1950s and 60s is long gone, and chances of a new economic heyday or renaissance are virtually nil; the globalist elite control the economies of their subject nations, period, through controlling boom and bust cycles, credit issuing, liquid asset purchases and sales, etc.

Someday, you might have to turn to looting, just to make it another day, or another week, or another month, let alone another year.

The elite are planning to wipe the USA off the map and this is just part of it.

Think about it. How many generations have the elite fed the "socialist" crud that "Property is THEFT" using the public school systems? (see The father of Modern Progressive Education, John Dewey: Click 1 and Click 2)

Economic Collapse

The start of the real collapse will be in 2012:

50% of the US labor force work for small business. Obamacare makes a change in the tax law governing 1099's that is going to be a NIGHTMARE for ALL businesses and force many small businesses to close their doors. Worse it will greatly impede the start of new small businesses.

NO FARMS NO FOOD!
The second fiasco is the food safety law to be implemented in 2012. It requires farmers to determine possible contamination points and to write preventative control plans including documentation of EVERY activity, necessary testing and security measures.

These are the farm facts no one ever bothered to tell the public.

Agriculture contributes more than $950 billion — 16 percent — to the GNP each year.

There are 2.2 million farms in the USA. According to the 2007 census over half the farms, 1,167,751, reported losses, with an average loss $15,596.

Only 396,054 farms have gains of over $25,000 a year, that means 1.8 million are near or BELOW the poverty threshold.

1,070,668 farms have less than 25% of their income from farming.

Only 4,048 are full time farmers deriving 100% of the income from farming.

The average age is 55.4 years with many farmers beyond or approaching retirement age

According to the USDA, almost 90 percent of the total income of rancher or farmer households now comes from outside earnings. More than 60 percent of US farms are resource, residential or retirement farms. There is a widening gap between retail price and farm value. a USDA market basket of food has increased 2.8 percent while the farm value of that food has fallen by 35.7 percent!

Now tell me how the heck are American farmers, already working two jobs so YOU can get cheap food, going to afford the time or money to deal with the massive red tape the Food Modernization act is going to require??

Given the Food Cartel's Monopsony, farmers can not pass on the cost but the Food corporations sure will ... and pocket the difference.

As one farmer said in disgust: LET THEM EAT GRASS!

The critical moves leading to the coming Great Depression:

Reagan - facilitate Leveraged buyouts/Hostile takeovers

....Both economic and regulatory factors combined to spur the explosion in large takeovers and, in turn, large LBOs. The three regulatory factors were

the Reagan administration's relatively laissez-faire policies on antitrust and securities laws, which allowed mergers the government would have challenged in earlier years;

the 1982 Supreme Court decision striking down state antitakeover laws...; and deregulation of many industries, which prompted restructurings and mergers.

The main economic factor was the development of the original-issue high-yield debt instrument. The so-called "junk bond" innovation, pioneered by Michael Milken of Drexel Burnham, provided many hostile bidders and LBO firms with the enormous amounts of capital needed to finance multi-billion-dollar deals.... www.econlib.org...

Clinton - World Trade Organization, NAFTA, and China's entry into the WTO, the trade pact that cost America 20 percent of its manufacturing jobs in just 14 years. Now Obama just placed the men responsible back in control of the US economy

Clinton also had a big hand in the consolidation of Mega Banks, AIG Bailout and Foreclosuregate: Quick list of Banking laws that made it possible.

#3 Bush - Wars, Patriot Act, John Warner Defense Authorization Act of 2007. U.S. Northern Command, Canada Command established new bilateral Civil Assistance Plan allowing Canadian troops to be used to "respond quickly to the other nation's requests for military support of civil authorities.” The John Warner Defense Authorization Act of 2007 repealed Posse Comitatus the law forbidding the use of military troops on American citizens.

#5 Obama - Bankrupt the American people and push them towards revolt.

Obama-Dodd financial bill would further enrich Goldman Sachs The "bill would reward the firm with potentially billions of dollars by instituting a so-called “resolution authority” that would, in practice, be a permanent bailout fund."

Obama loan modification program actually forces foreclosures:

thousands of homeowners complain that a few months after making reduced monthly mortgage payments their banks avoid permanent loan modifications. By now, it's no secret that home loan servicers are making money on foreclosures rather than approving home loan modifications. www.suite101.com...

“Simply put,” says Parker, “the government bailout of AIG has actually encouraged foreclosures because the taxpayers continue to fill AIG’s coffers with enough cash to pay out insurance on defaulted home loans.”

...CDS premium revenue is not restricted to those who might have actual losses or real assets to protect. You can bet as much as you want and create as many CDS as you want....

It may be a disturbing trend, but it's inevitable. One person can get caught. But 10 or 20? And then what happens if you have 4 or 5 groups that size coordinating their efforts to "hit" 4 or 5 different stores at the same time in different parts of town? There wont be enough police to go around.

Even if they did track down a few of the looters to their homes, what will the police do when they see the looters' wife and children eating what the man of the house stole? Arrest him for providing for his family? The police have a job to do, but they're human beings just like us. Whatever town it happens in, chances are the police department is facing budget cuts to where part of the staff has to be let go because the city just doesn't have the funds to pay them.

For the officer in question here that might very well be the case for him and when he sees the looters family eating what the looter stole, he knows that he could very well be looking at his own near future.

As long as nobody gets hurt, this "trend" is going to continue because people have to eat. Personally, I can't blame them. If I were in their position I would do the same thing.

A good assessment of the things to come. But this last sentence is rather short-sighted. Since the discussion was about store and maybe even warehouse looting, those activities will be coming up empty handed within a week or two. The "you" mentioned above will then turn to other means, robbing, looting and killing of individual households if for nothing but a can of beans. If the "haves" are better prepared for your coming, your fight for survival is quickly over.

These days, better to be an ant than a grasshopper. The cold of winter is hell on grasshoppers

By that time, it will be too late. You'll be one of millions trying to do this same thing, in every large city in the U.S.

Me? I'm moving to the country in the next 30 days, before it's too late.

This is one time to be a little ahead of the game.

The one I keep waiting to see is an informal network of "neighborhood tolls." For example, as you drive from any one neighborhood to another, a runner on a bike sidles up to your car and taps on the window. You hand him a little money and he disappears, and you get safe passage through that neighborhood until you hit the next of the always-shifting boundries. This is classic stuff, you can see it all over the world, Lagos has a particularly well-developed network with several layers, very efficient. I'm surprised this hasn't taken hold in the US yet but I'm guessing it will.

The other thing I expect to see as time goes by is a lot more "patronage." Young people will have to hook up with somebody older who can act as a kind of guarantor to set them up with jobs, apartments, etc. as jobs of any sort become scare. You will have a lot more stuff being done on a "favor" basis, a lot more "my word is my bond" type transactions. In a way this is not an entirely negative development but it has its drawbacks, too.

While I understand that poverty is on the rise in the US, something tells me many of the people doing this are spoiled teenagers and people in their early 20s who are upset because they can't afford an ipod.

There are food banks in most places that give you free food if your income is low enough. A lot of churches will also help out starving families. I'm not religious, and don't attend church, but a guy I used to work with that was laid off, also with no religious ties, told me a local church gave his family a weeks worth of food for free. There are, luckily, still some great folks out there.

At THIS point I can't see looting being justified. Especially looting of independent stores. You're quite literally taking food out of someone else's mouth to stick it in your own. At least do it to a Wal-Mart or something.

BUT, in the future, if things continue on the path they are on, I could totally see looting as one of the only ways to provide for you or your family.

This is an interesting post! Not a good state of affairs.
