Kansas reps pass bill to make it illegal for union dues to go to politicians

Well this should be a pretty simple concept. Why should they be using union dues to give to politicians anyway it should be used for the members of the union.

House Bill 2130 would make it illegal for labor unions to use union dues to support politicians. The bill will go to the Senate for debate and a vote. I agree..Why should union money go to politics?
They don't ask every member who they support and donate accordinly..

This should be passed on a federal level. Will never happen though just look at who gave democrats all their money last election cycle. That is the problem with unions. Once in the members have no say what is done with their dues.

This is a good start. Now if we can put a cap on campain spending and term limits on them we might get some where. Union members can contribute individually, there dues need to go to them.

This is terrible! This is limiting people's right to contribute how they wish. The SCOTUS ruled that corporations can contribute as much money as they want....Do you think any of those corporations have the middle class as an interest? The union, which represents the working class, and you people are saying that the working class can no longer put their money together and contribute how they see fit, but corporations can?

On the bigger picture, a dollar should not be louder than a voice, it is IMO that is what this republic has come too, though...since we are at that point, limiting the working classes voice (which they get to choose to contribute, or not) is faster road to collapse.

Fine. Contribute to the candidate of your choice out of your own pocket, instead of letting the 'corporation' union do it for you. And make no mistake, the unions today are just as much of a corporation as any other. It's a business.

Anybody union or non union who disagrees with this is not for unions but for freeloading on taxpayers.
