'Anti-government extremist' groups on rise in US: study

www.rawstory.com

CHICAGO – Membership in anti-government extremist groups continues to explode in the United States amid frustration over the lagging economy and the "mainstreaming of conspiracy theories," a study released Wednesday found.

After nearly tripling in 2009 in the wake of the election of the nation's first black president, anti-government 'patriot' groups and militias grew another 61 percent in 2010 to 824, the report by the Southern Poverty Law Center found.

UH-OH...

Take a close look at that wording people:

"Anti-government extremists" tied in with the "mainstreaming of CONSPIRACY THEORIES".

Now, who exactly, do you think they are trying to insinuate here are "extremists"? Rhetorical question.

While I don't doubt there surely ARE extremists, as we have seen some pretty crazy things happen in recent times, it looks to me like there may be some more painting with a VERY broad brush here, in order to stifle an ever-increasing dissentful populace who are being endlessly rail-roaded by tptb.

it makes me laugh at the stupidity of western governments.
For the past two months (for now) USA, UK predominantly have been cheering on anti-government protesters in middle east yet when its own people do same like in uk they are labelled anarchists, terrorists and threatened to be prosecuted ...

I am EXTREMELY convinced phrases like "extremist and terrorist" are nothing more than everyday words spoon fed to us by TPTB to take on an evil connotation (moreover to justify wars and keep the rich buzzin). I am extremely passionate about this theory.

I know many people who think like me. So I guess I am part of an extremist group as well.

This "news" story can go jump in a lake where it belongs

Exactly, can we all remeber the last buzz word to make us scared and keep us angry enough to send our children and ourselves off to die for? It was "communism". Pinko!
Probably less than 10% of US could accurately explain communism (or the fact that no "ism" could possibly explain an entire country's ideals). Yet the devil himself created the word. People are trying the same stunt today with the word "socialism" only with less of a hard sell as back during the cold war.
The new ultra supreme scare word is TERRORISM!! EEEKKKK
Now, couple the word terrorism with the prefix "extreme" and we might as well just start flinging nukes at every country besides our own!

I had a "Eureka" moment the other night as I watched "The Crucible".

If the Church and State are one in the same, then the enemy of the state is anyone who does not conform to the religion [ex: Christianity]. So Satanists and Witches are hunted down and murdered.

However, in today's society, with the separation of Church and State the religion we must all practice is "Freedom" and those who are against what is deemed as "Freedom" are "Terrorists".

They are in fact, of the same creation [opposition of another's Will], but with different designations.

Of course this is just a rough analysis and not to be taken to heart.

"Groups".

Pretty vague, chillingly so.

There are anti-government sleeper-cell groups among us folks. They are so secret, that people don't even know if they are in a group, and meet up with one another on a subconscious level, plotting destruction.. and they are on the rise everywhere.

Build more prisons is all I can say, and soon. Or we'll be overrun by terrible anti-government groups.

Boogity boo.

If you don't know if you're in a group or if you identify with one, then I would suggest you kindly allow yourself to be arrested, so the government can inform you to which group you belong and what you should do about it to better serve the government.

Everyone will meet at the local soccer stadium, where hot lead will be served. Thank you for listening to this announcement.

THERE YOU GO :
USA = POLICE STATE!
Corect me if I am wrong!
POLICE STATE:

" The term police state describes a state in which the government exercises rigid and repressive controls over the social, economic and political life of the population. A police state typically exhibits elements of totalitarianism and social control, and there is usually little or no distinction between the law and the exercise of political power by the executive.

The inhabitants of a police state experience restrictions on their mobility, and on their freedom to express or communicate political or other views, which are subject to police monitoring or enforcement. Political control may be exerted by means of a secret police force which operates outside the boundaries normally imposed by a constitutional state. "

If wanting to live in a free society and not wanting to be squashed under the boot of an oppressive, money hungry, power drunken nanny state means that someone is a terrorist.....then I guess Im surrounded by terrorists.
