There has been alot of talk on the net about Jay-Z and Rihanna's possible ties with the Illuminati. Use of symbolism etc...in their videos and clothing lines. As a fan of hip hop it has got me thinking whether there is any truth in this? Hip hop does seem to have been 'dumbed down' over the last decade and Nas made a whole album claiming 'Hip Hop is Dead'.

I then came across this blog:

hiphopilluminati.blogspot.com...

I don't know what to make of this really as she is basically promoting a book, so the whole thing could have been made up to sell a few copies. I can't seem to find any real credentials of hers on the net, She claims to have involvement in the making of the Thug Immortal documentary with George Tan but I can't see her credited anywhere.

She post's what she claims to be left out excerpts from a XXL magazine interview regarding the illuminati.

Anyway, it's her 50 little know facts about the illuminati that if anything make for good reading. I'd be interested to read any opinions on these 'facts'.

I still don't really know what to think about this all. Are the illuminati real? Are they using Hip Hop to dumb down the youth of the world by selling wasteful lifestyles and promoting violence? Have rappers sold their souls to the 'devil' for wealth and fame? Or are rappers using the illumati by jumping on recent books by Dan Brown etc... to cause a stir and sell more records.

I'd would be very interested to hear any thoughts on this.

Thanks

I think it's more to do with the commercialization of hip-hop, as such gets dumbed down - like any other genre of music once it hits the mainstream.

That makes alot of sense.

I just wonder if the illuminati have control of what actually get's commercialised if that makes sense?

Did they see a good opportunity with hip hop to be the new voice of the youth? The more people they reach the more they can push certain messages in songs or promote a certain image.

Where i'm from I certainly see life trying to imitate art and not for good.

Cui Bono? Seriously though do we have to look and try to find secret handshaking bastards everywhere? More likely they are just trying to push the same &*($ they peddle to others on the conspiracy crowd. Remember kids... cui bono... cui bono... cui bono...

Yes, thats right recite it like a mantra because its absolutely true 90% of the time
. Remember those two tiny little words and it will help you dissect most of the crap thats shoveled at you in your life.

KRS One - Tell him he's working for the Illuminati. It wouldn't fly.

Hip hop hasn't been infiltrated by the Illuminati. Money-making record producers have infiltrated hip hop and ruined what was once a great musical genre.

Rihanna is not the Illuminati Queen. Jay-Z isn't the King.

The more imagery suggesting they are is used in their videos, the more people will discuss it, the more exposure they then ultimately get.

Take Rihanna's latest video S&M. There was a thread on here saying it was full of references in it's imagery. However, a respected photographer is now suing because the imagery used is a complete rip off of a series of photos he took had the exact same themes in each shot.

This instantly shoots down claims from the theorists that there was intent to put subliminal illuminati references in there, because all they've simply done is lifted the whole thing from a project of a photographer simply because the imagery tied in nicely with the S&M reference of the song, and it was 'edgy' and 'cool' - whatever words you want to associate with it. Personally I think it looks trashy. And I certainly didn't think "Oh those Illuminati boys are at it again!" but knew instantly when watching it, there'd be a flurry of posts on here. And I was right.

i had a quick look at the article, it was quite long so i was scrolling fast to the bottom just to get an idea of its contents. my eyes caught number 43 on the list and it said "this one cannot be posted here but is available in my book" thats when i decided to close it...

as for hip hop using illuminati symbolism.. i think these guys know what is being talked about in this kind of underground world, and it is great publicity for them. if you type illuminati into google, lady gaga comes out at number 4 or something like that.

Does anyone have any comments on the blog and the 'facts' about the illuminati?

This doesn't have to be about simply hip hop.

i guess if your a beleiver in the illuminati agenda you could say they control everything we listen to, watch, eat and read...so, yeah lol

personally i dont buy into this particular theory, mainstream pop culture is dictated by how much money it will generate - and dumbed down to appeal to as many people as possible.

That was my immediate thought too and like I said it's probably her just trying to jump on the bandwagon to sell a book. I can't find anything to verify her involvement in Hip Hop.

If it's all fake, she's pretty creative with it as she even went to the trouble of doing a timeline!

Good post.

It definitely crossed my mind that we're probably not giving the artists and label enough credit. They could easily use the illimunati theory for their own agenda.

If they were really a part of the Illuminati, supposedly the most secretive society of people since the Middle Ages, I don't think that they would announce it publicly to the world through their music and videos. For example, in Rihanna's new music video "S&M" there are multiple images of the words "Princess of the Illuminati Slut". Think about it. If they really were a part of this society, and they really did have a secret agenda to brainwash us, do you really think they would come out in the open with it as straight-forward as they do?

Or are rappers using the illumati by jumping on recent books by Dan Brown etc... to cause a stir and sell more records.

I honestly believe that this is what they are trying to do. And I honestly believe it works. Almost everywhere you turn, you see some mention of these pop stars being involved with the Illuminati, and it wasn't by accident. Eminem proved a long time ago that creating controversy is the most effective method to get people's attention. I believe that Jay-Z, Rihanna, Beyonce, Lady Gaga, all of them, are simply taking a different, but just as effective approach at creating controversy to sell more records, build a bigger fan base, and over all gain more attention.

With all that being said, I think Gwen Stefani is the devil. Just pure, pure evil.

The illuminati symbols and words are used in rap/hip hop songs because it then appeals to a wider range of people. When someone like a conspiracy theorist hears that there is a song that contains 'hidden symbols' of the illuminati, the first thing they will naturally do is check out that song. They might like that song, (previously they may have never listened to rap) and they might go download a few albums which equates to money in the pocket of the record label.

In my opinion, it's just a marketing ploy to get more people to buy their music. No global brainwashing

are the illuminati real

I personally do not think they are. There was a group of people in the 1700s that called themselves the illuminati; I think the group was banned sometime in the 1780's (no idea why). The whole illuminati controlling the world scenario, rose to fame after Dan Brown released his book "The Da Vinci Code", in which they were the antagonists. You have to remember though, that book was purely fiction.

I see what you're saying and for the most part I do agree. Just trying to keep an open mind and looking at thing from all angles, is it possible using all of this symbolism out in the open could be a double bluff as sorts?

Basically, if people are thinking 'if they really are illuminati why would they announce this to world' by getting people to ask this question it kind of makes a mockery of the illuminati. So in a sense the illuminati can go about their business as people will don't believe they are real anyway.

Hope that makes sense.

BTW I am not at all saying I believe in the Illuminati and their control of the mainstream. Just looking at it as a possibility.
