Libya's Gaddafi: 'I Will Die A Martyr'

news.sky.com

Libya's embattled leader Colonel Muammar Gaddafi has said he has no intention of stepping down, declaring on state TV: "I will die here as a martyr."

He denounced thousands of protesters who have led days of anti-government demonstrations as "rats" and ordered army and police to crush the uprising.

I watched most of the hour-long speech he just gave live on Libyan state TV and he honestly does seem like a desperate man in my opinion. He has vowed crush any uprising in protesters at the same time he's asking the people who support the government to rise up and stop, disarm and turn in the protesters rising against the government.

He seems a very egocentric, self-absorbed man who could not stop speaking about his accomplishments many years ago when he was swept into power via a revolution. The protesters now seem more angered in the wake of his comments.

My best wishes are with the Libyan people in the hope they will transition from this dark phase in one piece, but this deranged man seems adamant in taking the country with him.

The man is delusional.

makes me think why they aren't doing the same with the regime in cuba. I think its about time they break free over there from their dictatorship too. Perhaps too small of a population? Perhaps they do not even know about these revolutions? I dont know.

So simple to say, but the Libya people have no guns, the protesters are
barely armed with sticks and Molotov's.

Gaddafi has bombs, helicopters, his army,
sitting on over a trillion dollars worth of oil......

He will slaughter the protesters mercilessly.

WHO THE HELL IS GOING TO STOP HIM???..

You think you can just say good riddance to a war mongering dictator?

Yes, there will be blood...

A couple of JDAM's could make his proclamation a reality and no one would be the wiser.

He's a pathetic idiot.
Trying to blame the USA for most of the stuff...

He even dared to say that he killed his people for 'dignity.'

It is DISGUSTING.

Well, he's got HALF of that equation right. lol.

Guy is a monster.

What else would you want me to say? I can't do anything for the protesters, it's up to them. I wish them the best of luck but blood usually does spill if any change is to come about.

The bad thing with schumcks like him is that he tries to keep power through his family, by passing on control to his son(s). Same as Kim Jong Il. So, now not only does he have to go, but his entire family. Gets messy in a hurry, doesn't it.

More then *Good riddance*
I hope you know it will be good riddance to the innocent protesters..
Keyboard armchair generals say *good riddance* to an evil dictator who
will genocide the people in his country..

Lol then go over to Libya and take up arms or better yet see if you can get someone to smuggle them in. The only other alternative is he stays in power and still kills everyone. I don't understand your argument with me.

NO argument, just think before you post.

With any luck, the man will end up directly in the hands of those he has oppressed for so long. Let them carry out Gaddafi style justice on him. To bad we didn't get him back in 1986.

Unfortunately, even if he does meet his official demise, you have to wonder who or what will step in to fill the void. I just hope these people will be better off in the long run.

Delusional? You dont say?

Amazonian Guard

(with pics! Got some good looking chicks in there!)

From Wikipedia

The Amazonian Guard is an elite group of 30-40 (reports differ) virginal women who are tasked with protecting the eccentric Muammar al-Gaddafi. Candidates for the Amazonian Guard undergo extensive firearms and martial arts training at a special academy and must be handpicked by Gaddafi, himself. Members of this elite group are allowed privileges not deemed acceptable in the Muslim world, such as dressing in western style fatigues and wearing makeup, western hair styles and high heels. The existence of this elite group has created controversy as it challenges the role of women in the Muslim world.
