Goals: The goals of this research project are:

- Find out the real reason the Great Pyramids were built
- Find out what is buried underneath the Sphinx
- Find out what is hidden inside the Great Pyramids
- Find out what the Great Pyramids have hidden underneath them
- Discover how the Great Pyramids and the Sphinx were built

Purpose: The purpose of this project is to uncover the buried secrets of the Great Pyramids. This will give people a better understanding and hopefully more respect for the builders of the Great Pyramids? whoever they may be. I also hope that this project will discover how the pyramids were really made.

Alright guys, this research project is officially underway!!!

I have viewed other research threads and have noticed that ALOT of them have died down. I do not want this to happen to ours. My plans are to keep this research project as up-to-date, professional and proper as can be.

Any off topic discussion will not be on the board. Please feel free to U2U one another as we are now a team working towards the common good.

Before you make a post, please, please use a spell-checking system, it's as simple as copying & pasting your text into MSWord or another word processor. This will save all of us a lot of confusion.

The same rules will apply as any other topic in this forum, board rules are located here: www.abovetopsecret.com...

Also, as you will see, when ever you go to post something, at the top it say "Do not simply post news articles in the forums without comment. If you feel inclined to make the board aware of current events, please post the first paragraph, a link to the entire story, AND your opinion, twist or take on the news item." Please follow that rule.

Good luck with your research guys. Hopefully we can make this a great and fun project.

I am really looking forward to each and every one of you responses!

Any questions about this can be forwarded to me via U2U

Location
At the city of Giza, a necropolis of ancient Memphis, and today part of Greater Cairo, Egypt.

History
Contrary to the common belief, only the Great Pyramid of Khufu (Cheops), not all three Great Pyramids, is on top of the list of Wonders. The monument was built by the Egyptian pharaoh Khufu of the Fourth Dynasty around the year 2560 BC to serve as a tomb when he dies. The tradition of pyramid building started in Ancient Egypt as a sophistication of the idea of a mastaba or "platform" covering the royal tomb. Later, several stacked mastabas were used. Early pyramids, such as the Step Pyramid of King Zoser (Djoser) at Saqqara by the famous Egyptian architect, Imhotep, illustrate this connection.

The great pyramid is believed to have been built over a 20 year period. The site was first prepared, and blocks of stone were transported and placed. An outer casing (which disappeared over the years) was then used to smooth the surface. Although it is not known how the blocks were put in place, several theories have been proposed. One theory involves the construction of a straight or spiral ramp that was raised as the construction proceeded. This ramp, coated with mud and water, eased the displacement of the blocks which were pushed (or pulled) into place. A second theory suggests that the blocks were placed using long levers with a short angled foot.

Throughout their history, the pyramids of Giza have stimulated human imagination. They were referred to as "The Granaries of Joseph" and "The Mountains of Pharaoh". When Napoleon invaded Egypt in 1798, his pride was expressed through his famous quote: "Soldats! Du haut de ces Pyramides, 40 sicles nous contemplent". (Soldiers! From the top of these Pyramids, 40 centuries are looking at us)

Today, the Great Pyramid is enclosed, together with the other pyramids and the Sphinx, in the touristic region of the Giza Plateau. Also in the area is the museum housing the mysterious Sun Boat, only discovered in 1954 near the south side of the pyramid. The boat is believed to have been used to carry the body of Khufu in his last journey on earth before being buried inside the pyramid. It may also serve him as a means of transportation in his afterlife journey according to Ancient Egyptian beliefs.

Description
The encasing marble which covered the outside of the pyramid has eroded or been removed over time. With this casing off, the pyramid lost 33 feet (11m) of all of its dimensions. The top platform is 10m square. The base of the pyramid is 754 feet and covers 13 acres. The original entrance to the pyramid was about 15m higher than the entrance that is used today. Apparently Al Mamum, who opened up the new passage, could not find the original opening. The new passageway leads straight across and joins in with the original passage, the descending passage. The descending passage led only to a subterranean chamber. This descending passage that leads down is set at a 26 degree angle that descends down 345 feet (105m) into the earth under the pyramid. The passageway is only 3'6" (1.1m) wide and 3'11" (1.2m) high. The chamber is closed to the public. The chamber itself is room that measures about 46' x 27'1" x 11'6" (14 x 8.3 x 3.5m). There is a passage that leads 100 feet horizontally to the western side. The purpose of the pit is uncertain. It is possible that it could have been the burial chamber, but after a change of plan, it was abandoned.

The descending passage beyond where the new entrance meets it, is closed off by a steel door. The ascending passage rises at the same angle as the descending, 26 degrees. The ascending passage leads up into the pyramid. The ascending passage is the same dimensions as the descending, 3'6" (1.1m) wide and 3'11" (1.2m) high. It can be quite a difficult trek for some people. The passage leads on for 129 feet (39m).

At the point where the ascending passage levels off, you can go two different ways. If you continue on horizontally, this passageway leads into the Queen's Chamber. The Queen's Chamber was never used. The floor in this room was never polished, it's still rough. Egyptologists believe that the chamber was brought to this point and then the builders changed their minds and moved to the King's Chamber. The possible explanation for the abandonment is that the sarcophagus built for Cheops was much too large for the narrow passageways that had already been built. There are ventilating shafts that are another mystery. These shafts are sealed at the extremities on both shafts. The shafts must have been made as the pyramid went up, since the builders most likely would not have continued to make the shafts after the decision to abandon the chamber. It is also thought that these are not actually ventilation shafts, but more of a religious significance. This could be related to the Ancient Egyptian's beliefs that the stars are inhabited by gods and souls of the dead.

The second, and more spectacular, way at the leveling off point of the ascending passage, is to continue upwards to the Grand Gallery. The gallery is 157 feet (48m) long and 28 feet (8.5m) high and is at the same 26 degree angle as the passages. The roof of the gallery is corbelled. It is said that not a piece of paper or a needle can be inserted between the stones making up the roof. The gallery is only 62 inches (1.6m) wide at the bottom and is only 41 inches (1m) wide at the top of the incline.

The Grand Gallery leads into the King's Chamber. The walls of the chamber are made of pink Aswan granite. Inside this chamber is the very large sarcophagus made of Aswan red granite, with no lid. The sarcophagus must have been placed inside the chamber as the pyramid was being built. It is much too large to have been moved in afterwards, as was the usual custom of that time. The King's Chamber is 34'4" x 17'2" x 19'1" high (5.2m x 10.8m x 5.8m high). This chamber also has the possible ventilation shafts as the Queen's Chamber. They are at the same angle as the shafts in the Queen's Chamber. The thought about the religious significance applies to these shafts as well. The main feature of the sky at night, was the Milky Way. The stars were thought to have been the Nile in the sky. The southern shaft from the King's Chamber points directly to where Orion's Belt would have been in the ancient sky. The southern shaft of the Queen's Chamber points to Syrius. The northern shaft of the King's Chamber points to the circumpolar stars. These stars never disappear in the sky. It is thought that these shafts were to help the spirit of the dead pharaoh find the important stars.

Above this chamber is a series of five relieving chambers which are essential to support the weight of the stones above and to distribute the weight away from the burial chamber. The top chamber has a pointed roof made of limestone blocks. This is the most important of the relieving chambers. In these chambers, are found the only inscriptions in the whole pyramid.

Around the Pyramid
As you come out of the pyramid you can see the remains of the original enclosure wall which is on the north and east side. It lies about 10m from the base of the pyramid. Little remains of Cheops' Mortuary Temple. What is left is basalt paving and lies near the east side of the wall. You may also see occasional traces of the causeway that led from the valley temple in the village, Nazlat al-Samman, at the foot of the plateau. This causeway collapsed during the last 150 years. Three small pyramids stand to the east of Cheops' pyramid. These are thought to have been for his sister, Merites, who was also his wife, and possibly two other queens.

To the west of the great pyramid is the Royal Cemetery. It contains 15 mastabas which have just recently been opened to the public after having been closed for over 100 years. Discovered at this site was the mummy of a 4,600 year old female. She had a completely unique plaster encasement that has never been seen or found anywhere else.

At the base of the south face of the Great Pyramid, sits the Boat Pits and Museum. The five boat pits were discovered in 1982. One boat is located at the site and can be seen at the museum. The boat, which is encased in the stones, has no nails. It was held together with ropes and pegs, but not nails, and is amazingly intact. The purpose of these boats may have been intended for travel to the after-life or to accompany the Sun-God on his journey.

New theories concerning the origin and purpose of the Pyramids of Giza have been proposed... Astronomic observatories... Places of cult worship... Geometric structures constructed by a long-gone civilization... Even extraterrestrial-related theories have been proposed with little evidence in support... The overwhelming scientific and historic evidence still supports the conclusion that, like many smaller pyramids in the region, the Great Pyramids were built by the great Ancient Egyptian civilization off the West bank of the Nile as tombs for their magnificent Kings... Tombs where Khufu, Khefre, and Menkaure could start their mystic journey to the afterlife.

Hopefully, we can prove this wrong

Introduction & Name
Most people first associate "sphinx" to the Great Sphinx of Egypt, which was 'rediscovered' by the western world when Napoleon's soldiers came across it in 1798. However, there are other sphinxes in Egypt as well as in other cultures and myth (see Greek and Mars links below). In 1854 Layard wrote in Discoveries at Nineveh (Assyria) of his excavation of two alabaster sphinxes at a palace entrance. These sphinxes, about 5'x5' (1.5m), were winged, beardless, and had ornamental caps. Layard believed they may have been altars.

In Egypt alone there are enough sphinxes that they have been categorized by type: crisophinx (lion body with ram head), hierocosphinx (lion body with hawk head), and androsphinx (lion body with human head, like the Great Sphinx). Viewed as protectors and guardians, the lesser sphinxes are often seen at temple entrances. Rows of sphinx statues can be found at Luxor and Kamak, and new statues are still being found. Since 1994 Jean Yves Empereur has been conducting an underwater dig in Alexandria harbor. He believes he has discovered the remains of the Pharos Lighthouse wonder, and has thus far located 26 sphinx statues dating from Sesostris III (12th Dynasty, 1991-1786 BCE) through Psamtik III (circa 525 BCE in the 26th Dynasty).

The name itself derives from the Greek word "sphingo," to strangle, or "sphingein," to bind tight, based on the Greek Sphinx's habit of strangling its victims. The name was subsequently applied to the Egyptian and other arabic sphinxes because of their physical similarity to descriptions of the mythical Greek Sphinx, although the construction of the Great Sphinx certainly predates the Greek story.

Although it is unknown what the Great Sphinx was originally called by the Egyptians, it is referred to circa 1500 B.C.E. as Hor-em-akht (Horus in the Horizon), Bw-How (Place of Horus) and also as Ra-horakhty (Ra of Two Horizons).

An air of mystery has always surrounded the inscrutable Sphinx, causing speculation about its true age and purpose, method of construction, hidden chambers, role in prophesy, proximity to the equally mysterious pyramids and helping to associate it with riddles and secret knowledge.

Location
The Great Sphinx is located in Egypt on the Giza (Gizeh) plateau, situated about six miles west of Cairo. This area is part of the necropolis of ancient Memphis, the seat of power for the pharaohs. The Sphinx faces due east a short distance from a trio of large pyramids (Great Pyramid of Khufu (Cheops), Khafre (Chephren) and Menkaura (Mycerinus)). Giza is a rich archaeological site which also contains the smaller Queen's pyramids, temples, causeways, and numerous rectangular tombs (mastabas) for attendants and other family members.

The Great Sphinx is a statue with the body of a male lion with the head of a human. The Great Sphinx was excavated and carved from a relatively soft, natural limestone outcropping on the Giza Plateau. The extensions which fan out at the sides of the head are part of the royal nemes (striped headcloth). At one time there was a uraeus (rearing cobra headpiece which protected from evil forces) and a narrow beard. It looms 241 feet long and 65 feet high.

Between the forelegs of the Sphinx and in front of his chest, is the "Dream" Stela (a carved or inscribed commemorative stone slab or pillar) of Thutmose IV (c.1400-1390 BCE). This granite stela dates from the first year of Thutmose's reign and recounts a dream from his early years in which the Sphinx (or Horus?) promised him kingship. In return, Thutmose would clear the sand from around the body of the Sphinx. In front of the stela is a freestanding altar, a remnant of a chapel placed here during the reign of Rameses II (c.1279-1213 BCE).

Age of the Sphinx
The traditional and probably still majority view is that the Great Sphinx was built at the same time as the nearby Pyramid of Khafre (Khaf-Ra, Chephren) in about 2540 B.C.E. The face of the Great Sphinx has been thought to be Khafre's, though recent evidence casts doubt on this notion.

However there has been lively debate in recent years arguing that it may be anywhere from two to four times that old. John Anthony West first noticed weathering patterns on the Sphinx that were consistent with water erosion rather than erosion produced by wind and sand. These patterns were not found on other structures on the plateau. Geologist Robert Schock agreed that water erosion was in evidence.

Egypt is arid today, but about 10,000 years ago the land was wet and rainy. West and Schock conclude the Sphinx must be on the order of 7,000 to 10,000 years old in order to have the marks of water erosion they found.

Also, Robert Bauval and Graham Hancock have developed a theory that the Sphinx, when considered with the neighboring pyramids and ancient writings, is part of, and possibly the first element of, a kind of astronomical map related to the constellation Orion. They have concluded that the "best fit" for this map is found for the position of the stars as they were in 10,500 B.C.E.

Finally, there are no inscriptions or writings that directly indicate the builder or date of construction for the Sphinx. There are, in fact, some minor references that the Sphinx existed prior to the pyramids.

The evidence is controversial. Yet consider ... even using the traditional age, the Great Sphinx is 4,500 years old! Even the standing stones at ancient Stonehenge are not that old (though special use of the site itself dates to the 8th or 9th millennium). This Sphinx's great age is part of its wonder, and a big part of the reason we have insufficient written record to know more about its age and construction.

Construction and Maintenance
The Great Sphinx was not 'carved' in the usual sense of the word, rather giant blocks of soft limestone were quarried around the Great Sphinx to give its basic shape. This is why the Great Sphinx appears to sit below the surrounding land in its own 'nook.' These blocks, some many times more massive than the blocks used in pyramid construction (up to about 70 tons, and measuring 30'x10'x12'), were used to build the 'sphinx temple' located immediately in front of the Great Sphinx. Additional shaping of the body was done, then finer shaping was accomplished by casing or sheathing the body with masonry. (Similarly, the blocks used to construct the pyramids, while finely and masterfully fitted, did not produce smooth faces. Their step-like sides were shaped with masonry, as can be seen in the pyramid of Khafre where only the top remains shaped.)

The head was more traditionally sculpted from the same stone, and the forepaws were separately made from blocks of limestone.

As many of the ancient marvels, the Sphinx has suffered the ravages of time, man and modern pollution. The rearing cobra headpiece (uraeus) that sat on the king's forehead is lost, the nose is damaged (though contrary to popular it was lost prior to the arrival of Napoleon's army), and the beard now consists of only museum fragments. The Great Sphinx has fallen to disrepair and been mostly covered by sand many times. Records indicate as early as 1400 B.C.E. Thutmose IV cleared sand covering the Sphinx. Most recently, after at least four clearings since 1800, a massive and expensive restoration and preservation project has been underway from 1950 to the present. Early on in this project, regular cement was used for repairs which was incompatible with the limestone, and actually caused additional damage.

There is some speculation that the Sphinx may have started as a yardang. According to this theory, a limestone outcrop which perhaps already suggested a head or face was carved with no body. The head would have appeared to stand on the ground much like the states of Easter Island. Much later, perhaps following major climate changes, the excavation took place which formed the body as we know it today. If this theory has merit, the origins of the Sphinx (although not as a sphinx) could be very ancient indeed.

Who Does the Sphinx Represent
Egyptologists have long believed that the head of the Great Sphinx was intended to be a likeness of the pharaoh Khafre because of the proposed dates of its construction, the use of the royal headpiece and its physical relationship to Khafre's pyramid.

However, in 1996, a NY detective and expert in identification, took various measurements of the size, angles and proportions of the head and concluded that it did not match known representations of Khafre's face. There was a greater resemblance to Khafre's elder brother Djedefre, however the lack of any records regarding the head leaves us in a bit of a quandary. It is possible, but not likely, that the Great Sphinx was given a generic royal head. Guardian's Sphinx site (links below) has a facial comparison showing the Sphinx, Khafre and Djedefre, though comparison is difficult without seeing several angles in detail.

You can tell by examining some of the photographs that the head of the Great Sphinx is relatively small in relation to the lion body, which is otherwise in correct proportion. Possible explanations could be that the head has been re-carved one or more times since the first image was constructed. A subsequent pharaoh, or pharaohs, may have preferred to see his own likeness, or perhaps the original head was that of a ram or hawk and the shape left insufficient material for an accurate facial rendering without reducing the size of the head even further. Repairing damage to the head over thousands of years might have necessitated reducing or altering facial proportions. All this could account for the small size of the head in relation to the body, particularly if the Great Sphinx is older than traditionally believed.

Where as almost everyone in the world has heard of the Egyptian pyramids and the Sphinx and all agree they are one of the Seven Wonders of the World (the only one left we can see in near its glory), there seems to be much disagreement about when, who and why they were built .

I will be doing a series of posts that will deal with alternative explanations to these questions.

Most modern archeologists agree with the Egyptian head of antiquities (that they were built around 2600 to 2500b.c by the Egyptian pharaoh Khufu and his successors). I disagree and will present my reasoning; I will do my best to be clear when I am stating fact and when I am dealing in opinion.

www.touregypt.net...

It is my opinion that the Egyptian pyramids were built 10-15 thousand years ago durning the "Age of Leo - 10,970-8810 BC"-if not more-how could one come to that conclusion. First, if one is to take a good look at the top part of the Sphinx, you will notice very clear signs of water erosion; wind and sand erosion leave different types of weathering. Another clue pointing to this is if you look back 15,000 years and take into account stellar drift, you would see that the sphinx now points to the constellation, Leo (the lion) as well as the air shafts in the great pyramid lining up exactly with stars. If you look at the head of the sphinx, you will see that it is proportionally much smaller than the rest of the body (all other parts of the body are of the same scale) almost like it was recarved from something larger -lions head?

The technology used to create the pyramids is far greater than Egypt has now (much less thousands of years ago for that matter, better than any country in the world - now. The difference in base height for the great pyramid is less than one inch from one end to the other. The whole great pyramid has sunk about 6 inches since it was built (geological observations at the base), modern standards allow for sinking an inch/year as acceptable.
The perfection of the stone edges and with which they fit together- a knife blade cannot fit in between the stones. Dont forget the size and weight of some of the stones, weighing two tons or more.
Some people have tried building a much smaller scale model using techniques probably available to Egyptians at the time, they were able to get this done but it proves nothing.

What? but, you said they built a scale model. That does not matter; you see many things do not scale up exactly as when they are small. A perfect example is the ant, yes an ant. In its natural size, it can carry thousands of times its own weight, fall hundreds of times its size and live. However, as the ant model grows in size, this no longer applies. By the time an ant is the size of a cat, its legs would no longer support its own body, much less anything else. What this means is just because you can build a ten foot tall pyramid, does not means the same ways would work for 481 (plus the 30 cap that is missing).

As for the great pyramid, if it was Khufu tomb, where are all the carvings on the wall talking about how great he was, all the battles he won, how he was a divine being?
If we look at Egyptian arcatechture of the time, they wrote all over everything they built with hieroglyphs.

There is almost nothing in there. I could understand if the mummy and all the gold was taken, like the other tombs that have been plundered, but in all the other tombs, they left the writing on the walls (very little to no dollar value).

How is it that if the pyramids and Sphinx predate the Egyptians, we dont know about it, here is one possible explanation. Lets just say that an Egyptian pharaoh found the Sphinx and the pyramids in the desert and had the sand around them removed. Like us, he would be very impressed by these items. Lets say he had the head recarved to his image and claims to have built the pyramids too. All the written records would say that and how long before those who knew and those that were told the truth were dead the truth would die with them since what we know is from written records of Egypt and historians who vested Egypt. As you might guess, all visitors would be told of Khufus great deeds.

Sorry for getting in so late.

The Sphinx has amazed historians for centuries as well as tourists. When Napoleon came to Egypt he tried to calcuate how many stones it took to build the pyramids. His conclusion was that there were enough stones to build a wall around France.

There are many many theories of why and who built the pyramids. These can range from aliens to pompous Pharaohs.

One intresting fact about the pyramids are that they are anyomous in the fact that there are no known inscriptions on them. Also the stones are believed to have come from Southern Egypt and be brought up by boat. Then they were pulled on wooden slabs to the construction site. The precision of the pyramids are perfect and the weight of the stones would be too heavy to lift without a crane. Some have specualted that aliens helped the Egyptians do this amazing feat, while Egypologists like the theory that they used ramps and slopes to move the stones. Still that would be a massive amount of many power.

The 51 Degrees

The pyramid has a triangular shape with an angle of 51 for each side. Amazing for a anceint culture to get something that precise. Many Egyptologists believe this is pure coinincidence.

"Inside the pyramid, you have three chambers. The lowest chamber is below the ground level of the pyramid and we don't know why it was built. Then we have the Queen's chamber and the King's chamber. In the two last chambers, there are two small corridors leaving the chamber which lead outside. The corridors in the King's chamber lead directly to the outside part of the pyramid. In the Queen chamber's, it's not the same. A German engineer conceived a little robot able to make his way in those mysterious corridors. After lots of problems, the robot finally reached the end of the corridor which was blocked by a door.
A door? Yes, it could mean there is still a chamber behind that door which hasn't been explored so far. Hancock and Bauval suggest it could contain some ancient documents about the vanished civilisation mentioned above." cited from (www.angelfire.com...)

With computer-aided technology, the German engineers, Hancock and Beauval, discovered that the corridors leaving the chambers were exactly pointing two stars: Orion and Sirius, the two most important stars in the Egyptian sky.

The Wall

"Ramses II's father, carved the history of Ancient Egypt on the wall of a corridor. He shows who ruled Egypt from the first pharaoh to the last one, himself. That's what the left wall shows. What about the right wall? It describes who ruled Egypt before the first pharaoh when Egypt was still ruled by the Gods. Who were those Gods?"-(cited from above website). Some speculate the these "Gods" were aliens who lived amongst the Egyptians.
In the "Area 51" sci/fi series of novels, author Robert Doherty adressed the theory, as having the alien race Airlia live with the Egyptians after Atlantis was destroyed. Of course this is pure fiction but, the scenario is certainly possible.

The Great Sphinx

The Great Sphinx should not be confused with other sphinxes found in Egypt. The Great Sphinx is the large one near the Giza pyramids.

The face of the Sphinx seems to represent pharaoh Khafre, ruler of Egypt from 2520-2494 BC. Egyptologists have compared the only statue of Khafre we have today with the face of the Sphinx and they realised there were some similarities.

"Mark Lehner, professor of oriental languages at the University of Chicago, published an article in National Geographic (in 91) which proved that the face of the Sphinx was indeed the face of Khafre. Therefor he used computers to reconstruct the face of the Sphinx. The problem is that he first used Khafre's face as a model, so it's obvious that he came to the conclusion that the face of the Sphinx and the Khafre's face were the same. If he had used Elvis Presley's face as a model, he would have concluded that the Sphinx was a representation of the dead singer." (cited from the above site).

So far no one has determined the real date of when it was built, Hancock and Beauval say it was built long before the 4th Dynasty when Khafre ruled.

"When you have a look at the head of the Sphinx, it's obvious that the head is too small in comparison with the rest of the body. The original head was much bigger and the actual "Egyptian" face has been carved later on. In 1993, Frank Domingo began to analyse the face of the Sphinx. Frank Domingo is a specialist in facial analysis for the police of New York. His conclusions were that the Sphinx and Khafre were two different persons. His conclusions were totally opposed to Lehner's theory. Who was right? The Sphinx is really a riddle because it can't be dated by C14 techniques and there are no inscriptions which proves it has been built during the 4th dynasty. We can say the Sphinx is completely anonymous!

Lehner says that there is one syllable ('Khaf') carved between the front legs of the Sphinx and this proves that it has been built under the reign of Khafre. But 'Khaf' doesn't mean anything because the names of the pharaohs were always written in closed cartouches. And even if that syllable had been carved by Khafre, it doesn't mean he built the Sphinx. It could simply mean that Khafre repaired the Sphinx and gave his face to it. Another carved rock from that period has been found and it shows that Cheops had already seen the Sphinx. Cheops was born before Khafre which means that Khafre couldn't have built the Sphinx" (cited from above site).

The Hidden Chamber

In the 70s radar has shown that there were "holes" under the Sphinx. One of these is large enough to be a room. The Egyptian government has been protective of the site and so far has not allowed any diggings to see if these holes are man made or are natural.

A man named Edgar Caryce popularized the idea of a hidden chamber. He is qouted as too saying.

"A record of Atlantis from the beginning of those periods when the Spirit took form, or began the encasements in that land; and the developments of the peoples throughout their sojourn; together with the record of the first destruction, and the changes that took place in the land; with the record of the sojournings of the peoples and their varied activities in other lands, and a record of the meetings of all the nations or lands, for the activities in the destruction of Atlantis; and the building of the pyramid of initiation, together with whom, what, and where the opening of the records would come, that are as copies from the sunken Atlantis. For with the change, it [Atlantis] must rise again. In position, this lies -- as the sun rises from the waters -- as the line of the shadows (or light) falls between the paws of the Sphinx; that was set later as the sentinel or guard and which may not be entered from the connecting chambers from the Sphinx's right paw until the time has been fulfilled when the changes must be active in this sphere of man's experience. Then [it lies] between the Sphinx and the river. [378-16; Oct 29, 1933]"

I have discovered a link about the passages that lead intothe Sphinx www.catchpenny.org...

A Japaneese team made these discoveries about the Sphinx.

A. South of the Sphinx. The Japanese indicated the existence of a hollow 2.5 m. to 3 m. underground. And, they found indications of a groove on the Sphinx body that extends beneath the Sphinx.
B. North of the Sphinx. The Japanese found another groove similar to the southern one which may indicate that maybe there is a tunnel underneath the Sphinx connecting the south and north grooves.
C. In front of the two paws of the Sphinx. The Japanese found another hollow space about 1 m. to 2 m. below surface. Again, they believe that it might extend underneath the Sphinx.

Over the next few days I will analyize the differnt theories of the undergroudn chmaber and compile them.

Ok, here is the next installment of Alternative Ideas for the Sphinx and the Pyramids.

There is thought to be a connection between the Cydonia region on planet Mars and Gaza with the pyramids of Egypt. The well known D&M (pyramid?) on Mars, like the Great Pyramid of Egypt, is aligned virtually north south towards the spin axis of the planet. Former NASA consultant Richard Hoagland argues that the Face on Mars is 'not merely the image of a terrestrial hominid...lying where it has no business being. One half (the right) is also the perfect image of a cat; specifically a lion - the king of beasts- the Sphinx is a lion-cat.

The Egyptian city of Cairo which is built near the ancient pyramids of Gaza gets its name from an old Egyptian word which means city of mars

If you look at picture # 13 on this next link, you will see an image from a cliff on mars that look like an Egyptian Queen.

imageevent.com..." target="_blank" class="postlink" rel="nofollow"> imageevent.com...

Lets look at another idea that is not accepted by the mainstream, the room(s) under the Sphinx, Sphinxs paw or between the sphinx and the great pyramid depending on who you read. Edgar Cayce, a well known telepathic/clairvoyant,
Talked of a hall of records that would be discovered and would change mankind and his history and science forever. He indicated the knowledge came from Atlantis and would not be found until the time is right-but we were not given exact indication of when that is-though he did say it would be discovered between 1998 and 2001.I found this site, I dont think it is the hall of records, but it is under the sphinx and interesting non the less.

phoenix.akasha.de..." target="_blank" class="postlink" rel="nofollow"> phoenix.akasha.de...

The point I was trying to get at is there is still so much more to Gaza than meets the eye, until it is discovered or discovered and released to the general public.

Yoshimura and a team of Japanese scientists conducted tests using electro-magnetic waves and radar technology
Professor Sakuji Yoshimura along with a team of Japanese scientists conducted experiments in the Queen's Chamber using electro-magnetic waves and radar equipment. This high-tech approach yielded results similar to the French (1986, below). With the confirmation of a 'cavity'some believe a hidden chamber possibly containing the treasures of Cheopsclose to the French team's drillings, they found another large cavity behind the N-W wall of the inner Queen's Chamber and a 'tunnel'possibly passagewayoutside and to the south of the Great Pyramid. Again, shortly after these intriguing discoveries, the Egyptian authorities stepped in and terminated Yoshimura's work. All acute paranoia aside, it begs one to think 'they' ARE trying to hide something, or do they want to find it first.

www.riddleofthesphinx.com...

Why would that be a big deal? What if what was found clearly showed that the Sphinx and the Pyramids were built by another civilization-predating Egypt? Why is that a big deal? Think of the Mayan ruins in Mexico. Mexico isnt thought of as once being mighty pyramid builders; they are just the folks who moved in after the fact. I think the same is true of Egypt and the pyramids, but Egypt is clearly not going to let that kind of info out. It may also hold information that those who are in charge dont think the general public is ready. Then there is the worse reason in the world, the information might go against their religion-Egypt is a Muslim country. Would Muslims destroy important historical fact/items in the name of their god-they already have. Much of the alabaster from the great pyramids was used to build alabaster mosques in Egypt.

Alright, here is some numbers to think about...

HOW MANY BLOCKS DID IT ACTUALLY TAKE TO BUILD THE GREAT PYRAMID?
Most books and encyclopedia state that there are 2.3 million blocks of stone in the Great Pyramid of Khufu (Cheops), with no mention of method used to figure this.

Socrates determined the size and weight of the blocks (a standard block),
and ran a Pascal Computer Program (a mathematical model of all the blocks of stone needed; written by the author to optimize the sizes and weights of the stones) to come up with the real number of blocks used. Since the volume of passageways and internal chambers are very small compared to the high volume of the pyramid, they are ignored at this time, just as though the pyramid was built of solid stone blocks with mortared joints.

THE SIZE OF THE BLOCKS
The size of the blocks are based on a chance discovery in 1837 by Howard Vyse. He found two of the original side casing blocks at the base of the pyramid, 5 ft x 8 ft x 12 ft, with an angle of 51 degrees, 51 minutes cut on one of the 12 ft. sides. Each of these stones weighed (5 x 8 x 12)/2000 = 39.9 tons before the face angle was cut. These originally were used for the side casing stones of Step No. 1, in the Pascal computer program. The sizes of all the other blocks were scaled from these two original blocks of the remaining Steps 2 to 201.

THE GREAT PYRAMID'S DIMENSIONS AND THEIR LAYOUT
One acre = 43,560 sq. ft, or 208.71 feet on a side.
For the pyramid's base, length = width = (square root of 13.097144 acres) x 208.71 feet = 755.321 feet. Or 755.321 x 12 = 9063.85 inches.

Height = (755.321 x tangent 51deg 51 min)/2 = 480.783 feet. Or 480.783 x 12 = 5769.403 inches.

For the cap stone base: length = width = (32.18 x 2)/tangent 51deg 51 min = 50.55 inches.

The average size of a pyramid stone = (5 x 8 x 12)
The average side measurement, at the base = 759.3 ft.
The height used was 201 steps high, or 480 feet. (This is minus the height
of the Capstone, which was one piece in itself.

The number reached by the Pascal computer program was 603,728 blocks used.
The solid core takes up the space of 13,016 stones. So, the actual number of stones used to build the Great Pyramid is 603,728 - 13,016 = 590,712.
This figure is (2,300,000 - 590,712) = 1,709,288 blocks less than the often
published 2.3 million value.

NUMBER OF VARIOUS BLOCKS OF STONE USED TO BUILD THE GREAT PYRAMID
Number of platform blocks used (2.5 ft x 10 ft square), equals (759.3 x 759.3(pyramid base)) - (412.7 x 412.7(core base))/(10 x 10(platform block base)) = 4,062.

Number of CORNER Casing stones where the pyramid faces meet equals 201 steps x 4 sides = 804.

Number of side casing stones equals ((244 x 127) + 8,953) = 39,941.

Due to Bedrock Core, in the center of Step 1 through 10, the total number of blocks needed is reduced by 13,016.

THE NUMBER OF ALL BLOCKS BEHIND THE CASING STONES EQUALS
(590,712 - 804 - 39,941) = 549,967.

PLACING THE BLOCKS
The average number of blocks that have to be placed each day equals (590,712 blocks)/(20years x 364.25 days) = 81 blocks per day.

If 10 crews of 300 men work on each of the four sides of the pyramid, then
the totals of 40 crews and 12,000 men will be needed. Each of the crews will be responsible to place 81/40 = 2 blocks per day.

The workload passes through three phases of decreasing difficulty, which are determined by the weights of the heaviest blocks:
Steps 1 through 21 (60.59 to 27.24 tons)
Steps 22 through 136 (17.66 to 6.44 tons)
Steps 127 through 201 (3.05 to 2.63 tons)

As the weight of the blocks decrease, Step to Step, the sizes of the drag crews will decrease. However, when this happens, the number of blocks needed to be dragged each day can be reduced because one large block can be dragged and cut into several smaller blocks that are needed.

As the pyramid rises there is less space for the crews to work in and fewer block to be placed. In other words, the number of workers that will be needed depends on three factors of: weight of blocks, number of blocks to be placed, and the working space available.

Ii have come across more info on The Sphinx and the rumored Hall of Records.

Edgar Cayce believed that the opening to the Halls of Records, which hold the history of the Earth, will be found in the right shoulder of the Sphinx.

"If you bisect the golden mean rectangle that fits around the spiral at the Gizah plateau, it passes exactly through the headdress of the Sphinx. Also, extended from the southern face of the middle pyramid and the line that bisects the golden mean rectangle, forms a cross that marks a very specific spot on the right shoulder of the Sphinx." (www.crystalinks.com...)

Also on the site is this which is too intresting to paraphrase.

"One of the problems with the Sphinx is that the right shoulder - the area marked by the cross - keeps cracking. The Egyptians have been trying to patch it to keep it together. The head is also falling off. Thoth told me that the head will fall off and that, in the neck, there will be found a large golden sphere, which is a time capsule. The Egyptians are doing everything they can to keep the head and right shoulder from falling off. Thoth also told him that everything was set up at a higher level so that the Halls of Records would be discovered before the end of 1999.

Thoth said 148 sets of three people would try to enter the Halls of Records, until one of these sets, coming from the West, would open the doorway by making a sound with their voice. Inside there would be a spiral staircase going into an underground room. The Japanese have the technical ability to see this room clearly enough with instruments to detect a clay pot in the corner.

There are three channels that go out from this room. If you know how to read it, the clay pot will tell you where to go and what to do. Thoth said that the three people from the West would enter and go down the right channel. If you go down the wrong channel, or if you are not the right group of people, you will die- a real "Indiana Jones"- type scene. If you are one of the chosen three people you can walk right in without any problem.

These three people eventually will come down a long stone hallway lit on its own with no lights; that is, the air itself would be luminous. High up on the left side of the wall would be etched forty-eight sacred geometry drawings. These are the illustrations of the chromosomes of Christ-consciousness-- The first one being the 'flower of life'.

At the end of the hallway there is a slight righthand turn into a large room. Sitting on the raised shelves of this room is physical evidence of the existence of civilization on this planet for the last five and a half million years.

At the front of the room is a stone. At the top of the stone these three people would find something like a photograph, an image of themselves. Beneath the images in the photograph they would find their names- not necessarily the names they were given at birth, but their true names. Underneath the names would be a date, which would be that actual day. Thoth said that each of these three people will be allowed to remove one of these objects and take it out."

The idea of the Hall of Records is very fascinating indeed. But the question remains, who put it there if it does exist.

I have discoverd this piece of info to answer that. Edgar Cayce believed that the records were from Atlantis, brought to Egypt by the survivors. These records contain the history of man. Cayce also said that another Hall of Records was taken to the Yucatan. According to Dr. Greg Little, there are three of the Halls, one of which is under the Sphinx.

"The Cayce story of the establishment of these three record halls begins at the time when Atlantis had already lost a battle for world conquestessentially the same story given by Plato circa 350 B.C., wherein he related that Atlantis' destruction was a result of trying to conquor the world. The Atlanteans had become dominated by a war-like group of political leaders who sought to enslave others, including their own populace. However, within the Atlantean political structure were a group of priests who remained devoted to spirituality. Interestingly, the Atlantean priesthood became aware that a cataclysmic event was about to occur. This event, they were told, was going to wipe Atlantis from the face of the Earth. In the March and April issues of the ARE's monthly membership newsletter, Ancient Mysteries, we discussed the source of this information. Incredibly, according to the Cayce readings, this knowledge was transmitted to a key Atlantean priest through extraterrestrial sources! In fact, the Cayce readings do contain several separate references to ancient visits by extraterrestrial beings."- Dr. Little

More from Dr. Little.

"After the Atlantean priests verified that the prediction of the cataclysm was true, they worked out a plan to preserve key historical records and information about Atlantean technology. This is what is contained in the Hall of Records, along with a variety of implements from the Atlantean culture. Perhaps the best explanation of how they verified that the cataclysm was certain has been worked out by England's Andrew Collins in his book, Gateway to Atlantis. Specifically, Collins followed-up on earlier work by the German scientist Otto Muck, who discovered that a fragmenting comet struck the Atlantic Ocean and the whole of Eastern America. This even, called the "Carolina Bays Event" by geologists was initially thought to have happened in about 9000 B.C. However, recent research by physicists has shown that the event took place sometime just after 10,500 B.C. (see our book and 68-minute DVD documentary The ARE's Search for Atlantis for documentation and an explanation). Thus, if a comet was the source of the cataclysmic event that devestated Atlantis, it is probable that the impending disaster could have been confirmed by Atlantean astronomers.

The timeframe of the establishment of the three Hall of Records was circa 10,500 B.C. This date coincides with Dr. Robert Schoch's analysis of weathering of the Sphinx as well as computations made by the UK's Graham Hancock, Adrian Gilbert, and Robert Bauval.

According to Cayce, prior to the destruction of Atlantis, Atlantean priests made three identical sets of records and artifacts that they wanted to be preserved. These can be viewed as similar to modern time-capsules. Three separate groups were then charged with traveling to widely separated places where they were to construct chambers to house the records. The chambers were supposed to be made in such a manner that they could withstand the tests of time as well as natural disasters. In addition, the chambers were supposed to be hidden in such a way that individuals could not accidentally stumble upon them. That is, they were constructed so that access could be gained only by a deliberate effort to find themwhen the time and technology was right."

"The first record hall was in Egypt at Giza. According to Cayce, access to the chamber lies in the bedrock under the right paw of the Sphinx. ARE researchers verified the presence of "cavities" deep under this area utilizing ground-penetrating radar, but their efforts to access the opening were stimied by Egyptian authorities for a host of reasons. However, the presence of either a cave or a tunnel in that location has since been verified. About two months ago Zahi Hiwass, the individual in charge of all Egyptian archaeological areas, announced that the UK's Birmingham University was contracted to utilize an advanced form of ground-penetrating radar in that area with the intention of finding all subsurface tunnels and chambers."- Dr.Little

I believe we can now agree that there is in fact a chamber under the Sphinx. According to more alternative theories, it is this Hall of Records. Others just belive it is just natural.

Later today I am going to study the theories of what is under the pyramids, and report back tommorrow.

Alright, I am posting this on behalf of neomoniker because he is having trouble posting:

I think this attribution to "God" by Ramses II father helps to substantiate further the hypothesis that the Great Pyramids were constructed long before any classical Egyptian civilization emerged on the seen. The ancient Egyptians having no written or oral history of who or what built the pyramid monuments found a quick & easy solution to the puzzle by giving a spiritual deity, "God," all of the credit for their creation.

I've been reading through to posts in your project and some of them are very interesting.

Even though I'm not officially a member, I'd like to add a couple of points regarding the age of the Sphinx.

A lot of people latch onto the 10,500 BCE date given by Graham Hancock as the "actual" date of it's construction. Supposedly this is based on the water erosion found on the megalith. Unfortunately for Hancock, however, there was no 11th century BCE wet period. Egypt at that time is in the middle of an ice age and was very, very cold and very, very dry.

This isn't to say that the traditional Egyptologist date is correct; it can't be because of the water erosion. Dr. Robert Schoch, the geologist who determined that there was water erosion present, concluded that the erosion pattern was "perfectly consistent" with the rainfall during the period between 7,000 and 5,000 BC

My source for this information is the book "The Stargate Conspiracy" by Lynn Pickett and Clive Prince. It explores some of the claims made by traditional Egyptologist and their New Egyptologist counterparts. Basically Picknett and Prince point out that both sides are doing a heckuva lot of wishful thinking.

This is a U2U I revieved from BIGGIE.

If anyone else out there has any information, feel free to U2U me and I will post it for you.

Hey guys, lets not forget about the most reasonable answer to building......

" The most common theory for moving large blocks is to slide logs under the large stones to make mobility easier. The block wouldve had large ropes with people pushing the block forward, while several men would remove the last log uncovered by the stone. The end log that was removed wouldve been transported to the front where it would complete the cycle under the stone, until it went to the back again."

But the question remains, how would they get it into position?

"This idea has also left scientists baffled. The most common theory for placement of each stone is said to have a ramp that went around the pyramids sides. Some conclude the ramp only touched once side of the pyramid. This might have been true, but the ramp might have had more material then the pyramid and would have made placement of each block difficult."

But!!

" Herodotus was a Greek historian who traveled to Egypt around 450 B.C. and wrote that the Egyptians had some sort of gear that was used in lifting these large blocks. Although this might sound extraordinary, scientists have found no proof of any such lifting devices."

Could Herodotus be telling the truth? Could the mystery of the pyramids be buried under the sand of Egypt? We may never know....

How many logs would this have taken... Do you know how many trees would be needed?

These blocks wieghted tons, and the logs would have been worn down after each block, which means they would need to be replaced.

That could lead to alot of trees being cut down? Do they have this amount of trees in Giza?

"What is that which has one voice and yet becomes four-footed and two-footed and three-footed?"
[Apollodorus 3.5.7]

"What goes on four legs at dawn, two at noon, and three at dusk?"
[Parabola: Summer 2000][

The winged [Greek] sphinx of Boeotian Thebes, the most famous in legend, was said to have terrorized the people by demanding the answer to a riddle taught her by the Muses and devouring a man each time the riddle was answered incorrectly. Eventually Oedipus gave the proper answer: man, who crawls on all fours in infancy, walks on two feet when grown, and leans on a staff in old age; the sphinx thereupon killed herself. From this tale apparently grew the legend that the sphinx was omniscient, and even today the wisdom of the sphinx is proverbial. [From: Britannica Online]
Ever since its relatively recent rediscovery, theories and controversies, much in imitation of the desert sands, have swirled around the Sphinx. Perhaps this situation is not new, and the same occurred after previous rediscoveries, which were also followed by feverish attempts at repair and preservation, after which the desert once again claimed all but its enigmatic Sphinx head.

The real riddle of the Sphinx at Giza relates to its very identity. Everything that you may have learned in school or through mainstream educational programs is most likely erroneous. The people who have contributed to the status quo of the now stale and challenged "accepted theory" appear to be reluctant to accept new research. In some cases, those charged with protecting this precious leonine treasure actually deny access to researchers with whom they have had disagreements over theory.

Finding fresh, reliable news on just what is going on is very difficult. When one does come across new information, s/he must wade through rumor, supposition, and, even more unfortunately, vitriolic back-biting.

The Great Sphinx casts spells of charming. S/he first enchanted me when I was about 7 and captured me quite sublimely a few years ago while I was digging for information on the original Oracle at Delphi. Whenever a standstill came about in my Delphi research, I'd investigate the Sphinx. At the time, the most interesting item I'd found concerning the Sphinx was what Edgar Cayce had uttered while in trance: that there were hidden areas below the Sphinx and that a Hall of Records would be discovered near the end of this century. All of the other resources were dry, uninteresting, and relegated this great, ancient structure to a minor existence -- constructed only as a memorial to one egomaniacal pharaoh or another. To me, this theory lacked common sense.

Educational television programs seemed bent on taking an exciting topic and making it as boring as possible. Spokespersons were typically old, slow-speaking, uninspiring gents who gave the impression of never having left their museums.

Along came a few "new" researchers who had also fallen under the Sphinx's spell. We have John Anthony West to thank for his having contacted Robert Schoch, a respected geologist, stratigrapher, and paleontologist. Professor Schoch has presented evidence that the Sphinx has been eroded by precipitation -- long periods of rains.

Graham Hancock and Robert Bauval took this information and combined it with their own research and that of many others. The work that they've done, together and individually, is much too detailed to cover on a few pages of a web site. Their coauthored book, The Message of the Sphinx should be available in libraries by now.

Almost a century ago, P.D. Ouspensky wrote about his visit to the Sphinx. You may find that his down-to-earth yet mystical description explains a portion of the Sphinx's magnetic attraction.

I hope you'll enjoy the reading selections and links provided below. Keep in mind that this is not the main page of the site. To see a table of contents, go to the main page of Morgana's Observatory. This section will be continually updated as I come across new information. In the meantime, be sure to visit the >Forum to read what others have to say and to post your own opinions and questions.

The Sphinx lies on the Gizeh plateau, where the great pyramids stand, and where there are many other monuments, already discovered and still to be discovered, and a number of tombs of different epochs. The Sphinx lies in a hollow, above the level of which only its head, neck and part of its back project.

By whom, when, and why the Sphinx was erected -- of this nothing is known. Present-day archaeology takes the Sphinx to be prehistoric. [Note: Ouspensky was writing between 1908-1914.]

This means that even for the most ancient of the ancient Egyptians, those of the first dynasties six to seven thousand years before the birth of Christ, the Sphinx was the same riddle as it is for us today.

From the stone tablet, inscribed with drawings and hieroglyphs, found between the paws of the Sphinx, it was once surmised that the figure represented the image of the Egyptian god Harmakuti, "The Sun on the Horizon." But it has long been agreed that this is an altogether unsatisfactory interpretation and that the inscription probably refers to the occasion of some partial restoration made comparatively recently.

As a matter of fact, the Sphinx is older than historical Egypt, older than her gods, older than the pyramids, which, in their turn, are much older than is thought.

The Sphinx is indisputably one of the most remarkable, if not the most remarkable, of the world’s works of art. I know nothing that it would be possible to put side by side with it. It belongs indeed to quite another art than the art we know. Beings such as ourselves could not create a Sphinx. Nor can our culture create anything like it. The Sphinx appears unmistakably to be a relic of another, a very ancient culture, which was possessed of knowledge far greater than ours.

There is a tradition or theory that the Sphinx is a great, complex hieroglyph, or a book in stone, which contains the whole totality of ancient knowledge, and reveals itself to the person who can read this strange cipher which is embodied in the forms, correlations and measurements of the different parts of the Sphinx. This is the famous riddle of the Sphinx, which from the most ancient times so many wise souls have attempted to solve.

On the Sphinx
"It would be well if this entity were to seek either of the three phases of the ways and means in which those records of the activities of individuals were preserved -- the one in the Atlantean land, that sank, which will rise and is rising again; another in the place of the records that leadeth from the Sphinx to the hall of records, in the Egyptian land; and another in the Aryan or Yucatan land, where the temple there is overshadowing same. (2012-1; Sep 25, 1939)"

"...the entity joined with those who were active in putting the records in forms that were partially of the old characters of the ancient or early Egyptian, and part in the newer form of the Atlanteans. These may be found, especially when the house or tomb of records is opened, in a few years from now. (2537-1; Jul 17, 1941) ...[the entity] was among the first to set the records that are yet to be discovered or yet to be had of those activities in the Atlantean land, and for the preservation of data that is yet to be found from the chambers of the way between the Sphinx and the pyramid of records. (3575-2; Jan 20, 1944)"

"Q: Give in detail what the sealed room contains.
A: A record of Atlantis from the beginning of those periods when the Spirit took form, or began the encasements in that land; and the developments of the peoples throughout their sojourn; together with the record of the first destruction, and the changes that took place in the land; with the record of the sojournings of the peoples and their varied activities in other lands, and a record of the meetings of all the nations or lands, for the activities in the destruction of Atlantis; and the building of the pyramid of initiation, together with whom, what, and where the opening of the records would come, that are as copies from the sunken Atlantis. (378-16; Oct 29, 1933)"

In several of his readings, Cayce stated that the survivors of the lost continent of Atlantis had brought with them records relating to their earliest history. These, he said, were carefully buried in a secret chamber somewhere near to the Great Sphinx, which stands guard like a sentinel over the Pyramids of Giza. A second set of these records was taken, he said, by other survivors of the disaster to be buried somewhere in the Yucatan area of Mexico. He also said that a third set of records still resides in the heart of Atlantis itself.

So, he is saying al of history has been written down and stored inside the Sphinx, until the time when they are to be unveiled.

Pyramids hidding an extraordinary complex:

Wondering about the premises where this material inheritance could have been found, both investigators turned to the most lasting and strange complex: the Guizeh pyramids. Immediately in a strong position because of their new integration into the ancient egyptien thinking, both men analysed the site which was thought to be mainly "3 non-lined up pyramids rsvith a sphinx dropped haphazardly". The authors, fortified by rediscovering a knowledge and by searching a new main line, testity to the presence and harmony of a sacred geometry (using the golden number) wich was the creating basis ofthis huge complex called Guizeh.
Challenging the future of archeology, at least the egyptian one, the link between the ancient and the modem days would be resting there under the ground of the Pharaons. After deciphering and visiting the Plateau of Guizeh, the prediction will prove as clear as daylight, what as already started, since for 7 years, each new discovtry has undoubtedly been in keeping within Gruais and Mouny's framework.

They are the first men to assert that an enormous heritage does exist concealed under the Guizeh pyramids but, for the first time, they give astonishing details, with dimensioned sketches of chambers and corridors, every thing justified by an implacable geometry. The egyptologists had been looking for it for a long time, but it books as if the researches had been carried out into the reasons and the method of this setting up. The researchers had done the utmost to interpret each pyramid one by one (tomb, treasure storeroom, triangulation point, initiation area...). In this context, a possible link between the three monuments was unimaginable. As to the Sphinx...more worse.

The innovative idea, three pyramids and a lonely sphinx, .embody a coherent complex whose rules have to be defined. This rule once deciphered brought out in a ground plan, a great pyramidale triangle with Cheops at the top and Mykerinos in the angle at the basis. Surprisingly the opposite side ran exactly through the head of the Sphinx!

A symetry was imperative, re-creating fictitiously a "Chephren a" and a "Mykerinos a". This pyramidal triangle , covering the whole Guizeh plateau, had basis quoins identical to those of Cheops 51°51 ' ! The whole geometrical setting up started from there with the initial measures.

And so it was obvious that the internal architecture of Cheops is the replica (Scaled down to 1/5th) of the subterranean complex. This is the map of the basement depicted more durably than papyrus or clay tablets. A map erected upwards. . . surrounded by stones to defy time. Besides, what remains mysterious when visiting Cheops, becomes as clear as crystal in an horizontale appearance.

For the time being we can imagine that the Egyptians discovered the basement complex built before them, materialized it, in case of need, by the building of the pyramids according to a preliminary boundary.
The wo]e geometry of the plateau shows a complexity wich is equalled only by the rigour. It reminds us of C.A.O. (Computer aided design).

The precision of this "maquette Cheops" reveals a subterranean hydraulic network. A famous predecessor, Hérodotus, had put its existence forward: doubled hydraulic network with a common source and a draining corresponding to the levelling, with a additional so-called technical rooms, with security locks and wells (rather shafts) below this network! It must be an uncommon source of energy or light !

Further reflections!

Together with a possible technique the egyptian mysticism has a tremendous part. It may be the beginning of the philosophy of the egyptian religion. They possessed a knowledge of the afterlife which hould surprise us more than it does. They explained it by detailed drawings and written works in the book of the Dead and it looks as if they did communicate with those dimensions. The transcommunication, disconcerting in times past, fits into the study. The visit of the underground chambers could reveal unexpected sides. Then, the model Cheops would be the initiatory mirror . Moïse, born of this education, conveyed some ideas too by the Ark of the Covenant, linked with these techniques.

As to the purpose of this underground complex, it is far too huge to be only funerary. But nothing might have prevented the Pharaons -sun god Re's sons- to make room for themselves. Whatever the hypothesis chosen, it is obvious from what we know that the egyptians always gave several aspects or interpretations to the same thing. The pyramids must be the illustration. They are not only funerary, without doubt models or reductions but something else perhaps.

The pyramids which are not out of order and the Sphinx which is not dropped anywhere strengthen the importance the Ancients or several visionaries had given to Guizeh. A series of five pyramids (three fictitious, two real ones) superposed and buried, located next to the Sphinx, northward precisely. The well-known enigma of the Sphinx, should it be partly related in this sacred architecture, is embodied in the contents of its basement. Gruais et Mouny already reconstruct a formal puzzle including layouts used again in the Occident and during the Middle Ages (under the name of Atalanta ). Quite evidently, facts emerge and enable us to understand and assimilate the real symbolism of the whole scheme: THE ORIGINE OF MAN.

Text Future excavatings :

They are necessary to check the theories suggested and in the event of relation to discover the content which is going to change drastically the established knowledge.
If we consider the stake and precise localization of the entrance, according to the authors, excavatings should have started quickly where they suggest, all the more so as no monument is touched. Besides if the average level of the basement is below 36 m, several checkpoints are just above the ground. But we should know procedures and men better. It is to be feared that one might hurry slowly. The whole History and current events justify these fears, specially when the latest data do not come from official sources and change the generally accepted ideas. Moreover and without exaggerating we can wonder if "superior interests" would not tend to fudge the issue.

Sensing these problems, Gruais et Mouny had already alerted the Ministries of Research, Culture, and Foreign Office. In vain. The scientists ignored them too.
Is the Country doing not grasp the opportunity and doing not carry on with J. F. Champollion's process: "The Napolenic France introduced modern Egypt. It is up to France to reap souvenirs engraved on (G-M and lender) these monuments. Then Europe will go back to its most ancient origins. "

Text HAS THE MYSTERY OF THE SPHINX BEEN SOLVED AT LAST ?

Text Navy There are questions below that I will try and answer.

Three pyramids of different sizes, not even aligned, and a sphinx with a disproportionate body, set apart.
This is what most Egyptologists see and say about the Giza site.
But...
- Are there mysterious links between the three pyramids and the Sphinx
at Giza?
- Is the Sphinx the nerve centre around which the site was organized ?
- Does the mysterious Sphinx hide the secret of a forgotten civilization?
- Does the enigmatic Sphinx hide the greater part of Giza, like an iceberg?
- Did the architects of these 45-century-old structures know the secrets
of sacred geometry and divine proportions?

An amazing book has just cast doubt upon the hypotheses advanced so far : The Great Secret of the Sphinx of Giza...

Guy Gruais and Guy Mouny started with arithmetic investigations and a thorough examination of all the theories related to these pyramids. They then did on-site research. Unlike other researchers, these two Frenchmen did not stop with the visible elements. They went further, reasoning in cubits, the unit of measure used by the ancient Egyptians.

In this way the apparent disorder gives way to a geometrical organization of the plateau, governed by universal proportions of ancestral laws of arithmetic such as the golden mean, the squaring of the circle and sacred or divine triangles.
This coherent and intellectually informed dig suddenly revealed a gigantic underground complex.

Designed using the Cheops passageways as a model, the balance of this buried part of the site is based on the existence of two fictitious pyramids, twins of Chephren and Mykerinos.

In the same way, the plan of the passageways and rooms of the Chephren pyramid govern the space beneath the Sphinx according to an infallible logic.

This space obeys strict plans and precise lines and calculations.

The works of Guy Gruais and Guy Mouny are confirmed by scattered accounts which, once put together, provide a singular and coherent interpretation of the site.

Among these documents the is the Fleeing Atalante by the famous 17th century alchemist and philosopher de Maier. This drawing, which combines many parameters of sacred geometry, coincides in a disturbing way with the proportions of Giza and its underground complex...

This discovery could not fail to raise new questions, even more basic ones : Why such amazing precision in the plan? Who drew these plans, and for what builders?
What was the purpose of these underground passageways ? What does this site represent, with its always implacable balance and logic ? Is its underground part not the most consistent ?

What does the Sphinx want to reveal to us by showing that each pyramid and each line it suggests obey a strict order?

Text NUMEROUS LEADS TO FOLLOW

The Great Secret of the Sphinx of Giza suggests that Houroun, the Sphinx, could hold information of unimaginable value. The string of strange coincidences brought to light by the discoveries of Gruais and Mouny opens many leads and possible interpretations.
Disturbing analogies between the secrets of medieval alchemists, the prophecies of the American visionary Edgar Cayce( Famous character in the United States, Edgar Cayce is best known for his revelations, a great number of which concern ancient Egypt. An institute bears his name and works on his prophecies.) , and the discoveries in the space under Giza make possible unexpected and astonishing projections.

The Sphinx, guardian of the Giza plateau, is thought to hide under its enigmatic face the secret of a pyramid of archives where the extraordinary knowledge of an ancient and prestigious civilization is preserved.

Passageways could even exist between the secret of the Sphinx and the mystery of Atlantis.

The universality of the layout of the site matches, furthermore, certain constructions in Central America and in Tibet.

Such a revolution cannot be limited simply to the area of archeology. At the vanguard of knowledge that would be not only empirical but also a path to future interpretations, this revolution could be interpreted as one of the possible keys to "the Age of Aquarius".
