Egyptian Armed Forces Fire At Christian Monasteries, 19 Injured

www.aina.org

For the second time in as many days, Egyptian armed force stormed the 5th century old St. Bishoy monastery in Wadi el-Natroun, 110 kilometers from Cairo. Live ammunition was fired, wounding two monks and six Coptic monastery workers. Several sources confirmed the army's use of RPG ammunition. Four people have been arrested including three monks and a Coptic lawyer who was at the monastery investigating yesterday's army attack.

I wonder if all this feel good about the Egyptian uprising will be turned into horror if extremist Islamic gains a foothold in that society.

It seemed that during the uprising that Christians and Muslims were able to get along (as each protected one another as they prayed in the square) but now it seems the same old hatred is having its way.

It is a crying shame that those feelings do not appear to have survived the remove of that tyrant.

Or it could be a divide and conquer tactic. The New Years bombing of a Christian church has lots of ???? to it. Some are pointing to a government offical being involved.

"The army was shocked to see the monks standing there praying 'Lord have mercy' without running away. This is what really upset them," he said. "As the soldiers were demolishing the gate and the fence they were chanting 'Allahu Akbar' and 'Victory, Victory'."

I continue to get the immpresion that people in the ME ain't happy if they're not constantly fueding with someone.

I think we are all aware that at any time the whole ME could become a killing ground of both religions.
Its up to the much more populous islamics to find the compassion to live alongside of the other religions.Which have existed there from the beginning.
If they cannot or will not be willing then the bloodbath is asssured to come about, It is just a matter of time....
The world is awaiting their decision now......Should it be genocidal, there are plenty of killers to man both sides and plenty of victims for both.

This is not necessarily new. The Coptic Church and Christians have been attacked by Egyptians for a very, very long time. I guess it makes the whole thing more interesting that the so-called peacekeeping Egyptian armed force is involved.

When the lid of a box is lifted off everything starts to show itself, all facets of human nature are revealed. There are those who love and respect and are looking for some kind of peace to live in. Or on the other side, there are those who are keen on hatred and content on infecting others. Its a good way of proving oneself right, provoke others to be like themselves and then stand back like king of the castle and comment. So it is at this time that we should be even more careful as the lies are almost bigger than the skies. I would also go so far as to say, that there are plenty angry people, simply because the lid is being lifted off. In what lies ahead, it will be worse because the lid will be lifted off those who think they have full ownership of the lid. ha ha ha you chose your paths now you will have to walk them.

your the quite Ignorant by claiming that Christians are killing those little Muslims, but i guess when the Muslims start killing Christians Like the serbs in bosnia and elsewhere, there is no outcry.

I wonder why is that? is it because they have different beliefs and a little more respect towards women.

Funny you should say that. This is a 3500 year old prophecy concerning Ishmael the father of all Arabs, from the Bible,

The angel of the LORD also said to her:

“You are now pregnant
and you will give birth to a son.
You shall name him Ishmael,[a]
for the LORD has heard of your misery.
12 He will be a wild donkey of a man;
his hand will be against everyone
and everyone’s hand against him,
and he will live in hostility
toward all his brothers.”

Yet another Biblical prophecy fulfilled with great precision.

Who invaded who again? And who funds dictators to oppress muslims? The west? Say it isn't so.

We are all brothers, muslims and christians, and jews and whoever religion they are from, if they are in a religion to begin with. We are brothers against those who want to kill us for different beliefs, those who want to kill us for us wanting to be free.

That's what the Egyptian revolution taught us anyway.
