Yeah the photo in the first one wasn't his real mugshot, I think it was discussed on here before, I'm not sure where the "media" photo came from, it might have been an old photo...

the facial features are the same

he is much skinner and his head and nose are not the same shape as the first released picture, also his jaw is not as wide and he looks like his black eye is fresh although he had it just as bad in the first picture, plus the smiles are diffrent

i wish i knew how to put their pictures side by side it would be easier to tell the diffrence

The first release was obviously photoshopped to make him "appear" deranged and menacing. These are probably the pre-editted mugshots. He appears more calm, however, he seems to be liking the attention.

A slightly different camera angle, maybe the lighting is different.

Any photographer worth his salt will tell you, lighting and angle can totally change the context of a picture (softening shadows or angles or making some one look imposing by taking a low angle etc)

Same person.

All of the differences that I see can be explained by lighting; angle; his posture/stance during the pic; possible slight weightloss in his cheeks.

I see many similarities.
A. & B. Exact same angle of his skull. both sides
C. Same crooked nose. same width
D. Black eye has healed some. now with a slightly greenish/yellow tint (which I have had myself in the past, with a black eye that stayed for several weeks before finally healing)
E. '"Lazy" left eye
F. same little wrinkle coming off the left side of his lip. and the dimple.
G. same angle/size of ear.

It looks like his nose has been broken. Also, is that a scab on his head or a birth mark? It is in both pics, was the new pic more recent or close to the same time? He does look like he has a black eye. Or had one. The first picture released does look like it was shopped. Maybe this is that pic before it was shopped?
