My daughter just gave me a nice one. More of a proverb really, a good one though...
Yesterdays history, Tommorrows a mistery, Today is a gift, thats why they call it the present.
Also, Chinese proverbs like:
-To know the road ahead, ask those coming back.
-It is insanity to do the same thing over and over and expect a different result (or something like that)
Rub butter on a burn (poor advice!)
If you spill salt, you have to throw some over your left shoulder, or ba-a-a-ad luck will befall you.
And some wisdom....
“The trick is in what one emphasizes. We either make ourselves miserable, or we make ourselves happy. The amount of work is the same.”
-Carlos Castaneda
"Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them so much."
-Oscar Wilde
Confucius say..."Before you embark on a journey of revenge, dig two graves."
Can't think of anymore that aren't totally obvious (black cats, ladders etc) but I'll be back with more.
