so fox is supposedly an objective news channel? huh?...yet another sickening display of biast news coverage...

Media Matters April '09 Report Found Fox Aired At Least 20 Segments And 73 Promos On Tea Party Protests In Lead Up To Tax Day Protests. In April 2009, Media Matters reported that Fox News had frequently aired segments not only covering tea party protests but encouraging viewers to get involved. An April 15, 2009, study found that from April 6-13, Fox had aired 20 segments and 73 in-show and commercial promotions on the tea party protests scheduled for April 15. Many of those segments aired during one of Fox's supposedly objective news shows, America's Newsroom

so they slam the winsconsin protesters who are fighting for thier pensions that they have worked for, for their security in thier twilight years, yet actively promote protesters for the teaparty....

i have to say im pretty sickened.

heres a link to the actual artical

mediamatters.org...

The few times I have watched Fox news I got really annoyed and found myself wanting to toss my remote at the tv at their stupid comments.

It seems they will say whatever they want and then back pedal later on when they are caught.

well take only last week with ron paul....i mean they apoligised stating "it was CLEARLY a mistake because the backdrops were similar"

oh really now?

no it was CLEARLY done on purpose to smear ron pauls campaign!

and now this?

i mean will it ever end?...gladly people are slowly waking up to this channel, and are watching alternative media sources, i hope that in a few years, hopefully sooner that this channel crashes and burns with lack of viewers.

I think the tea party has a more legitimate beef than the unions...

The corporation for public broadcasting is much more biased than Fox and tax dollars go towards it, hopefully that will no longer be the case in the near future.

Fox News has proven itself over and over to be nothing more or less than a propaganda arm of the Republican party. I must confess I watch it sometimes to get an idea of the current spate of mis-information, bias and lies they are pushing, but that's about it... they aren't even good 'entertainment'. Certainly not a source to use in isolation to figure out what's going on in the world...

I have a bone to pick with the Tea Party's pseudo-patriotic, closeted white supremacist agenda.

Fox just sucks. Plain and simple. They have no respect for Ron Paul and I'm not even one of his supporters.

Yeah, it's quite a read. Posted this a few days ago in the thread about how FoxNews was met by the people in Wisconsin with cries of, "Fox Lies."

I've yet to see any convincing evidence of this... but hey repeat repeat repeat... race card race card race card... kind of a tired tactic.

It is beyond insane that the media constant slanders the tea party, Libertarians and anyone else who disagrees with society or governments mad march to banckruptcy and war. Using race baiting and lies they got away with it. But God help us, the tide IS turning as the people are starting to see through the BS.

FOX is nothing but a right wing propaganda machine. If you get the chance check out Outfoxed: Rupert Murdoch's War on Journalism.

Cnn is doing the exact same thing but in reverse. Both news stations need to realize we need news not opinion. Whatever happened to just the facts? and why aren't you complaining about bias on the other spectrum?

I am so sick of this argument. NPR/PBS are produced by intelligent people, for intelligent people. The level of discourse and reason there far exceeds what you hear on Fox. Naturally, that would offend "know nothing" types who seek to have their prejudices validated rather than actually think about difficult issues.

First question for those of you who call the Tea Party a bunch of white supremicists. Have you ever been to a Tea Party Rally? Have you even looked at who is actually at most of them. It is a bunch of Old people of every color and creed.

As for the Protesters in WI, They need to be slammed.. Oh no.. They gotta pay more for their benefits. . what a freaking crime!!!. Lets throw a temper tantrum because we are not getting everything handed to us on a silver platter. Union's are one of the BANE"s of this country. They should all be gotten rid of. They are worthless and annoying and cause more problems than they have ever solved. Most of the unions are Mafia run still to this day. Get rid of the Unions completely. Let companies actually be able to decide what to pay and how to pay.

There are some good programs, but the news and political commentary is very biased. In either case tax funding is completely unnecessary. By "intelligent people" I guess you mean people like yourself lol?

I think "intelligent people" are more prone to watch c-span than PBS.

C-span does politics better.
CNBC does business better.
CNN and Fox do breaking news better.
A variety of commercial channels do documentaries, history better.

So what's left... antiques roadshow (better similar programs elsewhere), british comedy (BBC), sesame street, and a prarie home companion...

FOX doesn't care for anything unless it helps corporations gain an edge over the common man

They sell the "less government, we're for the people" hogwash when in reality, they are a fully owned subsidiary of the GOP/TP, which in turn are fully owned by corporate America. Just look at how they're misrepresenting net neutrality!!

Don't forget it's also their job to praise Ronald Regan.

What I find annoying about Fox is the Saturday morning cartoon format, with all the "whoosh" "crash and bang" sound and adolescent graphics. Fox is just a vehicle to sell viagra, diet food, depends, Gold coins, and other old people products to a targeted demographic. Even the look of the on screen personnel is calculated. Women are required to wear short dress and have big lips [one of the few redeeming factors that I like on Fox] and the Men should look like insurance salesmen and have the same voice quality.

Fox has a brilliant business strategy that works quite well.
Fox like all networks has rooms full of bean counters and A&R guys all trying to scramble up the ratings ladder.

They know exactly the personality types that Fox appeals to, the products they buy, the format that should be implemented. It's about money, profit and manipulation of a targeted audience.

I chose not to buy into any network being as how I work in the biz and know how it works. Most people don't know and don't care. The name that the Excs in the plush offices, call their audience isn't very complementary as you can well imagine. Three quesses.....

FOX is only useful as a source if you compliment it with MSNBC and ATS. I am a Teapartier, and I despise FOX as much as I do MSNBC, I also support the protestors in WI, and you may see something similar in Florida in mid to late March if they cut our benefits as much as they are implying they will.

If I watch one MSM station, I have to flip over and watch the other to get some semblance of factual middle ground. My best suggestion is just come to the "Breaking News" forum of ATS, and then go back and fact check with FOX and MSNBC. In this manner you are assured to get the real nitty gritty of the story!

I find it annoying sometimes too (and yes, of course they cater to a particular demographic). I find it far less annoying than PBS taking tax dollars though (and those goofy pledge drives... UGH).

News channels are ment for entertainment. If they are not entertaining to you then they do not make money. Good thing to keep in mind.

I happen to agree with Fox. I think the protesters need to get a grip. Welcome to the real world. We are broke. Everyone else has had to sacrifice. Hell, we just had to close up our 401K. This is after pay cut after pay cut. But cant complain because at least we still have work and an opprotunity to make $$. Protesting right now because they dont want to have to pay more for their health care and pensions is insulting to workers in the private sector. You are lucky to have what you have. You are lucky to have the opprotunity to have health care, and pensions. EVERYONE else is having to suck it up why shouldnt they? The states are BROKE. Go figure, free wasnt really free.

Tea party protesters - speaking as one - bitched and protested about how what money we didnt have was being thrown away in bailout after bailout. We KNEW we would all end up being held accountable, and our children would be held accountable. Time to get responsible.

Kudos to the Govs who are trying to get their states out of debt.

Fox news had a spokesperson on from the unions and asked her a few excellent questions. They asked why they shouldnt do this, and she said because it would only eliminate 1/4th of the debt.
only? They asked her what they thought would be a better idea for cutting the budget, and the only thing she could come up with was not anything that would affect them. Well, reality check! This affects everyone.
